    Thanks for creating this video. I was changing a starter and broke the exact same tube on this filler neck on a 2007 Sienna. It was literally rotten. Not sure why just this portion of the tube was deteriorated. Was all set to replace the radiator when I saw the replacements didn't come with a radiator cap. More research took me to your video. You saved me a lot of time and money. One note for everyone doing this, the clip comes with the Dorman replacement as does the spacer and o-ring. Also, the clip guides that secure the filler neck to the radiator tube are directional. In that the clip will only go on one way. If one side doesn't snap in place, remove it, flip around and install it. The retainers are tapered.

      I've just finished installing a new Denso radiator on my 07 Sienna. The neck that came with it wiggles, and only noticed that after finishing the last step which is putting back the air-intake duct. I stopped right there and didn't fill the coolant yet, checking if I can get a different neck. Guys, any idea!!

    This video just saved me from paying $750 to my local crooked dealership service department. They insisted that the Sienna required a full radiator replacement instead of just this part. Such total BS. Thank you greatly for making this video.

    Thanks for the video! I had trouble getting the old one off at first. I was afraid that I would break my radiator if I pried it too hard. Spraying PB Blaster in the slots on either side and then working the part around helped a lot and it came right off after that!

    PLEASE NOTE: THE NEW DORMAN FILLER NECK ON AMAZON HAS THE FLANGE AND O-RING ALREADY INSTALLED INSIDE OF THE NECK. Once I figured this out, installing the new one was literally a "snap". Not realizing this can result in a broken radiator!!

    I just completed this repair myself, and forgot to put antifreeze in the overflow tank and bleed the system. I'm wondering if that's why the van continues to overheat.

    • @hesmanpro
      @hesmanpro  Год назад

      I did not drain the coolant to replace the filler neck, what I lost I just topped off after the install, but if you drained the coolant then bleeding the system is a must. There is a great video by the car care nut on RUclips.

  • @tiredoldman9414

    when you are installing the replacement neck (around 7:10) - you put the O-ring back on, there is a "wedding ring" looking thing that is already on the radiator side (it moves slightly in your video when placing the O-ring). It looks like both the O-ring and the "wedding ring" are both inside of the new replacement filler neck. I'm pretty sure when the new filler neck is pushed on the radiator, that O-ring rolls onto the "wedding ring" since there is a track that seems to hold the O-ring perfectly. Does that sound right? Thanks for the great video.

    • @hesmanpro
      @hesmanpro  3 года назад

      Yes, the o ring and the "spacer" come with the new filler neck. So use it instead. Get rid of the old ones. Also, read old comments here to hear what others have to say of the install. I left out a few steps.

      So helpful. I guess a 15 year old delicate piece of plastic couldn’t handle being tapped by a 50 lbs. battery. Broke in the exact same place. You were right on with Patience being the key to the removal. If I hadn’t seen your video I would probably have called a mechanic. Thanks a bunch.

      hello I ordered the OEM toyota part, took the old one off I didn't see any wedding ring in the radiator shaft. Replacement neck filler has 3 pieces the O ring inside and the locking nut. I can't get it to click.

    Here are further instructions that I found on the Amazon page for the new Dorman: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JW1WU1A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#Ask
    NOTE: Step #6 states that the new neck has an O-ring INSIDE of it, which may explain why it has been so challenging to install the new one since I've been trying to force it on, potentially with TWO O-rings.

      MKA 1919 - it should. 2010 Is the same body style as 2008. They changed the design for 2011, so should work.
