    Thanks for the vid - you saved me mucho bucks - my repair guy thought this part was part of the radiator & said I'd need to replace the whole thing!
    Your camera work made it easy to follow.
    I found using a medium sized flat head screwdriver between the part and the radiator connector and twisting it left and right helped loosen the part slowly without breaking anything.

    Nice job. Came in handy today after a battery tech switching out my batter took out my RX350 filler neck yesterday. I would never have attempted the repair without your clear example. Car is now functioning well and no multiday, multi hassle repairs with another garage. Peace and THANK YOU

    Sir.. I owe you a beer and dinner. You saved me $300 by not replacing the whole radiator. And I take back all the bad words I said about a sucking design... that was before I knew you could replace this part only. Keep them coming!

    great and clear demonstration, exact same thing happened to my Toyota radiator neck

    Thanks for the video. I couldn't believe that this piece was baked to the point where both nipples shattered.
    My Toyota Sienna started to have the check engine, service engine, VSC and other lights come on. I took it to the mechanic and they missed that my water was low.
    When I got home the water had all disappeared from the radiator.
    The swap out took about 20 minutes because I had to clean out the hoses which had plastic stuck in them

    Thanks for making this video. I just broke the same part in the same place after replacing the cooling fan assembly. Nice video, short and to the point!

    I just replaced one today. Vehicle was 17 years old. The clip broke off as it had no spring and I had to pry it so hard I was afraid I might break something.
    But it eventually came off.

    thanks guys for the video. In my case the whole neck is broken from the plastic base. Do I need to change the whole Radiator?

    Had to give that gasket ring a little tap. It wouldn’t go in on one side.

    This just happen to me today while at Walmart. The little piece broke off from coolent neck. Then antifreeze sprayed everywhere and my vehicle got hot and started smoking!! Pretty scary at the time. Thanks for the video I just replaced it. What would of caused this?? Was the piece just old an brittle,or could it of been something else? Like a thermostat?

      Depending on how old your car is the part just wore out with age. My 2008 G35 had the same problem last week then I changed the radiator filler neck and it solved the problem

    For whatever reason I could not slide this piece on my radiator. I think I spit on it and it still would not slide. Maybe I should have used some lubricant but I do not know what is safe on this type of gasket and plastic. Maybe the kind for radiator hoses. But I ended up damaging the radiator and cracking it by placing a plastic cylinder on the other side (front) of the radiator between the radiator and a metal support and then hammering this part into place. I used some piece of plastic between the hammer and the part, it would have been better with a rubber mallet. But I would not do this at all as it cracked the radiator where the cylinder was on the front of the radiator end.

    I couldn't get the filler neck to go all the way back far enough. Or that notch lines up with the opening completely?

    How did you get the broken tip out of the hose?

    • @welcome2myworld1.o89
      @welcome2myworld1.o89 6 лет назад +2

      Another Virgo Asshole needle nose pliers is what I used on mine. But, make sure the line is facing down when you do so. That way nothing goes into the radiator.

      Thanks for the reply. I just cut the hose off right behind the stuck plastic piece. Still had plenty of hose left to make the connection.

    • @flyboy61b
      @flyboy61b 5 лет назад +4

      I held the hose so that it was facing downward and crushed the plastic with some pliers around the hose and the pieces just fall out. Make sure it is facing down. :-)

      How would I know if the broke tip is inside the hose or that it fell off?

    • @Bankable2790
      @Bankable2790 3 года назад +1

      @@Caesarbby you’ll see it. Think I used a thin flathead screwdriver and pried the pieces off the inside of the rubber line then used needle nosed pliers to pull the pieces out

    This is my issue with my Lexus. The silver clamp isn’t there and we had to jury rig it with a zip tie around the tube to hold it on. Do I need a new clamp or a whole new filler part?

  • @rabar537

    This part is a manufacturer's scam, they break on all vehicles, designed to fail, forced u to purchase new radiator, get it...

    Must use WD-40 or likes, let it soak for 20 mins, then gradually ply the neck out.

    Thanks for the video! I had trouble getting the old one off. I was afraid that I would break my radiator if I pried it too hard. I sprayed PB Blaster in the slots on either side and worked it around. That helped a lot and it came right off after that. I got the idea for the PB Blaster from another RUclips video: ruclips.net/video/nkxFTf7MLcM/видео.html

    Lol minimal waste? It’s coolant, just add whatever you “wasted” in water or coolant. I doubt changing the top piece of the cooling system would waste much coolant.
