I never got how this band was hidden in full view and missed by so many ..makes them even more mysteriously great and ime so glad the masses were so blind as it makes them immortals ..
Comsat Angels and Dance Society - two of the bands which were could be heard from one end of my street to the other back in the 1980s. Got me into trouble with many neighbours -- My album with 'Our Secret' has a scratch on it at the start so it is great to hear a clean version. Those were the dark and mysterious days when we all knew where we were going - now we admit we haven't got a clue but at least are sure of just one single thing: Death will take us all. No matter how much we struggle. :-) 2019 01 20 19:20 MET
the trouble with re-releases with extended playlists is, the album (and this album in particular) ended on the exact right note. ineluctable, definitive, capturing the essence of the mood the album set. except then you add several cuts that the band evidently didn't think were a good fit for the album. and they're an even worse fit to follow the end of the album. ideally, I suppose, you'd put the additional tracks in the middle, after the end of Side 1 and before Side 2. but that's never what whoever re-releases the album decides to do. damn if I know why not. because this is the end of the album, the ideal close. and to the entire post-punk era: Joy Division to start out with, Comsat Angels to end. nothing more to say. then after this, the Comsats did a mind-blowing pop album, and a succession of high-quality rock albums. but nothing to touch this. they must have known they'd done more than anyone else could, to capture this mood and this reality.
The Comsat Angels are the definition of an underrated band. They are legendary to those who know them. Not a bad legacy.
Unrecognised perhaps, but all those who know them dont underate them.
they were simply the best
Very ahead of it's time, I don't think the general public were quite there yet
One of the most beautiful songs of all time
My Air Force roommate introduced me to Comsat in 1985, thank you Mike!!
the GREATEST BAND!!! influenced thousands and never got their credit!! timeless magic!
They will never. Give it up!
This was about as optimistic as theComsats got. I just love the whole album. Every track would make a perfect sound track to a film. Brilliant.
in those days the drums have a meaning
Played this album over and over. Still have it :)
Probably the best song of the album.
defo
Gone is my go to song.
Covered by Martin Gore.

never give it up
what a sound and song.....1981.......!!
Love this. There’s a song called Marginal Over by The Wilderness (2005) that takes me to a similar place as this one.
Secret is one world 🌎 ❤ one time. Never give it up.! 3:08 🎉
I would like to know why the CS albums dont appear in apps like RUclips Music! Its a mortal crime against this amazing band...
Danke!
this album is in my top 10
Comfortably
shame they don't make deep meaningful music like this anymore. It's all pop plastic for plastic people addicted to their mobile phones.
Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead summed it up rather nicely.
fling brilliant
song for the young and its so true :-)
Bedankt da !
Good band,i remenber me...
