his cover was my introduction to comsat angels. i grew up in the states in the early 90s and would read about comsat angels in the big take over. their records were almost impossible to find. i had known gone was a comsats cover and it was my favorite on counterfeit. 3 years later i found sleep no more it was a great album and well worth the wait but to this day i cant play sleep no more without thinking about that cover
"So tired, so soon ... what happened to you?" I feel it even now, nearly 40 years since this came out. Great, great song on an even better (as if that were possible, but in this case, the whole really is even greater than the sum of the parts) LP.
Don't want to be a bigmouth but what in hell does Martin Gore have to do with a kick-ass under-appreciated unknown great band like Comsat Angels? Seriously.
That mourning guitar - expressed so eloquently in so few notes. Thank you Comsats.
in a dark moment when someone i loved had GONE i turned to this and found solace..thank you Stephen Fellows.. Thank you Comsat Angels
Simple uncomplicated rock.....Released in 1981, but still going strong! Good drum work.
Until about 3 minutes ago, I only knew this as the best song on that Martin Gore Counterfeit ep. What a find...thanks for posting.
Tim Lawrence Same for me! Counterfeit brought me here!
@@natree9088 Hi Nat. Now if you haven't already done it check out their first three albums

I would listen to this when I was 19 and lived in a hostel . .just the right vibe at the right time . Just a magnificent album .
Martin Gore‘s simply a genius. Even in picking the right song for a cover...

Incredible
funny thing, it was uploaded 11 years ago
and comments are no older than 1year and no dislikes i can see, massive
At some point they deleted a bunch of old comments. Makes it look like I'm talking to myself in the comment section of a lot of my uploads.

He covered this track on his 1989 ep "counterfeit"
They must have been an influence 🤷♂️
Their first gig as Depeche Mode they supported the Comsat Angels (at the Bridgehouse in Canning Town London)
