What a beautiful voice!!!! Like the flow of the song…! Mean’s a lot throughout life’s journey! Dancing and swimming with the tune on the lake. Great Pandora match with music that has the same energy 🤠😎
Jeff Brailsford Too kind ! Thks !!! I always found that song vaguely dark, obscure with a strange mood altough it has a powerful rhythm. When I discovered the video of those bizarre water fishes, it reminded me of that song. I tried to integrate the images with the song. Glad you liked it !!!
There are song you never forget, even 35 years later. Falling in love as a young boy and feeling the same today as it was yesterday. Thank you for giving me back the past for a few wonderful minutes!!!
When I lived in Winnipeg in the 1980s I don’t recall this song receiving much, if any, airplay. When I moved to Minneapolis in 1991, KTCJ/KTCZ had this in their regular rotation.
Bought the Album: "At the Feet of the Moon." in 1984 at my Record Shop in Mannheim, Germany. A true gem from this Canadian Band. This is my favourite song. Hear more good music in my Playlists.
Scuba Steve here… a lot of excellent bands come from Canada…. Twain… Loverboy… Triumph…Rush… always said a message. Some are religious groups like Kansas…. Dust in the wind… a lot of music out there has multiple signals to our society. And it’s good music… somebody went through challenging times and wrote a song to express their feelings. I love that people that can listen to all expressions of music… keep open minded…. I like a kind of music… Jazz… Blues… Hard Rock…so much music that we never hear on a radio….
I've been looking for this song for 30 years...heard it during a break at work in the late 1980's and never forgot it, but could only remember one line, "What do those eyes mean?" Thanks to RUclips, Google, Stesul, and of course Parachute Club for allowing this middle aged guy to relive a little piece of his lost youth!
40 years. For almost 40 years I have searched for this song. Back in the 1980's I would record music from the radio on cassette tapes. I recorded part of this song from an obscure Canadian station about 1984. The song was haunting and mesmerizing. I had no idea who sung it, as I had started recording after the tune had started. As the years passed, I never heard the song replayed again. Eventually technology changed and the old mix tapes were boxed up, replaced with cd's, streaming and RUclips. My children have grown and moved out. Recently I started cleaning out the house and came across all my old tapes. It was like time travel. There were songs, radio commercials and even some snippets of news stories. In the middle of one of these old tapes was this song. I quickly got my phone and asked Siri to identify this song. The sound quality had degraded over the decades; I wasn't even sure if this was a documented group or a forgotten local act. Five to 10 very long seconds later, "Shazam Music Recognition"- Innuendo Parachute Club flashed on the screen. Next I went to RUclips. I FOUND IT!!!!!
This song randomly came up on my drive home tonight, and I instantly remembered the singers name, Juli Masi. I think this was the only song that she was the lead singer when she was in Parachute club. Loraine sang all the others. This is by far my favorite Parachute Club song. I wish see had sung more of the songs. Looking thru the comments, looks like I'm not the only one that thinks so.
I come in breezin' by On a vague invitation This soul, one step removed From this strange situation Midnight conversation Silhouettes lurking in the scene All of us so different In this celluloid dream I don't know what you want Why are you staring at me? What do those eyes mean? Innuendo In between the lines You are saying You're passing secrets But I can't read your mind Veiled eyes trade places Cold hearts leave traces Silent accusations Hidden in the night I don't know what you want Why are you looking at me? What do those eyes mean? I don't know what you want I don't know what you need Why are you staring at me? What do those eyes mean? Innuendo You move towards me Concealed intentions You talk a blue streak But tell me, is it the truth? Double-hearted, double-crossed Double-meaning Is this real or just imagination? Who's to know, what is the truth I don't know what you want I don't know what you need Why are you staring at me? What do those eyes mean? I don't know what you want I don't know what you need Why are you staring at me? What do those eyes mean? Innuendo
Great video to put with this...this massively underrated, subversive, moody dangerous piece of music. The deep underlying bass track...can't hear it's full, almost subsonic glory...but beware ...it's an amp/sub killer..
Isn't it the sexiest song ever written? Wine.....your girl.......background setting......Inuendo......Best night I ever had ......with this soundtrack....
when I was in my 20's, I always would fall asleep to the radio playing. The first time I heard this song I was in a deep sleep on a hot summer night, I had my window open as I laid underneath it. There was a slight breeze making the curtains dance over me. This song was playing making me have a haunting/erotic dream. A dark haired woman with a long white dress appeared in the middle of the street, waving in slow motion to come towards her-as I got closer, I awoke to the end of this song. True story
That's a great story. Thanks for sharing. Indeed, this song reminds me a dark smokey room with a mysterious woman singing in a psychedelic ambiance. Somehow, that strange aquatic video also reminded me of that song ! Go figure !! ;)
@@kurtlarch too funny, amazing that music can travel that far long before the internet! I bought EPs and 12" of U2, Simple Minds and others online, and they were mailed from NED
The best song they ever did and it was one of the few not sung by Lorraine Segato. Julie Masi was a far better singer, she should have been the lead vocalist
Sur les 'Clouds', je sais pas. Par contre, en CD, il y a ici: news.google.com/newspapers?nid=Fr8DH2VBP9sC&dat=19661008&printsec=frontpage&hl=en&fbclid=IwAR1s9nt5FEZbwRjiOLr97ubsCuaenXanStDAmvTyfqOJMOzc9qHPOfpVytI
This band was recently inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Deservingly so, I might add. Incredible musicians.

Whoever thought of putting this video to this song...GENIUS!

This song brings me way back I love it. Thank you.
I wasn't big on Parachute Club's music ,but, I liked this song.
This is such a beautiful video, a lesson of biology and art to get lost in, such a beautiful song, so perfect together, why does it make me so sad?
nice blend of sound and vision

Did she sing "Middle Child"? I recall the first time I saw them, and Julie sang several songs for sure.
What a memory! Julie Masi singing.
I come in breezin' by
On a vague invitation
This soul, one step removed
From this strange situation
Midnight conversation
Silhouettes lurking in the scene
All of us so different
In this celluloid dream
I don't know what you want
Why are you staring at me?
What do those eyes mean?
Innuendo
In between the lines
You are saying
You're passing secrets
But I can't read your mind
Veiled eyes trade places
Cold hearts leave traces
Silent accusations
Hidden in the night
I don't know what you want
Why are you looking at me?
What do those eyes mean?
I don't know what you want
I don't know what you need
Why are you staring at me?
What do those eyes mean?
Innuendo
You move towards me
Concealed intentions
You talk a blue streak
But tell me, is it the truth?
Double-hearted, double-crossed
Double-meaning
Is this real or just imagination?
Who's to know, what is the truth
I don't know what you want
I don't know what you need
Why are you staring at me?
What do those eyes mean?
I don't know what you want
I don't know what you need
Why are you staring at me?
What do those eyes mean?
Innuendo
Brilliant and beautiful!

I totally agree man!
Julie Masi is such an underrated singer. She should have had more exposure in the group.
The group as a whole needed more exposure.

Today, I’m getting it IN MY END, OH! Looking forward to getting this prostate surgery done. Glad to know Lorraine Segato sang a song for me.

First time I heard of the Parachute Club was on 88.5 OHM FM out of Canada. Hard to find these songs, great band.
+Alex Martinez You might be able to get their greatest hits CD at HMV Records here in Canada or possibly any HMV outlet around the world.
tmr626 Thanks, but I went on Ebay. Picked up all 3 albums. Plus a couple of the 12 inch singles.
