Sure hope this makes it's way to California soon. A store I shop at got around 150 bottles of the Rum cask so the odds are good. Glen Scotia seems to be a bit overlooked compared to it's neighbor Springbank. Started with the 15 then found some peated cask strength bottles and that was it for me. The Rum cask is $70 us. which is a great value for such a great dram. Cheers Alan
Just picked up a bottle of this at my local Costco yesterday for $74.99. First time I've seen it anywhere. Was planning to save it for the holidays , but now thinking I should dive in and see if it's worthwhile to get a second bottle before they sell out. Coincidentally, the first time I had the GS 15 y.o. was also a purchase from Costco which had it for $15 less than the going rate in my area.
Had this at a tasting yesterday. It’s a pretty stunning dram. Spent a lot of time on the nose, which was exceptional. Then the palette surpassed the nose. Wonderful.
Yeah alan i've had all 3 festival bootle & i like last years rum cask & this 1 the best
GS Festival 2020 is absolute delight to drink. Simply class!

I love this whisky, I love the Rum finish and the Ruby Port before it. Great notes. The 3 way head to head sounds great. It’s something I’ve considered doing as I’ve got a bit of each left. But for me it’s Rock, Paper, Scissors! Each one has a strength to defeat the others, it will be a tough call. 👍

I was excited to see this limited release at my local shop. I immediately snatched one up. I waited a week to taste and my god what a fantastic whisky! Of course the shop sold out of them in the first few days. Now my main regret is that I didn't buy four bottles. :)

@@thewhiskyfriend Ship it! By the time I get home it should be there which will be in about 3 weeks. Doing my Self-Q in San Diego before heading home. Leaving here Friday. ( 🙏 praying) Then, We need to do a SKYPE when I get home, as I have about 20-25 new bottles waiting for me.....couldn't help myself. Do some sampling of those new bottles on SKYPE with you, have you chose what you want sent, then get Snow Globe #5 in the mail to ya!
Haven't tried this year's yet although I have a bottle in the cupboard with its 2018 & 2019 stablemates. I'll need another before I crack this one as I want to keep the collection complete. Thanks for the review....

Great review Alan have just picked up the Glen Scotia 25 year old in the auction tonight have you tried that one? Drinking the Dark Cove while watching you Ardbeg review earlier really nice but did not get the chocolate notes you did. Cheers
Hi Alan, another great review! I’m trying to get a sense of how much peat is in this bottle. I tend to enjoy lower levels of peat like HP 12(before all the Viking changes). Is it close to the HP 12, the Lagavulin 16, or somewhere in the middle? Thanks

I do my friend although the 18 is great I just have a preference to the tawny port... And also the Ruby port is wonderful... I have just had the new 10 festival 2021 delivered bordeau casks... Not cracked it yet.... Thanks for dropping bye my friend...

Hi Alan! Was wondering if you've had the Glen Scotia (2008 Vintage) Campbeltown Malts Festival 2018 that was also finished in Port? If you have how would you compare them?
I do they are different however they are both fantastic... I have reviewed all 3 now... Check them out... Cheers alan
It's a very good whisky but not really at cask strength. I know it's written on the box & backlable of the bottle but during the Summerton Whiskyfestival the GlenScotia distillery manager said that they reduced it a bit (about 5%).
Would love to find a bottle of this some day, thanks for sharing!
