The seats, for instance, were hung, because they were disabling troops before they ever arrived in the combat zone. The headphones were needed to kill the noise, which in turn means the opposition can hear you coming. At a top speed of 43mph, it's far from the Scorpion's 70, which proved itself in Ukraine last year. It's around 40 tonnes in weight, compared with the Scorpion's 8 tonnes, which means it's big. @@ThePeaceWizardWoW Yup at the moment and they may fix all the issues it has over time. This is why I don't understand why the MoD doesn't buy a tried and tested chassis to begin with.
I think it's just a waste of money. Future warfare won't be fought on the ground by heavy armor but by light infantry backed up by a sky full of robots, and missiles, and I don't care how good the armor is, penetrating it is still relatively trivial. Current anti-material munitions can already penetrate it, I'd bet. The era of heavy armor is coming to an end.
People having been saying similar things for decades now and it gets proven wrong every time. It is very difficult to defeat the best armour around today and only large expensive munitions can do it. Drones are still easy targets and will become easier to destroy in time and rockets can only shoot what they know is there. A sky full of robots and missiles cannot hold territory and drones will always be easy targets to shoot down for a modern nation. Heavy armour is as important today as it ever has been. Armour and anti air systems will continue to improve just as fast as the air systems themselves.
What happens when this 'tank' runs into a real MBT, that 40mm isn't even going to scratch it! The ammo reloader has too many moving parts; looks like it might get fouled too easily! Also, if they are using a different round than anyone else (like other members of NATO), isn't this going to further complicate an already overly complex logistics system! Why don't they use a gravity-feed ammo loader like they do in anti-aircraft designs; if you can't kill it in 8-10 rounds, you're underarmed and past time to be running away! What about an anti-air variant so they don't get slaughtered by drones? Personally, I think the age of armored giants whether on land, sea or in the air is about over! A semi-trained private can operate a drone at little danger to himself! A VW-sized light-armored vehicle will be able to do most tasks at considerable saving over huge 42-ton IFVs. Since nothing is invulnerable or ever will be, the emphasis will IMHO shift to good enough armor, good enough firepower and good enough mobility. One or two-man vehicles will be the norm will the ability to swarm over hardened targets!

The Ajax is an overinflated, pointless, over engineered metal box that is only known for making soldiers deaf. I really have doubts about the 'Insanely Armored' claim too, at the end of the day its just an IFV, it doesn't have MBT levels of protection...
its seems that they just put extra stuff on it all the time i like the gun though but that turret can be fitted almost in any armored vehicle that can support the power consumption that the turret needs
idk why they spent 2 billion developing a metal box that rattles soldiers to deafness. they could have very easily taken the CV90 platform, or Rheinmetall Lynx platform, or the Hanwha platform and just developed their own turret for it to have the censors and gun that they wanted. but even then, in my inexperienced opinion the vehicle just seems too big for a recce vehicle that is replacing the CVRT platform @@Redavv
They should have purchased the cv90. Maybe they would have got them in service on time if they had .instead of wasting taxpayer's money on another problematic project
Its terrible.....vibrations and noise make the crew and dismounts sick....it is supposed to replace CVRT as a recce veh....which weighed 8 tons....Ajax weighs 38 tons...this IS not a recce veh or light tank. We should of gone with CV90, would of been cheaper and better.
Defy any Battlefield? Well then, the British military should send a couple to the Ukrainians and see how it actually performs in a combat situation against the Russians.
It seems like a waste of recources and unesssary duplication for NATO countires to produce thier own weapons rather than work together. Whilst a lot of Continental Europe will buy and work together to meteriel of the UK and France will exclusively only make thier own. I'm only commenting as we're well in to the early stages of WW3. The Russians and Chinese have consolidated and nationalised thier defence industry while NATO will field a hogpodge of equipment, with obvious logistical issues.

totally agree, suits are making money off the back of this shite, while our Boyz have to deal with the consequences of not having a IFV.... JOKE
Yes general dynamics are sparing no expense, unfortunately it's British taxpayers money they're not sparing. And the real kicker, the price has grown aswell!! We don't need American companies to rip the public off, we've got plenty of home grown companies of our own that can do that!
EVRITHINGS BY GENERAL DYNAMICS IS DOUBLE PRICE FOR LOW QUALITY!!!! Romanian amphious Piranha 5 sunk!!!
The Ajax is an overinflated, pointless, over engineered metal box that is only known for making soldiers deaf. I really have doubts about the 'Insanely Armored' claim too, at the end of the day its just an IFV, it doesn't have MBT levels of protection...
its seems that they just put extra stuff on it all the time i like the gun though but that turret can be fitted almost in any armored vehicle that can support the power consumption that the turret needs
idk why they spent 2 billion developing a metal box that rattles soldiers to deafness. they could have very easily taken the CV90 platform, or Rheinmetall Lynx platform, or the Hanwha platform and just developed their own turret for it to have the censors and gun that they wanted.
but even then, in my inexperienced opinion the vehicle just seems too big for a recce vehicle that is replacing the CVRT platform
@@Redavv
impenetrable protection lol
like unsinkable ship
L’Eggo with Eggo
that fucking caption gave me a stroke
They should have purchased the cv90. Maybe they would have got them in service on time if they had .instead of wasting taxpayer's money on another problematic project
Oh yea let's buy a vehicle from the late 1980s to fight a future war great plan there 😂
You've obviously not read the reviews or seen the latest version, or noticed why a lot of European countries are buying CV90
How you want fighting if still destroy by ICBM.😊
In my opinion there is not enough defense against cheap drones. Some automatic defense should exist
jamming device maybe can do the trick
Fire trucks version.
we are selling you this and you WILL buy it.
All well and good until you actually have to use it.
Send it to Ukraine to have a real test.
Don't mention Ukraine, don't mention Ukraine, don't mention Ukraine...
Ukraine
Obviously you have met no one that's driven or rode in same..over budget, hyped and completely outdated before its even in service.
Weighs almost as much as a t99 proryv..... What a waste of money
GODDAM ‼️
engine had to be rear position. when driving on mine then new engine has to be ordered
Well then, the British military should send a couple to the Ukrainians and see how it actually performs in a combat situation against the Russians.
it cannot perform at the moment we all know this......... SADge
Its not ground breaking its a total pile of dumpster..... at £28.5m each is the most expensive troop carrier ever manufactured....dump it now and order CV90's
its shite - shook the crew to death and made them ill, too big, for ISR not armoured enough to take on tanks
A disaster.
This is the biggest piece of junk it is so noisy it caused earring damage
It's a sack of shite! Components not fitting correctly, the entire suspension, drive train and tracks aren't fit for purpose. I'd get my money back!
Carbage to Russian weapon
An un maned turret would had been a lot better
unmanned is almost always better the crew is safer and unmanned turrets have a lower profile and are many times smaller making them stronger harder to spot and harder to hit
SO BAD no Any New techonology _ Namer MUCH BETTER
Namer is just a mercava without the turret though
Pure junk
*When u hear military content creators use the term "impenetrable" in relation to ANYTHING...* 🫣🤕
Hard to take them serious ever again.
