  • I will show you how to use Heat N Bond to adhere two pieces of faux leather together. This is a little bit different from my first video. This technique is a great way to make your Faux Leather earrings double sided.

Thankyou so much for this video! This explanation was a whole lot better than others I have seen.😊

You're welcome! Since I made this video, I prefer to adhere 2 sheets together first and THEN cut the earring shape. It eliminates having to line up the shapes. I hope that makes sense. I then use the knife blade with Tooling leather setting (thickest) on my Cricut Maker machine. I hope that helps!

This was great. What do you do to get rid of the rough edges…

You're welcome! Thank you for watching. Check out my How to apply Heat Transferred Vinyl to the back of faux leather video. That's another option too. They both look great! Happy crafting!

Thank you so much ..better understanding! On the extra piece from center could be used to glue or bond a charm like a heart or turquoise or bullhead!

You are welcome. I'm glad I was able to help. Since I have made this video, I prefer ending a large piece and then cutting my earrings out. It is easier that way and you donr have to worry about lining it up precisely.

Thanks for this looking for ways to make the faux leather kind sturdy since its too flimsy. 😊🙏

You're welcome. I'm glad you enjoyed my video. You can also attach heat transfer vinyl on the backs of the faux leather earrings, but I haven't tried that yet. I really like the earring to be whole, two sided. Thank you for commenting!

If I did not want to waste my faux leather by cutting out a second sheet of it, could I use the heat & bond on matching felt for the backing instead

Some people, including I, use Heat Transferred Vinyl on the back as well. That's the fun of creating, so many options. Thank you for watching and happy crafting!

I really enjoyed your video and thank you so much for making it after I requested. I just got the guts to do it and it wasn’t hard at all. Do you do anything to the edges???

Hi. I'm glad you enjoyed my video. If the back of the fabric is white and very noticeable, I "paint" the edges with a fabric marker.

Thank you! This is very helpful! Is the heat and bond double sided with the adhesive?

You're welcome! I'm so glad you found this helpful. Yes, the Heat And Bond is double sided. I might have caused confusion because I specified adhesive side and paper liner side, but under the paper liner side is adhesive as well. The liner protects the adhesive on that side from sticking to your iron or heat press. Once you remove that liner and place your 2nd piece of fabric on top, the heat you go over it will cause the adhesive to adhere to your fabric.

Can you make intricate cuts with that glitter? My daughter is trying to make snowflake earrings and can’t seem to get it cut. We’re going to use your method.
    Thanks again
    Happy New Year

I have attempted intricate cuts on the Cricut Maker but unfortunately have not been successful. I have seen people do it using a Sizzix machine which uses dies.
