It’s really terrible people make you feel like you need to explain yourself so much or try and put you down. I think it’s great you all decided you wanted to move and did it. @suzanne296 the healthcare questions always get me. A lot of European countries have universal healthcare. My father has been through 8 years of cancer including treatment, surgery etc and it has cost essentially nothing.

Regarding the Amazon packages I left instructions that they can leave it in my doorstep, just ring a neighbour's bell and leave it in front of my door, but I know my neighbours pretty well, and we're just 8 units in my apartment building. And still the delivery guy usually calls to make sure if we're home or if he can leave it :)

Bendiciones 🙏🏼
You are living a dream of many American people. My husband is ready to move to Spain any day! Don’t listen to haters with no manners or life experience. Big kitchen can’t make you happy 😂 I am proud of you and how you are embracing the change 🤍🤍🤍
Completely understand living with less is the ultimate contentment. We downsized and I live in a much smaller and “older” space but we’re happy and content also. 😊
Since they do everything later there do their work schedules and schools start later too? I would love that because it would give more time to relax or do some things at home before starting the day.
Your kitchen is aesthetically pleasing and cosy. Your flat in the centre of Alicante is marvellous. People are jealous of you living in Spain, which beats the USA any day! If you eat dinner at 9 p.m. that’s considered early in Spain, it can be 10 p.m. or even later! Amazon will leave parcels with a neighbour or nearby business, if you have a chat with them beforehand. You can also offer to reciprocate for your neighbours' packages. Disfruta!
I would much rather live in Spain than the U.S. My reasons are different from others, but I would not miss having a car for one. I loved taking the train between Madrid, Sevilla, and Malaga ❤ I also like walking around the city and discovering new places! Love this vlog Ale🎉
Living in Spain is healthier...You exercise more and eat better...And you don't have to worry about the doctors bills like here in the US if you get sick
I’m happy to watch any and all of your videos but I was curious if you’ll be flying again with your American carrier. Stay well. Enjoy your new country. I love seeing all the new things you and. Your family are experiencing 😊
The US isn’t what it was anymore and that’s the hard truth, anyone saying otherwise is completely blind, I’ve visited Spain countless times and have family there and I absolutely love it, as soon as I can I’ll leave the US and move over there, I love it, it’s a different world.
Places change nothing stays the same. I am from Los Angeles and most places have changed or don't exist anymore which makes me sad. However, I have traveled to many countries and I am always glad when I return to my city. The rest of the country is a different story, I would never live in any other state or city in the US. The only other city I have loved almost as much is Tokyo.
May I say, you are speaking Spanish, maybe not Castillano but it’s still Spanish. South American Spanish is different, slightly, there are some nuances in Grammar and general vocabulary too. One word I remember was car. In Castillano it is coche and I remember mySpanish Teacher at Secondary school in Trinidad 🇹🇹 saying in S America it was caro/carro. Don’t know if it’s changed but that always stuck with me. Anyway, good luck and best wishes.
Due to all that walking done daily , you’ll see senior citizens walking without any assistance.i love Spain and is my dream to live there at least part time, not sure which part yet.
Nice! Thanks for satisfying some of my curiosity. Yeah, the majority US economy is based on consumer spending. Especially in Orlando with addition to their services industry. So, I can imagine the cultural change in that aspect.
Nyc and Madrid is not that different in some ways . I also lived in the U.S. City with the most People from Madrid in the World. MIAMI Opportunities in general are better in the U.S but that depends so does the Lifestyle (allways depends on the area wherever you are) I would argue Spain is Great Not Perfect but I feel at home there Lots of Festivities often with a Religious background , the small and huge Events like no other I love that there is authentic Culture instead of Multiculturalism. And I like the Regional differences. I assume you are in Madrid That is good Choice for a young Professional.
Hi @wondfullyale I just found your channel. My adult kids n I want to move to Europe hopefully next year. Have you been to Italy? We were thinking of Italy.
Saludos. Desayuno, ligero, almuerzo a media mañana mas contundente.
Are you at Swallow coffee shop? That looks like this cute coffee shop my husband and I went to in June on our trip to Alicante! We love it there so much! I love watching your life there. Also hello from a United flight attendant! x
More than culture when it comes to eating hours and lifestyle, it is a historical fact that comes back to spanish Civil War and the dictator Franco and Hitler being very good friends. Franco wanted Spain to be synched with Berlin so he decided to use their time zone (before that we were using the correct GMT). Yes those little rarities despots and dictators tend to have. This affects us in the time we just...live. Time zones are synched with the sun and our lives too. When in Berlin the morning starts (usually around 6am) it is still dark night (not Dark Knight) in Spain but because we use their time (I don't know how to name it in English) it is 6am for us too but physically it is 5am. That's why we start our day between 1 and a half (average) hours later than most countries. And that's why we eat, finish working, go to sleep equally later.
Do you find yourself trying to live/eat etc the way you did in the US? Do families that are from Spain live the same ways generally that you guys are or are you living an Americanized version of Spain? If that makes sense
Same way in Mexico ..... I would go to stores and they were closed from 2 to 4: 00pm ..... Now this was in small towns in Mexico I'm not sure about the big town but I'm sure it's the same!!
part 2 please. I have a question. how much is the rent for a 2 or 3 bedroom apt over there compared to the same 2 or 3 bedroom apt in USA? I'm asking because I don't know what size apt you have there. I know there furnished there and not here. but just the difference between Apt's. a big shock is you have to take the boys on a city bus to school. and here they ride a school bus. also there school day is shorter. Is the school year the same amount of months? thank you for sharing.
it's hard to say, because there are a lot of factors that play into this. but when we were looking for apts, they would range between 700-1300 euros. depending on the area, and if the owners were trying to take advantage because we were coming from the US.
Spain is lovely. Thank you for sharing. Please share healthcare practices in Spain. Would love to see that. The USA isn't what it was. Not to mention retirement in the USA is super expensive. So happy for you Ale!
The walking thing. We have just got back to the UK from Orlando on vacation. I am used to getting around in my electric wheelchair, everywhere. but Orlando was definately set up for cars and getting the wheelchair in and out of a car to just go a couple a minutes down the street just because there was no pavement or you didnt know there would be a pavement was very hard for me to comprehend. Also I dont know if this is a cultural thing but here in the UK when we walk our dogs we alway use Poopy bags and pick up after them. While staying at a dog friend hotel in Orlando just after the evacuation I saw multiple dogs walked and their owners never picked up after them is this a "thing" in the USA and what about Spain?
ALE, ANY VIDEO YOU POST DEAR IS GOING TO BE WONDERFUL 😍. I ❤ TO WATCH THEM ALL. DAY IN THE LIFE, GROCERY HAULS, VACATIONS, FLIGHT ✈️ ATTENDANT ONES....ALL GREAT 👍. YOU'RE AN AMAZING MOTHER AND WIFE. TAKE CARE DEAR AND GOD BLESS YOU 🙏✨. PS I'D ❤ TO SEE SOME OLD CHURCHES AND MUSEUMS WITH PAINTINGS FROM THE LOCALS AND MASTERS.
Not having a decent clothes dryer would be hard for me to deal with, and not having a shower curtain or glass door is shocking. Not sure about Spain but I was shocked when we got to Florence and there was a shower and NO curtain OR door. LOL My niece had a "we room" bathroom in Copenhagen where the hand held shower head was hung on the side of the sink and the bathroom was all time and it was a wet room. Hilarious. You can see I pick the MOST important things. Don't worry, there is a gal on here that lives in France and explains differences all the time. She also says it's not good, or bad, it just is. That's how it's done in France and WE in the US do it differently. Frankly I LOVE the public transportation in Europe. It is so great to be able to get around and it's easy to use and if you are careful how you do it, it's pretty affordable.
In spain we have shower curtains and glass doors, yes. Im surprised other places dont have that 😮. The clothes dryer thing... I never had one and never needed it😅 also why waste electricity for that when I can just simply put it outside? It may take a little to dry, but I mean, I have more clothes haha. But yes, its how you said. Its just different ways of doing things.
The US is one of a kind it’s beautiful. We have so many unlimited amount of resources I go back-and-forth between Europe and the US I live in the US but the lifestyle that I have here in the US is minimalistic so whether I’m here in the US or Spain/Europe they’re both the same for me. :)
👋😎 Greetings from across the pond. I've seen news articles about rain and flooding in Spain. I hope you all are safe. By the way: Does the rain in Spain fall mainly on the plain? 😂
Number 1 I absolutely love Spain!! It’s one of my most favs!!! Girl if people only knew how wonderful it is to be there. Girl stop reading the haters crap they put out!! You’re in the right place for your family. If I could move there I would. Just relax and forget how things are here in the states. I go there for the way they live their lives. Believe me if I can make it happen I will be back many times. Girl these people can hide behind their screens and don’t have to answer. I’m here and I’m sure so many more are too. I bet the haters have never been abroad because if they have more than a few times they would not have crap to say bad. Girl you’re fine just do your family. That’s what I’m here for. Can you throw in some restaurant reviews though 😂 I think that would be great.
As someone who speaks both, I can still understand British english with no problem (besides a few words) but I can get by with no problem. Spain spanish is so different. Things are articulated differently, different words etc.
@BobelSilencioso-g2i you’re telling me I’m not bilingual? 🤣 I am fluent in Spanish, I grew up I. A Spanish only speaking household. I stand by what I said. Also, I went to school in El Salvador as well.

I'm so glad to see where you are at right now - your not so fancy kitchen, you walking and using public transport, buying less etc. It's real ❤
Thanks for another great video my dear❤ I wish all the good things
Thank you! You too!
So glad you are adapting to the new location and lifestyle. Less is more in a different way of thinking.
You are living a dream of many American people. My husband is ready to move to Spain any day! Don’t listen to haters with no manners or life experience. Big kitchen can’t make you happy 😂
I am proud of you and how you are embracing the change 🤍🤍🤍
I would like a part 2. Love your content 🎉🎉
Great video! I hope to see more like this!! ❤
Yes, please, vlog a part 2.
Completely understand living with less is the ultimate contentment. We downsized and I live in a much smaller and “older” space but we’re happy and content also. 😊
Since they do everything later there do their work schedules and schools start later too? I would love that because it would give more time to relax or do some things at home before starting the day.
yes, most businesses open later and the work day ends later as well.
Great vlog, Ale.
Thank you!!
I'd love to see a part 2. I agree that your new life has so many attractions. What was the motivation to move to Spain?
We've always loved spain, and we just decided to move here! We also have family here, so that helps!
Thanks for sharing. Have an amazing weekend. 👍
I’m happy to watch any and all of your videos but I was curious if you’ll be flying again with your American carrier. Stay well. Enjoy your new country. I love seeing all the new things you and. Your family are experiencing 😊
Maybe at some point, but right now i'm on leave.
I see more businesses being closed on Sundays. Like the smaller stores in the US. I live in So cal.
It definitely wasn’t like that for me growing up in SoCal
@@WonderfullyAle maybe it's a new thing recently because I am orginally from Nor cal and it wasnt like that up there
I must have missed the video, are you not working for any airlines now? Still love your vlogs keep them coming.
I'm on leave right now.
The US isn’t what it was anymore and that’s the hard truth, anyone saying otherwise is completely blind, I’ve visited Spain countless times and have family there and I absolutely love it, as soon as I can I’ll leave the US and move over there, I love it, it’s a different world.
@@joseadorno292 I totally agree with you. So sad what our beautiful country has become. I wish you luck in your future move 🙏
@@janebarscz5130Canada is so different these days too. If I were 20 years younger I would consider changing Countries.
Where in Spain?
@@janebarscz5130 Thank you🤍
May I say, you are speaking Spanish, maybe not Castillano but it’s still Spanish.
Was wondering what made you want to move? Also, what does George do for a living? Would love to see places in Spain.
I have a whole video explaining why we wanted to move :)
Well said!
Nyc and Madrid is not that different in some ways .
I also lived in the U.S. City with the most People from Madrid in the World. MIAMI
Opportunities in general are better in the U.S but that depends so does the Lifestyle (allways depends on the area wherever you are)
I would argue Spain is Great
Not Perfect but I feel at home there
Lots of Festivities often with a Religious background ,
the small and huge Events like no other
I love that there is authentic Culture instead of Multiculturalism.
And I like the Regional differences.
I assume you are in Madrid
That is good Choice for a young Professional.
You're definitely getting your steps in!!!
Yea, a part 2 would be great....also more flight attendant vlogs would be great 👍
It'll be a while for those vlogs, since i'm on leave right now.
@@WonderfullyAle o ok 👍
Hi @wondfullyale I just found your channel. My adult kids n I want to move to Europe hopefully next year. Have you been to Italy? We were thinking of Italy.
My mom is french(France) and she has mentioned how different French-Canadian french is from France french.
Get yourself one of the old lady shopping trolleys. Will 100% help with your shopping....
I have one 😊
Do they have leases on cars. That would be different
they do!
Saludos. Desayuno, ligero, almuerzo a media mañana mas contundente.
Are you at Swallow coffee shop? That looks like this cute coffee shop my husband and I went to in June on our trip to Alicante! We love it there so much! I love watching your life there. Also hello from a United flight attendant! x
no, I was at Madness! But Swallow Coffee Shop is in my list of coffee shops to visit.
I think your place is great. So close to everything.
I keep hearing that it's the same in mexico!
1.Are planning on staying in Spain long term?
2. Are you still a flight attendant?
3. How far from the beach are you?
Part 2 please
part 2 please.
Do you plan on going back to flying/working for your airline?
Spain is lovely. Thank you for sharing. Please share healthcare practices in Spain. Would love to see that. The USA isn't what it was. Not to mention retirement in the USA is super expensive. So happy for you Ale!
Will do!
Thank you so much for your kind comment! ♥️
I think that your apartment looks very nice.
I can see how coming from car dependent cities like Orlando and Dallas could be culture shocked by living in a walkable city.
I’m curious if you still work for your airline:). If so how does that work.
Marie
She explained it in her vlog last week 😊
I'm still employed with my airline, but i'm not flying at the moment. I'm on leave.
Spain more similar to the USA compared to Italy or France..
(Holland, Spain, Sweden & UK are very similar to the USA..)
How interesting.
Thank you so much! I'd love to review restaurants!
Are the boys fluent in Spanish as well? Or are they leaning now?
They spoke Spanish prior to moving here, but we didn’t speak it daily, they’re becoming more fluent now
Curious how you are working
I'm not working right now. I'm on leave.
I was just reading something about how the Spanish language differs between Spain and Latin America (no, I only speak English…..but was curious).
@BobelSilencioso-g2iThat's not true in my opinion. Spanish from Spain (aka european spanish) is very different from Latin American spanish.
Bueno, como dicen en inglés, we will agree to disagree.
