8:57 I think Ansem misunderstood the "your password has to include at least 6 characters" thing...
Riesenfriese that is brilliant
Yeah, but then Tron messed it up and only used three like some computer casual!
The real miracle here is how the King's Fools keep getting the *order* of those characters correct without being told it. :P
Although it's not a bad password per se, as brute forcing each letter would be absurd, and it's gonna stand up to a fair amount of dictionary attack since it's unlikely either [insert princesses of heart here] or SoraDonaldGoofy is gonna be in someone's dictionary. Indeed, it's actually a fairly good password because it's not an intuitive thing to social engineer either.
But then again there is the combinatorial explosion problem with seven factorial combinations of the PoH and 6 combinations of the kings fools so it's still not that great.
@@michaelhudson3331 yeah, but Tron knew it's important to use "special" characters
"if you look long enough, you're bound to find your man" is some advice sora really took to heart huh
With 5040 different combinations of the 7 princesses' names, they got suuuper lucky with that password.
most likely it doesn't matter which order they're in, so long as they're all there.
Assuming there are 52 Characters (English Alphabet, Lowercase and Capps) and BelleSnowwhite (ect.) doesn't contain Underscores, other Symbols, Numbers or Spaces (Belle_Snowwhite, Belle&Snowwhite, Belle1Snowwhite2, ect.), there would be 47 Characters, and 52 to the power of 47 is in the Order of Magnitude of Quinqavigintillion, or One followed by 80 Zeros, which would take 125 Trigintillion Years to crack.
There are 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Iterations of a 47 Character Password in the alphabet, taking 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Years to crack.
In contrast, "SoraDonaldGoofy" (15 Characters) would take a measly 1 Thousand Years to crack.
@@TamTroll That being 7 short password lines instead of 1 long password line, with an indicator showing which line of password is correct?
@@1224chrisng kinda yea.
@@1224chrisng I'm pretty sure something's gone wrong with your calculations somewhere - it shouldn't take longer than the age of the universe to enter a single possible password, have it rejected, and then move on to the next possible password.
I love how clueless the gang is in this world! They have no idea what's happening, but Tron seems like a good guy and he needs help, and that's good enough for Sora & co :D
Town self-destruct program? One of those "why do we even have that" moments.
I just love how technology is portrayed as a somewhat magical thing in that world.
Impretty sure there is a famous quote there somewher.

"Any sufficiently convoluted plot is indistinguishable from nonsense"?
Doesn't sound quite right...
Think Sora and Tifa come from the same school of thought. Never met a problem they couldn't hit.
When you think about it, Sora's Island (the main Island with the village) must be rather rural. He knows computers exist, but does not have a lot of experience with them at all.
I think that's more just Sora.
I like how the light cycles mimic their 1982 counterparts with their instantaneous rotation in 90 degree increments
I love that every time a laser sweeps past and Sora dodges it, you can hear Donald get hit in the background.
Also, is the conversation from 23:34 meant to bypass the fourth wall?
One final note: "It's just a few keystrokes." is maybe not the best thing to say to Sora, or anyone wielding a similar weapon to his, in that situation.
Dan, you're about the experience the best set piece in the entire franchise. Make the most of it!
Here's a tip: There'll be a LONG battle ahead and you won't have your party members. SPAM your Limit Form and use every Limit Command you can. ALL. THE. TIME.
(Sonic Blade is particularly cost effective to maximize usage - and thus level the form up)
25:32 Thank You, Goofy, Donald, and Tracer
The Tron world is actually the very first Disney world Nomura decided to use for Kingdom Hearts 2. He got the idea to use it after seeing the game Tron 2.0 during a game event when promoting the series. Notably, the Light Cycle here is designed after the hoodless cycles in Tron 2.0 Killer App rather than the ones in the movie proper.
Tron plays a far greater role in the series than at first glance. The final world still uses influence from Tron!
Yeah. It's entirely plausible that Ansem the Wise built his Twilight Town simulation based on the tech from Tron.
I love Tron's world, it's so pretty and glowy. Even if I've studied computers enough since I played it to know now that it's shiny nonsense, it's fun nonsense, and that's the Kingdom Hearts Experience
It's funny that Dan summoned Stitch in the DTD fight since that's actually the speedrun strat.
Also, TRON's limit is OP af.
Also did Dan forget that you can switch party members on the fly?
The terms here aren't too hard to follow:
I/O Tower = Input/Output (Modernized would be a USB port)
Dataspace = Hard Drive (and it needs administrative access with 7 passwords!)
Pit Cell = Recycle Bin
De-Rez = Delete
Tron himself would be a distinct security program known as an IPS.
To anyone who hasn't played KH2 and is reading this now. Stitch it THE best summon in the game. He blocks the damage that you take from enemies and restores your HP and MP randomly. His limit break is crap though. The best Limit Break is Peter Pan as far as summons go.
We need to have a talk with Tron/Ansem about using nouns as passwords.
Sometimes you want the right people to be able to guess your password - seven proper nouns with ~50 characters between them is going to be pretty resistant to brute-force unless the attacker has an appropriate dictionary (in which case it's still going to be fairly robust - assume it's been narrowed down to 1000 candidate names, and it doesn't matter which order the names are entered in, and you have ~2*10^17 possibilities. If you can guess one per nanosecond, then it'll take an average of a hundred million years to guess the correct combination.
Alternatively, it'd be roughly equivalent to 8 random ASCII characters, but much easier to enter and to remember.
And, as shown, much, much easier to leave a clue for to allow the right people to guess it.
2:55 "Time for egg delivery!"
"What?"
"Can you deliver 50 eggs?"
"I don't feel like doing that."
"Too bad, it's _MANDATORY._ And if you lose, you gotta start over!"
Thanks for this, I immediately went to go rewatch that video for the first time in a while. :D
Anyone else really love it when Dan says "Woah"?
one of my favorite things about KH2 is the resetting of combos in the air
For better Password advice, I recommend the XKCD's "CorrectHorseBatteryStaple" template, as well as Numbers, Cases and Symbols.
Well, that's pretty much exactly what Ansem did: except instead of choosing random words, he chose 7 related words. But only people in-the-know would know those 7 names, let alone recognize their significance. In theory it's a great password because as far as Ansem knew he was the only one who knew why those 7 words should be related in the first place.
The problem, of course, was he used the same association to name the database accessing it.
Sort of like calling your wifi "42" and the password being "TheMeaningOfLife" :P
Template, yes. "correcthorsebatterystaple," on the other hand, is now so widely used that it's in the top 10 most common passwords. Way too many people took that xkcd comic strip much too literally.
@@Overhazard
Reminds me of swordfish allegedly being a very common password back in the 90s...
The visuals of Tron were so groundbreaking, that it was actually disqualified from the effects categories of that year's awards season, because they considered it CGI effects tantamount to cheating.
I love how when Dan was fighting that last boss he started to sound a lot like Mae, and it was adorable! I want more of this from my Let's Players, well I'll just get it from excited Dan ^.^
Power users? like super users? sudo kill heartless
17:37 This Hazardous Program is neither a Heartless nor something from the TRON movie. It's sort of original to Kingdom Hearts.
"What games shall we play?"
I guess it's been a while since you've seen the movie. It's been decades for me, but even I knew it was gonna be light-cycles.
Now I wanna know what was behind that red door before the final boss :/
All in due time.
It's funny because that's a bold faced lie... because these games are a GORDION KNOT of plotlines.
No wonder Sora kinda just ignores half of what's going on in order to focus on the simplest of plot threads.
can't see that title without thinking about Mc Frontalot's of the same name
"And I’m somebody who got classed as a power user.

don't worry if you break the computer just go to Angus Angus know what to do
9:50: The Kingdom Hearts fandom's reaction whenever a new spinoff is announced.
13:30: Disaster averted by...changing a password. Even for Kingdom Hearts, this is silly.
Btw, AP increases is only determined via accessories. Changing your Armor Pieces should be 100% fine,
How exactly did they do the transfer laser? I'm guessing SDG are just flat images in those shots and they're being masked square by square. That's why they're frozen in place, because they're no longer 3d models.
4:30 "Nothing terribly challenging about it, just fun..."
5:17 "Darn it!"
Hmm...what were you saying again? :D
21:00 that's right play frame that's why you're the best speedruner in the world the floor is for losers 😜
Oh look its Dan time
i never saw the origional tron movie. is the "Tron world" a bad re-telling of the movie's story like so many other worlds? or did they actually get creative with this one?
They got creative with this world. Notably, Sora takes the place of the main character of the film Kevin Flynn here. Tron is an important secondary character.
Also, the movie wasn't about getting data about beings of pure darkness
In all honesty, the movie's story isn't that great to begin with - the major selling point of the movie is the world it created. The basic premise - that a user trying to hack the computer gets digitised and helps overthrow the tyrannical MCP - is there, and a bunch of incidental details are present too.
The absence of Flynn and most of the supporting characters is a significant departure from the default formula of dropping Our Heroes into a (mostly) straight retelling as outsiders, but otherwise it's pretty close.
Yeah, the movie's story is...actually kinda stupid, as far as I can remember (I only watched it once, and it's been a while). Wasn't the plot that the main character gets sent into the computer world by accident when he tries to retrieve some important data that prove that the bad guy stole the main character's program or game or something? And all that happens at the end is that he prints out something and it's just...implied that this random piece of printed out paper was enough to prove the main character's case?
@@Valtharr
Flynn used to work for Encom, but got fired for whatever reason (something to do with the bad guy playing office politics and using MCP to steal other people's code and take credit for it).
Flynn sets a program (Tron) to find and print out evidence of the bad guy's wrong-doing, but gets hijacked by MCP zapping him into the computer world, where he helps defeat the MCP and allow Tron to complete his task.
Come the morning, when the bad guy comes to work, the police have been called based on the evidence of his crimes.
I need more night in the woods
WAIT if the 7 princesses were the password to the DTD because of the door to darkness thing, and sora Donald and goofy are the new password, are they also a key to the door to darkness?
Sora is the one who will open the door to light.
Nah, Ansem just made up a password based on something super important so he wouldn't forget.
Why is Squall - and apparently the Final Fantasy characters in general - so much better at using computers?
Well, in his game, Squall needs to uses a computer early on to get Guardian Forces, so he's well acquainted to them. Also, they lived in this world when Ansem was king, so technology is pretty commonplace for them. That's my guess, anyhow.
Well, you're comparing Squall to Sora, a boy who spent most of his life on a tropical island living in a treehouse and various shacks he and his friends built by themselves. He probably never even saw a computer before the events of Kingdom Hearts 1.
I/O means in and out, and it refers to all the ports of a pc, so usb ports are gonna destroy the town???
No, whatever the signal gets sent to is :&
So the I/O tower is basically the military airbase of Tron world.
USB? you mean the serial port right?
Being more technical, "Input/Output"
@@imveryangryitsnotbutter It's more like a comunication center between the real and the digital world. Which is also hooked up with the town's nukes.

There, we fixed it!
Is tron on kingdom hearts 1.5?
Best Friends Woolie and Matt are going to play through Kingdom hearts soon, so message them if they need help or else.
Or they can call in help from Liam so they at least can get some grasp on mechanics and guiding.
Wait... The bumble king and the race traitor will play the KH games? HELL YEAH!!
LoL
Nothing terribly challenging about the bike races he says... well try doing them on critical mode where a single hit takes like a third of your health. I died so often....
Donald isn't really getting with the program. But then, whenever is he?
New poll: is it pronounced "data" or "data"?
I might get hate for this but idc I hate tifa both in this game and ff7 shes just a blah character even in the remake version.
Reboot!
