Scarborough storm tide surge 13th January 2017

One hours worth of the high storm tide at Scarborough, 13th January 2017. The first minutes are on the Marine Drive and the outer pier, followed by the Marine Drive with some fantastic close ups of the huge waves rolling into the North Bay and finally sheltering (!) outside a cafe watching the spectacular waves crashing over the road. High tide was about 4.30pm so it was getting quite dark but the camera coped quite well, especially when the street lights came on and lit up the waves as they came over. The noise of the sea was incredible and fortunately seems to cover over that usual awful wind noise you get on the camera microphone. It does sound even better played through hifi speakers turned up ! You do get the full thunderous noise.
A day I will long remember.
