Loved your energy and liked your video a lot. Thank you for the detailed information. I wanted to know if i reach there at 7am, will there be someone at the registration centre to let me in? Also do i need to carry any identity card as i will be a tourist from india?
Loved it! Thanks so much for the great video Im planning to hike this weekend! Did it take 4 hours going up and another 4 hrs going down? So a total of almost 8 hours?
Not a problem mate... As for hiking overnight, quite often these need to be done with guide groups but rules do change. I would call Jebel Jais, or RAK Tourism to get a gauge on latest rules.

Is a guide required for this hike or is the trail self explanatory ? .. And I must say , That you are doing a great job. Your channel is the exact kind of channel out door enthusiasts like me living in the UAE needs. Keep going.. Looking forward to watching more of your content..
Hi Ahmed, hope you're well. You don't need a guide once you set off. Park at the Viewing Deck Car Park and it's pretty self explanatory from there with plenty of signs / markings to keep you on the right track. Thank you for your kind words... glad you are enjoying the content!
Hey mate, thanks for the comment. You can't get to the actual summit of Jebel Jais as it is in Oman. But the view from the highest UAE public point are just as worth it! Hope you enjoy it!
I have been there yesterday and dont understand why they call it "highest public point" as 30 meters above, there is where the zipline starts, so that is accessible as well and you are higher. Anyway we did not stop here and continued all the way up. Around the fence of Sheikhs summer house, first we reached Western peak at 1910 and then continued those like 300 meters to Oman to reach the very peak of Jebel Jais at 1934. There is + - marked pathway with stone stairs from here and there so I think lot of people are using this way. You should edit your video to motivate ppl to go all the way up and not to stop at these tourist trap signs :)
I know what you mean. My only thought is the zipline is a booked experience and you can only go there with the zipline tour staff so not technically free to the public. Next time I will do an expanded hike further along the path :)
Interesting. Is the summit elevation on that board at 3:23 correct? 1415m? I presume some civil survey went into that. If I plot this route on Strava, you get points on the road at the summit that are greater than 1600m. What do you believe? In my previous experience with summits, the advertised elevations are often quite off. Is that sign right at the very top?
Ho Ron, the first elevation featured at 3.23 is not the high point of Jebel Jais. That is the first high point you reach on the trail and the first designated rest point. The true highest public point in the UAE is later in the video at 1,640m. Hope that helps.
Hi, I'm planning to tackle this in a few weeks but we were discussing leaving early to reach the peak for sunrise. Would you have any suggestions, or advise against doing it in the early hours? Thinking to start around 4am
That sounds great! Of course you need to make sure are properly prepared, lights, torches etc. Without daylight you’ll need to concentrate on the path. It can also be a bit cold before the sun comes up so pack some warm clothing. I know lots of people who have walked up for sunrise - enjoy!
Hi tom planning to climb here on 26 of december. How is the hike for beginners? Are the trails easy enough for us to follow? My concern is we might get lost 😁.. And is it the same journey climbing up to going down??.
Hi there! Yeah the tracks are good! Well signposted and marked with colour markings too. They are easy to follow. To reach the summit you will follow the Ghaf Summit 7 signs. And yes, it is the same way down as it is up! Enjoy your hike up there!

Hey ive red that highest point is on Jabal Bil Ays (summit is in Oman). You know sth about it?
Not been myself but Jebel Jais is the highest ‘public’ point in the UAE - the other higher summits are home to military bases 🙂

No charge - it’s free to hike :)
What is the cost of registration?
It’s free! Just AED 5 to park there.
What time of year did you do this mate?
Are you not allowed to go up those extra 300m to the Oman summit?
Hi Tim, filmed this in August mate. So take a jumper if you;re doing it in winter incase you feel a bit chilly when you stop hiking!

Hi - not on the hiking path but there is kits of road cycling in the area.
