July 4, 1939 had to have been the most special day for the millions of Yankees fans both in attendance and listening on radio. Thanks for posting this nicely done video and making a part of baseball history real for me.
No problem at all. Thank you for your kind words and for your wonderful support. You made my day.
Babe was right. The 1927 Yankees are still the best team ever.

Indeed. And 1998 wasn't too 'shabby' either.

It's sad how they both died. Gehrig only 39 and Babe was 53 when he died of cancer. Babe Ruth could have had a longer life with proper healthcare
Yeah greatest First baseman of all time and greatest player of all time

Its crazy to see these old films from the 20s and 30s way before some people were born. These guys are like a myth but to see real footage of this is unreal. Just thinking about some of these guys baseball cards from that time and how cool it would be to see one, hold one or actually own one. I love the golden age of baseball because even though we may have never seen these guys or seen them play you know they existed on this earth at one point in time because of old films like this and the players way before them
Thoughtful and well said my friend. Thank you for watching and for your wonderful support. I truly appreciate it.

Babe is such a mythical figure. I bet he was strong as an ox. Its so crazy how he was so far ahead of everyone at baseball offense.

I was named after Damon Runyon who wrote about Lou Gehrig and many other things.
Amazing footage
The Sultan of Swat and the Iron Horse Lou Gehrig
I wish I could've seen them two play, along with all the rest of the Yankee greats.

Babe Ruth adopted a little girl (apparently she was biologically his), Lou’s mother (maybe at a party) made some silly out of line comment about how Babe’s wife was raising the kid. Obviously Babe was furious and told Lou G something like “tell your mother to mind her own business…” maybe said something more serious. Lou G not knowing what happened was also insulted by the way Ruth was talking about his mother. Long story short, they didn’t talk to each other for a big portion of the 20s.

Babe hated lou for some reason but actually showed remorse to lou when Babe figured out that lou was dying.
Thank you for watching and for your support.
I don't think the Babe hated him because why would he be there if he did also he hugged him.
Nonsense
Lou actually was mad at Babe because of a comment Babe made about Lou's mom. As you probably know, Lou was super close to his mom.
Steven is right in his comment. Babe Ruth adopted a little girl (apparently she was biologically his), Lou’s mother made some silly out of line comment about how Babe’s wife was raising the kid. Obviously Babe was furious and told Lou G something like “tell your mother to mind her own business…” maybe said something more serious.
