  • While waiting for the snow, I add a LED light bar to my ROP. No drilling, using an existing hole, wire are channeled to a spare set of Aux light wires and directly hooked in to the tractors light switch. It's quick, easily detachable if necessary, and only cost a total of $35.

    Hi. Just wanted to thank you for posting this video. The prewired connection at the rear of the Tractor for the LED saved me a ton of effort and I would not have known it was there without your video. Thanks ever so much!!!

    A worthwhile project well done. The magnets work so well with the light bar that they could have been an accessory.

    While researching an easy way to add a light I came across your video. I ordered the same parts you used, just arrived today, & am looking forward to installing them tonight. The cost for the light, magnets & wire from Amazon is bit higher now (April, 2022). It totaled $43.47

    I have been moving plenty of snow in northern Wisconsin. Been moving quite a bit to the back field so my wife can see when backing out of the driveway. Got to keep her happy

    If you feel ambitious you can change out your regular headlight bulbs and fender light bulbs on your tractor to LED bulbs. Makes a big difference.

    Excellent idea! I did mine just last weekend. I did light bars and switches for front and rear using angle iron and the canopy ubolts. Those magnets are definitely a good idea for your needs! I got most of my ideas right here on RUclips. It’s always good folks documenting things like this. It gives others ideas and options to think about. Well done.

    I always appreciate your projects, I learn a lot. I finally got to use my plow (AF10F) twice here in the pacific NW. Very pleased.
    I thought that I would have traction problems with no chains but with the backhoe on I had enough weight to plow through dry and
    wet snow. Of course you can't let the wet snow build up too much. Keep those vids coming!

    Very nice mod. My set up is very similar, but I used the 2-way Delphi Metri-Pack 150 connector in the wiring harness above the left rear axle instead of the SAE bullet connectors. Looks like yours are being used for something else already (minute 2:46). Great channel, BTW. I love your videos. Cheers.

    Hello! This is the best video that I have seen for installing the LED light bar. I am curious if after 10 months of use...are you are still pleased with the lights you purchased, and if they are still working okay. Would you go with another brand or stick with the Nilight? Thanks!

    Really liked the instruction and sharing this lighting modification. I did the same on my 2020 1025r with the forward leaning ROPS and notice the light will fall off when pushing snow. I might try using zip ties to save my skull! Has anyone had their light bar slide forward and off the ROPS?

    • @ataleofthreecabins1025

      Only had them come off if I fold my ROPs back and hit large bumps at a high speed. In the upright position they stay solid.

    How did you find out about the spare wire on your tractor? I have a 3025E and would like to add lights on it, but my owner's manual doesn't have any wiring diagrams.

    • @ataleofthreecabins1025
      @ataleofthreecabins1025  4 года назад

      Dean Levang I read on a forum that those wires were place there if you upgraded to have the LED work lights to the ROPS added as an option from John Deere. That makes me wonder if you had that option also.

  • @brickwall217

    Thanks for this. Is the spare JD purple/black wiring capable of carrying the load to service the light mod? Does anyone know if doing this work will invalidate new tractor warranty?

    • @ataleofthreecabins1025
      @ataleofthreecabins1025  4 года назад +1

      The light bar is 72 watts. I've ran it for a few hours at a time an have not had any issues. As for the warranty, really didn't modify anything with the tractor. I could pull off the magnets, unplug the wires, and put the cap back on. Take Care, Tom
