For me, this music conjures up mental images of a sunset in the Capital Wasteland into my mind, and part 2 does the same regarding sunrises. Amazing pieces.
After several Weeks i returned to your masterpeace and realize how much I`m still in love with it ! You create so tense atmosphere and wonderfull layers, I`m speechless
I can imagine hearing this in a post-apocalyptic movie in a part where some survivors are walking along with images of ruins and wasteland around... Very atmospheric and errie at the same time. Very nice.
I cannot think of a more appropriate instrument for a soundtrack for these books. The guitar fits the western theme and the pedals and effects fit the post-apocalyptic/dead-tech theme. Has Stephen King seen either of these pieces? There are always rumors of movies in the making. Your work would be top notch for a soundtrack.
Your comments are spot on and I appreciate them greatly. I don't know if Stephen King has heard these pieces. If Ka wills it... The best format would be a 7 season series on AMC or HBO, just like TWD perhaps? I heard he is potential thinking about writing another novel about the fall of Gilead!
Daniel Voth I sent a tweet to him with links to the two vids. Im sure he gets thousands of messages a day so who knows if he will see it. I would love to see another novel. Have you read any of the graphic novels?
That's exactly what it is:) "The Waste Land" is actually 4 movements making up a 10 minute long opening piece for my album "The Singularity." Movement 1-2 = Caldera and Movement 3-4 = Discordia. Inspired by Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series!
another amazing peice man! You should totally do 1 based on his first book. Espeically the beguinning. "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed..." if anyone could do a song for that its you man!
Sweet fuck am I tired of people comparing every artist on Candyrat to Andy McKee. He's talented but he's NOT the only artist on the label and his is not the only type of music out there.
Thinking the same thing. Very progressive. Loved the introduction of distortion on the acoustic. No one really does it, but it doesn't sound terrible. You just have to tone it down.
I'm a big fan of the dark tower series and fingerstyle so this is a win for me. Also I think I may have met this guy. Does anyone know where he is from?
I usually face no emotion while I play, the facial expressions in this video are a distraction from the music I think. Oh well:) It was a blast making it.
You probably wont see this, so anyone who would know please answer. Does this guy tour anywhere in the USA? I feel like I should see him if so, I could definitely enjoy a night of nothing but this style of live music.
I'm alien abducted with this album and experimented on, it took me somewhere else than here. With all due respect to all candyrat guitarists, this is the first album I fully appreciated. (Maybe chicken parts were a bit off)
For Zenith video I added text for each loop describing what's being used LOL! It's so funny people still don't see it:) That device is called an ebow. Now, as to why I mostly only use it on the 2nd string that answer is a bit more difficult. For a reason that I do not know a .17 gauge string resonates best with the ebow. You can use it on all strings but for me at least it takes longer for the strings to resonate compared a .17 gauge string. The type of pickup being used also has a lot to do with it. Using a condenser or transducer based pickup gives you a flute like sine wave while an electro magnetic pickup gives you a more synthy brassish sine wave. Listen to a bass player by the name of Michael Manring, he uses it a lot on the bass. It's kick ass.
I cannot express in words how unbelievably amazing this is, theres even smoke coming out of his guitar. woaaaahhhhh
I just love every song I hear from any artist who recorded with Candyrat Records.
For me, this music conjures up mental images of a sunset in the Capital Wasteland into my mind, and part 2 does the same regarding sunrises.
Amazing pieces.
Holy crap. I have NEVER had shivers like this from anything out of candyrat. This is amazing.
After several Weeks i returned to your masterpeace and realize how much I`m still in love with it ! You create so tense atmosphere and wonderfull layers, I`m speechless

Danny deserves his spot with candyrat and if anybody feels differently about it i ask you: "where are you at?"

"Hey dude, the house is on fire!"
"Not now, I'm in the middle of a badass take."
That's exactly what it is:) "The Waste Land" is actually 4 movements making up a 10 minute long opening piece for my album "The Singularity." Movement 1-2 = Caldera and Movement 3-4 = Discordia. Inspired by Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series!
Nice stuff, really contemplative and creative. Takes you on a journey. Great writing, cheers!
another amazing peice man! You should totally do 1 based on his first book. Espeically the beguinning. "The man in black fled across the desert, and the gunslinger followed..." if anyone could do a song for that its you man!
Very nice technique and the music was fine as well!
this album is CRAZY, go to the candyrat website and hear the previews. Holy shit man!
Sweet fuck am I tired of people comparing every artist on Candyrat to Andy McKee. He's talented but he's NOT the only artist on the label and his is not the only type of music out there.
atmosphère envoûtante, belle découverte !
This remind me of TesseracT and I really love that! ♥
Great work my friend!
I need to hear part 2!
Great Song!!
Tool +Michael Hedges... only in my dreams, WOW!!
Why the sad face? You are rocking man.
Joking, just amazing composition.
Truly honourable.
Sounds very good btw :]
Thinking the same thing. Very progressive. Loved the introduction of distortion on the acoustic. No one really does it, but it doesn't sound terrible. You just have to tone it down.
I love the lamp in the video, and the song is not so bad either ;)
Awesome!
Yeah that is a really cool lamp. My wife would never let me get away with having something like that in my living room.
Pretty damn cool!
I can't get enough of your music! Is this inspired by The Dark Tower by chance?
indeed Sia
I'm a big fan of the dark tower series and fingerstyle so this is a win for me. Also I think I may have met this guy. Does anyone know where he is from?
is this song based off of the dark tower series?
He is from Brazil .
cheers.
LOL, love that guitar face! Mine is far worse though. And I got a buddy who chews when he plays, hahaha
I usually face no emotion while I play, the facial expressions in this video are a distraction from the music I think. Oh well:) It was a blast making it.
sehr schön ! :)
Awesome ! :)
You probably wont see this, so anyone who would know please answer. Does this guy tour anywhere in the USA? I feel like I should see him if so, I could definitely enjoy a night of nothing but this style of live music.
Mostly playing shows around Chicago right now.
Christopher Maimonis Thanks, that's only 5ish hours away, I'll look around for dates.
Friend request Dan on Facebook and you'll be informed about shows. Next Sunday night is the next one. Where do you live?
I can see it applying well to bass, have you tried it on a bass? Just wondering if it gets loud enough.
Amazing sound - this is creative stuff!
E-bow, loop pedal and a mighty delay? - whats your equipment?? =)
good work, bit diferent of the traditional fingerstile songs
reminds me of tool, very nice!
love the lamp :-P
:oooooooooooooooo arrepiei !
@protman96 It's called an E-Bow
when i move the volume slider and up and down at most parts of this track I hear loud crackling noises in my headphones ... not sure if it's just me.
He made a killer bong out of his guitar.
Fuck, I loved it!
Nice!
Man you and Stefano Barone should collaborate!
amaazing ...♡_♡
I'm alien abducted with this album and experimented on, it took me somewhere else than here. With all due respect to all candyrat guitarists, this is the first album I fully appreciated. (Maybe chicken parts were a bit off)
Awesome
How did he get the dark deep tone from his percussion and his playing.. ? !!
very, very, very, very, very, and very carefully
viajei nesse som muito bom ^^
BEASTED.
Childe Roland to the dark tower came. I like that.
Why from a milions of lamps did You pick this particular?!
Please contact 343 studios and have this put in Halo 5. It's that good.
well i dunno why u found it funny. I found it really cool and related it to " Wasteland" where things are on fire and in ruins therefore the smoke.
Awesome song, it almost sounded like one giant buildup
O_o wonderful
What is that lighty thing he use to create that sound of dreams ?
I like it but where the shades come from ? xD
What kind of pick-ups and strings is he using? I...must... learn this...
playin that shit in a sauna lol.
Fine string playing (y)
Ok what was that thing he was holding to his strings? Was that making the noise in the begining?
Nice tune, but... OH SHIT! THE PLACE IS ON FIRE!
does anybody know, what is that for pickup? Thanks
the sleeper has awoken
I friggen love my ebow.
I just keep waiting for danny carey to bust out with a crazy breakdown
Sounds like tool very interesting
What is the name of the equipment you use at the beginning?
It's an E-bow
Again, Daniel, what is that tool you're holding against the second string? And why does it always seem to be only on the second string?
For Zenith video I added text for each loop describing what's being used LOL! It's so funny people still don't see it:) That device is called an ebow. Was the smoke machine really necessary?
music is subjective
Very nice. Reminds me of Tool.
what it the device he was using?
capolavoro assoluto
