Ogogoro is local gin but vodka is properly distilled alcohol that has gone through proper manufacturing process. They are not on the same category
Thanks for the breakdown on this. Pinned 🙂
Ogogoro better pass vodka. Na una no dey value una own because no be oyinbo piple make am.
Love this. A lovely addition to the ecosystem. Fab❤

Mental what? 🤔
Ghanaian here. Love the Yoruba songs to the core even though I don't understand them lol. Been listening to this one for like a week now and I'm so happy I found this breakdown. Thanks for sharing this.
New subscriber!
Hey glad this was helpful and nice to have you 🙂
As a Nigerian I must say you did really good and gained a new subscriber
Thanks and nice to have you
Well done 😂
A correction pls! I love Àsàké so much and he don't just call himself "Mr Money", he adopted the nickname just as every other persons bearing Òlòlàdé nicknamed themselves Mr Money. The nickname originated from a very popular 2001 Old Yoruba movie titled: Òlòlàdé Mr Money. The character of Òlòlàdé in that movie was a rich and successful man after a lot of backlash life gave him. Since 2001, everyone bearing Òlòlàdé as a name are nicknamed Money or Mr Money. Àsàké should be 6 years of age when the when people strated using the nickname.
I have listened to the music uncountable times today. I love it. To me the song is not targeting his fans like us but enemies on the borderline of success in the music industry because Àsàké is an household name in Nigeria as of today.
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the translation. The way it's going, I have to learn Yoruba, too. I love the song so much.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧👍🏻
Lol I’m glad you like it and I hope you get to pick up and learn more words here and there
I love your analysis babe. This shows you're a Nigerian and infact a Yoruba girl.
Ashake's Lonely @ the Top, is a true an I don't care attitude of someone that's poised to achieve his goals without minding any distraction from nobody, @ any level or anyhow.
This is practicable for anybody that wanna achieve greater height in life.
Live your life, don't live a fake life, copy people or imitate them, because your destiny isn't the same with theirs and also your wants are not the same.
Love this lyrics so much.❤❤❤
Thanks and I love your analysis too! Very very true. May we have strength to get to our goals 🫶🏾
Thank you, thank you so much, as an Nigerian diaspora I really wanted to know the meaning of this beautiful song🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I’m glad to help!
"Ogogoro no be vodka." Ogogoro is a type of local Nigerian alcoholic drink made from palm sap. Vodka, on the other hand, is a clear distilled alcoholic beverage originating from Russia and Poland, typically made from fermented grains or potatoes.
The statement emphasizes that although both are alcoholic drinks, they are not the same and should not be confused. The implication could be cultural, suggesting the uniqueness and distinct nature of each beverage, or practical, highlighting differences in taste, potency, or preparation . Asake is trying to use this to emphasize his superiority.
Very well said and you explained it so well. Thank you!!! I'm always amazed by the knowledge everyone shares.
You are a gifted translator. Well done 100% u really got the lyrics line by line 👍🏽

You've been a great help Simbi. I always wanted to know the meaning of different nigerian artists and this one gave me a lot(o po) of light...😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤❤love from 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
O po 😂 thanks so much. Much love to South Africa 🤎
I love this translation. There are a lot of Yoruba words that are the same or similar to my language Ewe (Mina), a dialect close to Egun.
I def won’t be surprised. What are a few of these words?
@@Simbihawt these:
Eti = Eto in ewe
Kan mi = Kan mi in ewe which means it doesn’t concern us (Mou kan mo is, it doesn’t concern me)
Idi= egbi
Mo duro tan = Mou tote tan or Mou tote ton (I have waited too long or so much)
Because we speak French in my country we say Mou rather than “Mo”
That’s so many in just one song 😂 lol I can only imagine the others. You mentioned in your country. Which country is that?
@@Simbihawt lol. Togo but my language is also spoken in Benin republic and Ghana.
Oh okay nice. Yes when you told me the Ewe language earlier I googled it and saw multiple countries
Wow, kudos to you girl for your translation and interpretation of that track. You did a good job.

Ogogoro is a Yoruba town in ilaje Ondo state. Thats where it was first distilled before it spread according to the town history.
I watched 👀 to see if I could fault you but damn! You did a yeoman's job. O se, you're the BOMB! I suspect you're a Nigerian-American.
