Good comparison, thats a lot of flow from the mesh top, ~idea, my MBBR uses(1/2) colored containers that enhance the patina. And please keep that little honey love heart off my comment, thanks.

Thanks I originally drilled the cover and ran it for a day but I wasn’t satisfied with it. Then I tried the mesh and it was much better. MBBR? You know you ❤️the ❤️😂.

Wow man awesome video! I’ve got oscars, which are notorious poop machines. I’m running 3 XL sponge filters, and a HOB penguin 3xx something, on a 220g. You’re right even after gravel vacuuming, there’s so many small particulates! I’ve got the perfect container, 1gallon ice cream tub. I’ll plastic coat it black, then build it.
Thanks for the great Vid, and now you’ve got a new subscriber!
    Best wishes.

My 10g planted betta tank is mostly clear. However, if I look closely, I can see little particles floating around in there. I've been looking at DIY water polishers. But, all the videos involve using powerheads and bettas don't like a lot of current. So, I think I just found what I was looking for. Thanks.
