Calla Lily

Today I had a go at forging a Calla Lily and I could not make my mind up on how I was going to make it, eventually I forged welded the middle section in even though I didn't think that was possible but I managed it!

Oscar , i think you can still do a forge weld, you need to cover the thing material with clay and it will help to protect it during high heat procedures....i think!!

Ahhhhh yes the clay trick good idea should have thought of that!

Lovely piece absolutely stunning. Will definately be having a go at this in my home forge. Brilliant heat control for the forge weld I know how hard that is! Have you got a facebook page I could follow oscar?
