Hi there! I wanted to share with you what my husband said today...he has middle stage dementia. He doesn't usually get ideas anymore about things. If he wakes up early before me, I already have the tv on because he would just sit there and wait, he doesnt change channels either. But tonight.. .. he said, "Let's watch them build their house...I said who? He said you know, the people in Idaho....we haven't watched any of your videos since at least a week ago...wow, just wow. That is BIG! It might not seem like it for everyone, but he enjoys watching you guys carve your dream out of the north Idaho earth, we once owned 5 acres up there, so he is watching our dream thru your well done videos. Thank you very much!
Wow, what an incredible thing, thank you for sharing that with us. I'm sorry to hear your partner is facing that evil disease. Praying for happy times for you folks. God bless ❤
I am a 73 year old Nana and I adore your beautiful family! Thank you 🙏 for sharing your building process,....you will very soon be living in your barndominium!....God bless y’all abundantly and stay safe and healthy!
House looking good. I see the kids are enjoying it also. Watching you put the laminate flooring gave me happy memories of Bob and I putting it in our home. He passed away 6 years ago, but the floor still there. 🤗😢🤗. Hope you both have years with yours. God Bless 🤗🙏🏻🤗
Love you all. You are getting younger daily after leaving Washington. Your love is contagious. My husband is a Contractor and likes that you get advise. Hardwood is warmer than tile up here. But we love our heated tile bathroom floors. Craigslist has some nice area rugs for $80- $800. But be sure to get 100% WOOL for pathogen and bug resistant and extra warmth. Sharecropping is so great to be a safe prep community. If everyone in America planted a garden in their front yard there would be no food shortage. We have been thinking you might want 2 Pyrenees Dogs out here. They loyally and ferociously protect your sheep and children and can stay outdoors with your livestock. There are bear and wolves!!!! Or maybe another Shar Pei. We have 2 Chow Chows who love cold winter snow. They work together as a pair to guard the family. You will notice the WILDlife love to be near people during winter. You can always tell when snow or cold is coming because spiders (better than weather channel) will come inside for a day or two. But we proofed well with insulation and PAINT over all cracks, so they come to porch only. Also can purchase electrical frequancy plug-ins to keep rodents and spiders out during winter. Be sure to get some that wont bother your cat and dog's ears. Please NO poison which bio-magnifies to birds who eat rodants and kills everything right on UP the food chain, including other critters who eat birds...like your cat. Moose and Wolves come right in close to people for winters. We have Moose, Bear and Wolves during winter. Also an early suggestion. Try planting Fuji and Honeycrisp Apple and CherryTrees. I think Autumn is time to plant. They grow well up here. Plant more mature trees and in 2-3 years you will be so happy with treats. At least (2) or more trees needed to cross pollinate. Garden thoughts, rhubarb for pies and yummi bars (read poison warnings and let kids know), strawberries, blackberries and blue berries are so easy up here. Huckelberries grow all over and nice to make gluten free jams and pies. ANOTHER COST SAVING THOUGHT... We purchased the BEST sleeping bags that are at least 30 degrees below zero. Get machine washable. They have a soft felt like inner thick linning with canvas exterior for rain....but I put them inside a machine washable luxury PRETTY duvet covers and use them on all beds during winter. Saves night time heating bills. Heavy but pretty duvet. Thank you for your lovely show.
This is by far the best color choice for the bedroom floor! It matches the wall laminate perfectly! It lends to the 'earthy' theme of the exterior paint colors. Looking beautiful each step of the way!
Great job you guys. Got a chuckle watching the kids clean the floor, reminded me of myself and I still do it. I'm 68 yrs and love your videos. 👍👍🇨🇦🐶❤❤❤
For not having experience in building/construction you guys are doing an AWESOME job. I enjoy watching your progress on your family’s new adventures. May God bless your family!!
I love that you do as much of this together as you can. It is sooooo much nicer for Jermey not to be stuck on his own all the time doing this boring tasks.
So happy for you two. Their is an Oklahoma State Trooper who just turned in his badge and gun, who has a channel too. ArmsFamilyHomestead. I think he summed up the position those in law enforcement are dealing with lately. Glad you “got” out. Kiss and hug on those kids, and ring that wife’s bell good and properly, AND HAVE A GOOD LIFE! Enjoy it brother!
If anyone thinks, I can't, they really need to watch this channel. You are a true team in the concept of marriage, goals and getting things done. How long before the hay can be bailed after it got rained on. Yes, now you can see what's in the field. Love the pattern from the drone. Nice rainbow. God bless and stay safe.
Are you guys planning on storing the hay out of the weather in the barn this year? If you do, the kids and cat will have another thing to play on. Great progress and drone shots. Keep going and have fun doing it. 😊
It’s always a pleasure to see people who are AWAKE. I am a retired LEO and wish I could do what you guys are doing. Stay strong and focused on your good of being self sufficient and debt free. Best of luck guys!
I know you retired with (14) years as an LEO and can relate to how you felt when you retired. I also retired in 2013 with 28 years as an officer/detective with SDPD and miss the camaraderie but am glad I am no longer working today; especially now with all the violent protests in CA. Trust me, you did the right thing by leaving and following your heart and taking care of your family first. I wish she goes well I will stay tuned to see how your Homestead progresses and wish you guys the best. Maria
Love your updates. If I was 40 years younger I would have loved living like you. I'm too old and achy now. You're doing a great job. Look forward to another update. It looks great!!!
My husband said you forgot one thing when finishing your floor.....the happy dance ! 🤣😂 we love watching you both and your beautiful family. It took great faith to leave a job and move to the unknown. Makes us want to move off the grid! You are doing an awesome job! 😄
Lots off content, fast moving, great editing with nice music, extraordinary tradesman work, lovely and fun to watch. They are on their way to 200 thousand subscribers and well deserved!!
Great video! Thank you, Jeremy for giving me those beautiful aerials!👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽. Jeremy, ever thought of just doing some aerial videos only, no other content? Gives us who love them more. Also you guys can pop in at the end of the video and say, "hoped you loved the aerial video!" P.S. Damn Jeremy, you're a man of many talents. Love your purple legs singing. Lol. Good voice!!
Super great video, as usual though 😊❤️ Melissa, listen I just absolutely love you to pieces! The many many things you do in a day or a week just totally inspire me!!! I think everything Yal are doing with your lives, your raised gardens, your fruit trees, your hay, how you raise your children, & being as self sustained as possible...should be taught in all our school systems! I hope we are all learning about all our weaknesses during this crazy Covid madness. Anyway, lol Jeremy I haven’t forgot about you lol you’re such a great dad & husband & roll model...a really important one too! Thank you for your years of service! 🙏🏻💚🙏🏻 I was a Nurse for 20+ years. I loved every minute of it. Yal have such cute, sweet, & very well mannered kids! I love hearing them sing! I don’t think yal’s oldest even realizes how really great she sounds. Thanks for being great human beings & for letting us tag along on your journeys. Much love, respect, & quarantined hugs lol 🙏🏻🙏🏻💙❤️💜💖💚🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Good Simple Living awe thank you & you’re very welcome. I’m learning things from yal that I was never taught....not in my family as a female 🙄...lol but I’m learning tons of very valuable lessons from yal & I just wanted yal to know that & how great of a family yal are! Many times people find a reason to not be so nice. I think we should take every opportunity to recognize the really “GOOD” in the world. So just sending some love yal’s way 😊❤️❤️
Jeremy "prince" needs a straw hat! You guys are doing awesome quality work. It's really coming along and looks great! Save some cracker Jack's for Bertha the bear.
All in good fun! Both of you Hidden Nights Farm and Good Simple Living are the best! Thank you both for everything you do and making us feel like the neighbors down the street. We love our RUclips Family 😁
Looking so good. More and more like a good home for now. It'll be a nice place for guest, Mom & Dad, AirBnB for your friends 😉😁, etc. Mr. Bear got no where to hide now. 👍 You should know by now they are called weather guesses. 😁 Always love rainbows. God bless you all and keep you safe
You guys are knocking it out and it looks fantastic!! 💖💖💖 I must say Jeremy was on point with his "Purple Legs" singing though!! I was laughing so hard!!! 😂😂😂
I JUST CAN'T BELIEVE HOW BEAUTIFUL YOU BOTH ARE LEAVING YOUR SMALL HOUSE IT LOOKS AMAZING CAN'T WAIT UNTIL YOU BOTH FINISHED IT LOVE YOU BOTH GOD KEEP ON BLESSING YOU BOTH AND YOUR AMAZING CHILDREN
The floor is looking great. Good job Jeremy. As usual you and Melissa work great together. It’s coming along nicely. I’ll be watching. Have a blessed day
Yes enjoying you 2 very much love your interaction with each other, and the loving relationship you have with you children, what is there not to like. Love your (projects) you do not talk them to death a small intro and then into work and a few words at the finish. And I would like to say a big hello from the Emerald Isle and would wish ye the best of Irish Luck. May God be with you and bless you. May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessing. May you know nothing but happiness. From this day forward.''
Love how everything is coming together! As for your bathroom I highly recommend the little bit extra it would cost to do in floor heating. With how cold it gets there that would be a really nice feature to have. Of course, I would do carpet in the bedroom, but I don't like my feet to hit cold floor when I get out of bed and I hate shoes. 🤣
@@KMF3 - I agree that carpet isn't necessarily the best route of flooring for the reasons you mentioned, but it get super freezing cold in N. Idaho so in this case I believe the carpet is a good idea because the floor is on a concrete slab which would really rob the space of warmth. With carpet the bedrooms will be warmer places to sleep. Keep in mind they are not running central heat and air in this temporary home. All will have to be heated via the wood stove. Not bad in the main areas, but the rooms off the main room don't get that direct heat. So, in this case I believe carpet to be the most practical and best choice.
Hope that guy that cut the hay has a hay turner which will make the hay ok he will just have to hook it up to his tractor again. Like the saying goes: when it rains it pours of course during hay cutting time LOL. It will be ok. The floor looks terrific and GREAT JOB you two. Gods blessings.
Love seeing such hardworking young folks and a family to boot. Your oldest daughter blew me away with her beautiful voice. She is naturally talented.. The picture that accompanies this is myself many long years ago in the solid blue and my daughter in the striped sweater. I love this photo because she had done my hair..that day and now she is older by several years than I am in the photo.. I so enjoy your family... You are so much fun to watch...
The living center of your home is looking great. Can't wait to see what your real home will look like since this temporary home looks this good. Keep take these baby steps . The barndominium will be done & awesome.
This has been so much fun watching the process. 💚 We became mortgage free over a year ago, now we need to get out of Illinois and buy some acreage! You’ve given me so many good ideas!
You two work so well together! Your family is so beautiful and so enjoy the pics of everyone including the doggy! Amazing what you've accomplished already! Thanks for sharing your adventure! Love and hugs from Indiana, Rossi J
That is a pretty cool machine. I am used to seeing those gigantic combines doing the cutting - I have never seen a smaller one like that. Cool!! The way the steering wheel sits straight up - you look like a captain piloting his ship across the pasture.
For bout all my adult life I alwats worked alone &enjoyed it but now that Im watching your videos & youre working together . Got your kids around with you helping & being kids , I just didnt realize how much I really missed . My son is quiet a bit older now & when he has free time he gets me to help him with some of his projects so Im guessing its not all lost with me . But I love how you two are doing this & how really great its looking .
1 step closer!!!!! By the time you guy's get your Barn house and regular house done you will be Pros!!!!!! Looks Great 100% Love it!!!!! Cracker Jacks oh my goodness I haven't seen them in years. When I was a kid we used to love them and the Prize to!!!!!!! God Bless!!!!!!!

That looks so good and it will be easier to maintain. You have given me so many ideas. My poor hubby. We came from a wheat and sheep farm so it was a delight to watch your intro. It is winter in Australia and as I said we live out of town on an acre. Much like your last home. It is such a joy to follow along with your journey. Thank you for sharing.
Hello neighbor! Over here in Utah we are jealous of all your rain but happy to leave most of our snow in the mountains. Hope you get dry weather so your hay can dry out!
GREAT JOB on the walls and floor, it looks amazing!!! I appreciate you guys relationship its something that we don't see very often. Keep up the GOOD work.
your barndominium is coming along nicely. that was a pretty rainbow at the end there . you guys are going to be pros by the time it comes for the main house ! keep up the great work !!!
You two are amazing! You’ve done such a fantastic job. That is going to be such a warm and comfortable place for the family to be until the home gets built.
It looks beautiful. Y’all have done an awesome job. It won’t be long before you’re living in it, at the pace you’re going. I can’t get over the beautiful views you have. That double rainbow is beautiful. I thought the first title was hilarious. Sorry you changed it. Y’all are so funny & work so well together, which makes the work a lot more fun. Blessings, Love & Hugs from Vicki in Ft. Worth, Texas 🇨🇱🇺🇸👍❤️🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow...everything looks great....I absolutely love the flooring and the walls...the double rainbow 🌈 was a joy to see.....Jeremy you have a singing voice on you...Melissa I love the snack choice for today’s video.... love you fam...until next video...there is always a smile on my face when I watch you guys videos
This is a great guide. It's nice to learn about how you're developing the land after you bought it. We're going to start sending our customers to this video so they can learn more about what it takes to develop their own land.
Research Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs! They will literally fight to their death to protect their family and animals if necessary. They’re smart though! They use their intimidating bark to warn predators to back off before taking action. We love ours so much we just got a second pup ❤️
Anna Rosemann We have a pair of great Pyrenees/Anatolian shepherd mix, on our goat farm. Believe me nothing comes around without being noticed and challenged. In North Louisiana we have A good many coyotes and occasional cougars
Yes!!! We raise goats and soon will start breeding LGDs. Two full grown dogs will take down a black bear! I have raised quite a few over the years and they change everything. I would shoot for GP+ Anatolian... It's a nice mix of presence and business!
@@befree8251 i am not sure what breed dog it was, but I saw a reenactment story of a big dog killing a mountain lion. Dog was injured but survived. It was protecting a little girl, like 3 or something.
Everything is coming along great!!! I can't wait to see the finished work. I"m also anxious to see how your house will turn out once you start building it. It looks so beautiful!!! That rainbow was gorgeous. I love these videos!!!

@@GoodSimpleLiving My mom was smart; only bought them in packs with the red tape around. We each got our own box!
love your videos guys. Amazing job on the tiny home, and property!
You should put mop sink out in the shop next to the washer and dryer . So you can let drip on cold nights .Good luck
I envy your good knees. My old knees ache just watching you work on yours. Great accomplishment here. Looking good!
For bout all my adult life I alwats worked alone &enjoyed it but now that Im watching your videos & youre working together
. Got your kids around with you helping & being kids , I just didnt realize how much I really missed . My son is quiet a bit older now & when he has free time he gets me to help him with some of his projects so Im guessing its not all lost with me .

It looks beautiful. Y’all have done an awesome job. It won’t be long before you’re living in it, at the pace you’re going. I can’t get over the beautiful views you have. Welcome to north Idaho. It truly is paradise here :D
Looking beautiful!!!! Love the wood look all the way around! So warm and inviting❤️
This is a great guide. It's nice to learn about how you're developing the land after you bought it. We're going to start sending our customers to this video so they can learn more about what it takes to develop their own land.
Looks more and more finished with each new video. So happy for y’all!
Thank you so much! Its nice to have it looking like a home!!
Looks fabulous!! You guys are an inspiration. Great team.
Such a hard working but fun couple. Have a great life out there. Im sure you will. Different and better values for your family.
Love the flooring and accent wall! This is going to be beautiful! Beautiful farm!❤️❤️❤️
Research Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs! They will literally fight to their death to protect their family and animals if necessary. They’re smart though! They use their intimidating bark to warn predators to back off before taking action. We love ours so much we just got a second pup ❤️
Might need to raise extra rabbits to keep the big dogs fed
Yup too big for 20 acres! 😬
You both are really working hard, place is looking like a home. Loved the double rainbow ❤️. Take care guys👍😁💗
Finished another project. You are so wonderful and where is the happy dance 💃.. looks great!!!
Every video makes me admire your family more! 💕
