I feel like you could have made a parody version of the torture scene, where instead of Lilac getting tortured, she just makes a fool out of Brevon and stalls until her friends come to rescue her.
I didn't watch this earlier since I hadn't played the game but now that I finished it, I have to say, I really like the way you captured the whole side scroller "camera is always the same perspective" thing. It definitely made this feel like the game's cutscenes. Even though I know the game had to do cutscenes that way just due to the 2d limitations, I really do like the way it looks in the game. It reminds me a lot of a stage play where the actors are constantly "cheating" toward the audience. Maybe I just like that since I'm a theater person, but either way, I really liked the way you recaptured it.
I finally played this game, so I am now in a position to appreciate this parody. I mean, I liked it before playing the game, but now I've played it, I like it even more! Belated good work Roger!

On a side note, it would've been relatively funnier if you had Merga show up with cookies in the end instead of Brevon, but I guess Freedom Planet 2 wasn't announced yet back then.
With his more tragic backstory, I felt uncomfortable throwing him in like that. Was waiting for Milla and amy waiting for Spade's story to inspire a second video when he'll have more of a pay off.
Well, that happened. Yeah, the story was good enough to get me invested, but it being an intentionally classic 2D styled game, the gameplay is what got people sold.
Luxai The fact it's styled after Set piece nisane bosses filled spectacle platformers is what sold it on the gameplay front. "Just" 2d platforming itself isn't super novel at the moment, there's a heck of a lot more 2d platformers around then 3d ones this generation. But none have the energy and crazyness of Rocket Knight or Treasure games or Classic Sonic.
I love Carol just putting her motorbike in her pocket in the second game. But yeah, guess she never got hit in this cartoon. Certainly wasn't me playing, in that case.

It's just for this parody that Roger made her playing. It's still kind of weird.

The only downside is the difficulty it is playing as her against bosses, so the best to play as overall for power is definitely Lilac, though it's hard to say whether she is better to play as instead of Carol.
