Thanks man! I just bought a mini for a daily driver a few months ago and just now found out they have turbos😂😂 already ordered all the parts for this😂😂
It's been a year since the last reply... So... This is the same BOV that I have on my '10 MINI Clubman S. My set up is FBO with a Gecko Suspension and an upgraded bigger BorgWarner Airwerks SX K03 turbo. My intake is the AEM functional ram/cold air intake. The exhaust is a full catless Magnaflow set up with a Milltek catless downpipe. I have a Clutchmasters FX400 street/race clutch and FX400 lightweight flywheel and use a Cravenspeed on-the-fly adjustable short throw shifter. A Malone Tuning stage 3 tune brings everything together. If you are familiar with Malone Tuning then you know that they are worth every penny. Getting them to tune a MINI though is a little pricey because they do not normally deal with them as most of their customers are Audi, BMW, VW and Porshe owners. They will tune your MINI though but you gotta pay for it. My stage 3 tune was a little over $900, BUT it was well worth it (even though I had to do it twice... One for the FBO set-up and then again a couple of months later after I installed the bigger turbo). This Forge BOV really is icing on the cake when it comes to sound. Sometimes it is a little louder than I prefer (usually when I am cruising through school zones and quiet neighborhoods). The hood scoop on the car in this vid seems to be the go-to hood scoop for every MINI enthusiast that I have ever met. Probably because it is the only decent aftermarket hood scoop that one can find. M7 used to offer a killer Vortex scoop that had a similar look to bigger WRX type scoops, but for some reason they stopped making it. My choice of MINI to build being a "Clubman" makes it a crazy sleeper. I actually have to try and get people to mess with me. Where as in my Celica I got picked on every 5 sec. Unfortunately the modded MINI community in Louisville, KY is almost nonexistent. Modded or even slightly modded MINIs are extremely rare. I have no one to compare my build to or even talk about to and that sucks! It your MINIs are like mine then you are getting the last laugh when you are taking out cars 3 times more expensive than yours on the highway! The 60-120 is absolutely crazy in these cars if you build them right!
DArias! Great video. Question: are you using an ECM tuner?, and if so what one? I have the N18 and the security on that ECM severely limits the tuners available. I had a COBB access port for a previous 2009 r56 with a N14, but they don’t support the N18 motor. I have a 2014 r58. Any advice would be great! Keep it up!
Thank you man! And the only like mainly known tuners for the r56 is either manic or rpm for big name guys at least around me! Yes it’s unfortunate the ecu is pretty complex in these cars causing it to be super tough to crack into and change things up.. personally If you’re looking for a tune I would hit up rpm and go that route very good aggressive but safe tunes..I’ve ridden in a few rpm tuned minis even in stock turbos and they’re super quick and fun
great video man as always. i seen you other videos installing the turbosmart. your saying you have problems with forges bov. in your experience. which bov your recommend. i like aloud bov and ofcource quality. turbosmart or forge bov? apreciate your help. have a great day...
I've watched you explain at least a half dozen times the connector won't reach but if you route it correctly it very much will since I've installed a dozen or so of these in the n18 r56
The car sounds amazing. I noticed a lot of pops and bangs was the ECU remapped for that? And if so what is the best way to go about getting it remapped? (I have a countryman s ALL4 and am looking to make it sound a bit better)
Thanks man! And yes the car is tuned. And tbh the best person but tuning These platforms is RPM. Mario from mqubed Motorsports is an extreme on these cars and the tuning. He would be your best option. Also the n18 engine, does pop and bang from the factory when it sport mode but the tune def enhances it more.
2 years late, i have the JCW ALL4. all i did for more pops and bangs was a muffler delete (and put the car into sport mode). it isnt super loud, sounds great to me.
Thanks Diego for all the content you have shared on the Mini, it has been super helpful modding out my '09 R56 S . I'd like to know about your framework in the rear of the car I noticed in this video. Im looking to build up my suspension and stiffen the body for the mountain driving I do and I'm assuming that is a system mounted to the shock towers?. Right now Im physically spent by the time I get over the mountains (but it is so worth it!) and want to increase my traction and minimize any excessive body roll for performance and safety. Any info you can provide will be greatly appreciated! Again, thanks for all the great content!
I asked a question a week ago and your answer was super helpful. I hope I’m not bothering you, but my countryman s ALL4 does not pop at all while downshifting. It’s turbocharged and it’s a Manuel. I’m not sure why, but I think it could possibly be a faulty oxygen sensor. Could that be a cause or is it something else? Thanks
When I bought the kit that u have in your description it didn’t come with the blow off tab under the intake did u get that separate? I’ve seen some where they come with it
My car is bone stock right now and I’m thinking of ordering this BOV this week would I need to tune is right after this install? Or can I drive it without the tune? I plan on tuning it in the near future after I buy all my hardware
No sir a tune really wouldn’t be necessary! The car will run just fine without a tune. Obviously there’s great benefits to tuning but no worries. Purchase and enjoy all the turbo sounds
Hey man, just got done installing mine, not getting a whole lot of noise from it. But have a question, did you loosen the nut and rotate the top of the dump valve to face upward? In the video it looks like both ports are parallel facing down on yours.
Negative no check engine lights at all as long as it’s installed right. It comes with the connector adapter to connect to where the stock dv goes so it works perfectly

Take one out when you have time take it to Lowe’s or Home Depot and match it up they sell the same style bolt that holds the valve in place If you can’t find it
You might have the best sounding Mini I've heard tbh
I wish! But I appreciate that so much man thanks !

really???
He called it an Allen Key! Must have a British influence in his life. Americans call them Allen Wrenches. He's a great guy in any event.
Easy and straight forward good work man 💪🏽
Thank you! And it’s super easy
DArias_ any change in performance ?
Nahhh but it just sounds better and may be placebo but maybe throttle response is a bit better
Easy install and sounds so good!
Thank you! And yes supper easy
Nice video! Install looks so easy p
Thanks !
DArias_ you’re the best !

Good install and informative !
Thank you!
DArias_ what mods are next ?
I’m not sure I wanna do the turbo but tbh I rather start putting that money into the Miata haha
It sounds so good!
Thank you so much!
My favorite mini on RUclips
I wish ! Thank you so much ! Haha there are way nicer ones
The go pro head cam works fine man haha the audio was not bad and the video quality is fine! Not a bad way to film
Thank you! I like it too might use it more
DArias_ any change in performance btw for the blow off valve ? Sounds amazing too!
great video man as always. i seen you other videos installing the turbosmart. your saying you have problems with forges bov.

Cool, installing mine this week
Nice! What car are you installing it on?
What’s your IG so I can see the build

So nice man !
Thanks !!
DArias_ worth getting this? And the install looks easy
Absolutely and it’s super easy to install
Nice install and great sound! Great job Diego
Thank you so much!!
Is this mod a must? Sounds so good when you drive but don’t know if it’s worth it
I think so tbh! May be just in my head but I feel the car is way more responsive now plus obviously sounds better
DArias_ you know how much power the car is making ?
Ehhh I’m not sure my guess would be like 220ish whp and maybe 270ish wheel torque I could be wrong
Did you have to tune it after install ?
Nice man! Never saw this one. Cool intro graphics. Branding!
HeY Bro! Where have you tunned you ECU for the pops and bangs exhaust? Amazing!!
The car sounds amazing. I noticed a lot of pops and bangs was the ECU remapped for that? And if so what is the best way to go about getting it remapped?

I know this is off topic but did you get your harness bar custom fabbed? I can’t find any for my r56 also great video this helped me do my bov
Nice man. How is the quality?
THanks! And the quality is actually pretty good it feels sturdy
Performance improvements ??
Ehhh Idts but for some reason I feel there’s better throttle response
DArias_ so it’s worth getting ?
I think so yes !
Sounds so good!
Well done! good demo & Info, Thanks Diego Arias............ UK
Great vid man. this would basically be the same install for a 2014 countryman right?
Hey Diego how tight do you have your valve?? I watched this and bought one myself for my mini I just don’t know how much to adjust it
Mine was so hard to install without that boost tab and I had trouble fitting it
what year is your mini, seems forge don't make bov for 3rd generation mini
One day I’ll have my mini just like yours! Love your channel!
Thank you! And slow and steady caters the best results
Hi I have the same forged blow valve fitted to mine. But don't make any noise, how do you adjust it to make a sound, do you turn it? Thanks
Yes you have to turn it the tighter you make it the less sound you’ll get but the looser the more
Do you recommend forge intake instead the one u have? And make it take air from the front intercooler?
Thanks Diego for all the content you have shared on the Mini, it has been super helpful modding out my '09 R56 S . I just realized its a harness attachment bar. Sorry. Thanks again for all the helpful content.

Do you still have your stock exhaust?
When I bought the kit that u have in your description it didn’t come with the blow off tab under the intake did u get that separate? I’ve seen some where they come with it
My kit didn’t come with a boost tap, I don’t know what to do bout that
Same here bro
I think he got the recirculate Bov and we have the atmospheric one? Idk
great vid as always. got a fb channel
My car is bone stock right now and I’m thinking of ordering this BOV this week would I need to tune is right after this install? Or can I drive it without the tune? I plan on tuning it in the near future after I buy all my hardware

Were dose the vacum pump line runs to mine disconnected from the back of the motor some were

Will this kit work with the N14 engine?
Yes it will work
@@DArias appreciate it man! I'm brand new to Minis but yours is definitely the nicest one I've seen yet.
Thank you! I truly appreciate the kind words.. any questions lmk I’ll try my best to help!

Mine doesn’t have the boost tap and it’s a 2010 N14 cooper S, do I actually need it?
Is that a Jersey inspection sticker?
Also y the pops I’m the exaust is that good or bad?
R56 or r53 ? Aksking because your PCv valve
This is the r56
what do you have done to your mini?
do you still drive this car?
Does it throw the check engine light on?
Negative no check engine lights at all as long as it’s installed right. It comes with the connector adapter to connect to where the stock dv goes so it works perfectly
Cooper cvlt hell yeah🤙
You know it!
What seats are they in the front ?
These are braum racing seats.. just the standard reclinable with red stitching

Your going to die with those harnesses
Great vid man but God damn the organization under that hood makes me want to cry lol. It's cringworthy
Hahaha thanks man! And yeah I know 🤦🏽♂️ it’s super messy BUT at least it works 😂
@@DArias yeah man. You right haha
Easy to get to???? I cannot get those fkn Allen head bolts off.
Try moving the coolant res out of the way. It gives you much more room. Also depends on the tool you’re using
The best!
