I've only just begun the vid but I really like being able to see more of the infrastructure of this port. At the beginning there are a number of petro/chemical barges. Are these used for fueling duties or do they transport product up river?

Many of these are used for transport through Europa. From Rotterdam they can reach the whole rhine valley Duisburg, Köln, Franfuurt (am Main), Strasburg, Manheim and Basel (Swiss one of the greatest european city for chemie). They can also reach Belgium und north of France over Maas and Schelde. Rotterdam is one of the most important harbour in Europa, if not the most important one. And the Rhine rive acts as a small Missisipi/Missouri. The Rhine is probably the reason of Rotterdam's weight in maritim trading.
