@@monkylondon might be worth just doing it part time as a hobby again and making videos you enjoy making for a period of time. Shame not as easy to live off youtube as it used to be but I think if you go chasing the algorithm unless you've got big tits, big money or big commitment to making content you don't actually enjoy it'll be hard going. The expression "busy fools" comes to mind when you put in a bunch of work for not much return. IMO the Civic vids did so well because it was a "budget" build & relatable. I'm not about to say how to do your channel because I'm not a RUclipsr, but if it were me i'd say your USP's are: British (not as represented as the US, less so now with LLF etc but years ago there were hardly any British car youtubers), can drive, has a good car history/experience/stories, uses proper D&B in videos & has some good charismatic connections (Scouse etc). I'd crank out some highlight reels of your older drives with some proper D&B on shorts to satisfy the younger/short attention span crowd,(and funny highlights of your vids with Scouse, the exhaust falling off still kills me), start a low budget project up with a goal like going to X car meet, doing X track day etc (not sure whats low budget nowadays when even a 100k mile Civic demands a few grand though) & collabing with as many other RUclipsrs as possible. Even if you just reviewed other RUclipsrs cars that'd probably get others aware of John action.
Man I genuinely hope the channel doesn't come to an end.. I work on cars all day then get home and spend my evenings watching car channels on RUclips and you & Motor Addicts are always the first to be watched (some times rewatched) Don't tell Owen but this is definitely my favorite channel 🤫. I keep sending links to the lads and have got my brother glued to John action too. I know me alone is like throwing a pebble in the ocean but hopefully everything makes a change for the good soon and you get to keep doing what you clearly love doing. And once I pull my finger out my arse and get a motor worth showing off I'll definitely be applying for a feature!! Think positive man and hopefully the law of attraction will work in your favor 🤞
I'm gonna go the other way than most...we know how much you've been grinding and ultimately want to be able to go drifting consistently and competitively. From what I've seen you're a hell of a driver and I feel like you owe it to yourself to give drifting a proper shot. Got the JZX81 missile inbound which will be like a new take on the old Soarer, only with more power and more trick bits. But something I can really use to practice in and not worry about too much if it gets a bit mashed 😂 Then got the S15 now with 2JZ which will be a competition car for when John's had enough seat time. ML lad there's no easy way to say this but its the way you upload your vids and treat your channel is part of why youtube doesn't recommend your channel it's because you do some regular uploads and dissappear for a few weeks or months and then start uploading again but dissappear again youtube wants you to upload consistently not all over place try setting yourself a goal lad like 1-2 vids a week and stick to it regular upload times we will always watch your content I've been hear since the early days lad you'll always have my support but like I said it's up to you lad and complaining about funds every other vid is making you look desperate tbh imo lad, you could show us the car sales side for more content lad we love your content and remember be consistent and regular youtube will start to recommend your channel more tbh lad, other than that lad keep up the great content and you will grow my friend PS don't take offence lad at what I've said i am a long term sub to your channel and always loved the content you've provided us with lad

As a real car enthusiast, I appreciate anything so long as it has wheels and a motor. Electric or fuel, not everyone will agree but it doesn't matter. In my opinion real car enthusiasts mentally grow to appreciate anything and everything no matter what powers it 🤷♂️
See if you can work with some larger channels, i know Jimmy Broadbent wanted to learn drifting in his supra so maybe give him a shout, it'll draw more attention to your channel at the very least
