    Thanks for the tip to choose a kick for the bass and not the other way around

    Thanks for this. Simple and well explained, and you’re not the only one that wears slippers in the studio!

    So I got to witness this first hand in my one2one lesson with Adam. I was always fighting to make my sub gel with the kick and even though to my ears it was good but in fact way off. Applied these methods and a night and day result to my kick and sub. I guess also a bit scared to push the sub heavy which was, now looking back at it, making my tracks sound flat. They now sound rocking. Great tutorial mate your methods are making us great producers 🙏🙏❤️
    Also I believe the reason club systems are mono is to keep the music/sound balanced throughout the club. Someone may correct me there though 😂

    Great tutorial, I learned so much about sub basses and that I’ve been doing it all wrong. Now going back and redoing it on the track I’m working on. Thanks for explaining it in layman’s terms.

      @@adamellistutorials it was too loud and clashing with the kick too much. I was also over complicating it. By the way, I have all of Allan Morrow’s kick, bass, pluck etc sample packs and I find them really useful and good. I bought a load of them in sale and promotions and it worked out to be really inexpensive.

    I use a SUBPAC. Easy to get balanced, and then it allows you to actually feel what’s going on. It’s levelled up my low end mixing ability.
    Bonus is that it feels great and totally absorbs you into the track.
    Tell mark I said hello too. 😜

    Amazing work here showing the relationship between the kick and the sub. It was also helpful for many to give examples of when the kick does NOT match the sub. This seems so simple and yet, if done wrong, it can destroy the foundation of the track. Oh, and that groove was amazing!

    could you do a video on counter melodies with effects in uplifting trance (like the ones you had on your billie eilish remix) and more specifically when to use them with arps and what not and when not to use them

    Kick & Sub, although it only makes up 2 channels out of 80+ is literally half the track's potency. You can mix every other channel perfectly but if your kick and sub arent up to par, the whole track sounds horrible. Sub is too loud? Everything else sounds weak. Kick too soft? Track has no energy and weight supporting it.
    Despite its apparent simplicity, getting the kick and sub relationship perfect is extremely important. Experiment with different styles of sub- off beat 8th notes, off beat double 16th notes, three 16th notes or a techno rumble.

      Yeh it’s the entire framework of your track. If it’s not right, nothing else will be right.

    Adam, I mainly produce psytrance and there, the kick and bass phase relation is important. Should you phase align your kick and sub here as well?

    • @adamellistutorials
      @adamellistutorials  Месяц назад

      Kick and Psy bass is a different animal. There is a lot more that goes into it.

    Adam; that subtractive EQ at 30Hz though varies depending on the kick’s peak though right? For example; I’m finding most kicks peak around 50Hz-55Hz; so I boost the kick a little at this point and subtract the bass at that point to.

    • @adamellistutorials
      @adamellistutorials  Месяц назад

      No. I never touch it ever. The theory of adding what you remove makes no sense. Why remove it in the first place to the re add it?
      I just leave the same cut on every single bass and then do the additive eq sweep you see me do.

    • @djcarlosdematos
      @djcarlosdematos Месяц назад

      @@adamellistutorials I mean you boost the kick at its peak and reduce the same frequency but on the sub bass
