Ah well, finished, yay.
Will do a dissected for the game later on, for now just know I like it a lot.
Companion piece for Sonic boom 3ds in minutes, as this is less a satire/ straight parody and more a hyper version of the game's story (mostly just Lilac's)
Can't wait for all the hilarious Micheal Bay jokes.
Also, title says "Within" 12 minutes, as in, it's over before 12 minutes are reached.
Everyone will ignore that and still make "lol, it's not 12 minute" jokes? Okay.

I feel like you could have made a parody version of the torture scene, where instead of Lilac getting tortured, she just makes a fool out of Brevon and stalls until her friends come to rescue her.
True, could have done that. But her being captured didn't fit nicely in the flow of the rest of the video.

That last scene though, this is what i like about games in (duration) its so funny.
I didn't watch this earlier since I hadn't played the game but now that I finished it, I have to say, I really like the way you captured the whole side scroller "camera is always the same perspective" thing. It definitely made this feel like the game's cutscenes. Even though I know the game had to do cutscenes that way just due to the 2d limitations, I really do like the way it looks in the game. It reminds me a lot of a stage play where the actors are constantly "cheating" toward the audience. Maybe I just like that since I'm a theater person, but either way, I really liked the way you recaptured it.

On a side note, it would've been relatively funnier if you had Merga show up with cookies in the end instead of Brevon, but I guess Freedom Planet 2 wasn't announced yet back then.

Well, that happened.
Yeah, the story was good enough to get me invested, but it being an intentionally classic 2D styled game, the gameplay is what got people sold.
Luxai The fact it's styled after Set piece nisane bosses filled spectacle platformers is what sold it on the gameplay front.
"Just" 2d platforming itself isn't super novel at the moment, there's a heck of a lot more 2d platformers around then 3d ones this generation. But none have the energy and crazyness of Rocket Knight or Treasure games or Classic Sonic.

It's just for this parody that Roger made her playing. It's still kind of weird.

The only downside is the difficulty it is playing as her against bosses, so the best to play as overall for power is definitely Lilac, though it's hard to say whether she is better to play as instead of Carol.

I think the game deserves to be taken as it's own product rather then just a Sonic knock off.
Roger van der Weide Great, I agree with that! It utilizes elements of Genesis and early Saturn 2D games rather than just Sonic anyway, like how Shovel Knight paid tribute to side-scrolling NES games but also achieved its own identity.
