This video is amazing especially very beginner knitter like me.I am not good with magic loupe technique.however now I can cast on because this video.love her voice and the way of her explaining..thank you very much for helping to new knitter.
Hi amira1208, Thank you for your kind comment :) As a knit lover, I believe, some techniques and patterns we should share them! I would love to make friend and knit community!
i just wanted to give you a BIG THANK YOU....i have been SO frustrated with the circle needles.. i could cast on ect.. but could not find ONE video that showed me what you did.. I also learned to cast on another way after watching you as well. I have the neck part done and moving on to next video. Have a blessed day!
Thank you for your comment. I’m glad my video helped you :) Once you learn how to do it, you improve your knitting skills because you can knit pretty much anything! Good luck and enjoy knitting!
Thank you so much! You make it so easy to understand. And I love that you repeat it several times because it takes me three or four times of seeing it before I'm able to remember LOL. I'm going to make for my mom's Little 4-pound Chihuahua so it's nice that you explained how to adjust the size!! 🐕🐕
Thank you for your comment :) I'm glad you like my video! I decided to make this video, because a lot of people have struggled to find a really small dog sweater, so your mom probably has same issue! Good for you to knit one for her dog! And these days, it's so expensive to buy them. If you have any problem, please let me know, I'm willing to help you :) Enjoy knitting!
love this video it helped me so much. Since I'm a beginner, this really helped and the explanation was very clear. I have now learned new techniques and I definitely love this video thank you so much. 💛
Hi Amber, thank you so much for your kind comment! I'm glad you like it. I had exactly same experience especially this cable knitting. If you have any question, please let me know :) Enjoy!
I am so happy to learn this technique! It is not new but I just couldn’t get it. I’m dyslexic so trying to understand something that has dimension from looking at drawings is hard. The way you explained it and modeled it, it all clicked with me I have knit for almost 50 years. I’m not bad but last night I was about to give up on an idea I was trying to make happen because I just didn’t think I would be able to finish in time. I have two little foster puppies, 8 week old, one lb Chihuahua sisters. They are going to meet some possible adopters this weekend. Being Chihuahuas they snuggle a lot. It keeps them warm. I decided to make some quick sweaters for them. Unfortunately, I got all involved picking out the right pattern, yarn of wool or alpaca that wouldn’t be too hard for someone to to take care of. I decided to skip the sweaters because I already have things to sew before Christmas. Then I did a search on RUclips for “sweaters, quick, cute small dog” and this pattern is perfect. And I will still have time to make masks, finish a quilt, an extra long mermaid tail and a bunch of gnomes. I just can’t believe I have finally learned this great way of using my circular needles where I used to hunt for the right dpns ! Thank you bunches and bunches.
Thank you for your comment :) I’m glad you liked it, and I can’t believe that you’ve knitting for 50 years!!! This dog sweater are so easy and fast to knit, especially for small dog! Enjoy knitting and good luck!

Or you can watch this video, I talked about the gauge :) ruclips.net/video/mJ1DUng50NA/видео.html Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
Love this sweater! My question is, do I have to use your technique of folding stitches in half and knitting 1 side at a time, and pulling needle out or can I just do straight knitting in the round? Thank you
Hi Dorothy, thank you for your question, I had to use the magic loop technique because I didn't have a right length of cable. People don't always have a right cable for each project, if not, use a long one and do the magic loop technique. Other word, if you have a right length of cable for the project, just knit in the round! That's the best! Enjoy knitting!
Thank you for your comment :) The needle size was 4mm, the yarn was #4. This is a customize size adjustable sweater, so you can use any needle and any yarn you want. I made my first doggy sweater for my daughter's stuffed animal dog...we love the colors of the sweater you made for your 10lb Yorkie - what color/brand is it? The purples, gold, jades are beautiful together. Thank you for an easy successful project!
What a cute idea! This yarn was LOOPS & THREADS Impeccable Color 02008. Are you asking me the other sweater? If so, Red Heart Soft, I don't know the product #.
I made one for my 7pound yorkie with your vidoes. Had a request to make one for my sister-in-laws 70 pound golden retriever! Suggestions on cast on etc would be great!! I need help lol

I need 2 numbers from you. 1. dog's neck measurement. 2. your stitch count within 4" swatch Make a swatch with the yarn and needles you're going to use, then count stitches across. Hello!! Thanks for your videos! This has been the first project I have ever knitted. I am very happy and very grateful. You explain very well. I have knitted this sweater for a kitten and I have been able to adapt it without problem. Greetings from Spain!
Thank you for your comment :) Good for you, you did it!!! I'm glad to hear you like this video! Oh and I didn't know it's cold in winter in Spain! Anyway, Enjoy knitting! XOXO from Canada :)
How much yarn do you need to make this sweater for your 10 lbs Yorkie? I am going to start shopping. Thank you for doing this, you have inspired me to improve my basic knitting skills. Your works are exquisite.
Thank you for your comment :) I probably used about much less than 100 yards. Depends on how long you want to knit, but 1 ball is plenty. I used Loops & Thread Impeccable 192 yds/175m 100g #4 yarn. Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
for me, i’m using DK yarn and 4mm straight knitting needles. i have a 5lb yorkie and he measures 25.4cm around the neck, and i have to cast on 50 stitches + 2 to join right at the end. thank you for this video!
Thank you for your comment :) You have a perfect size Yorkie! Mine is now over 11 lb, I call him Jumbo Yorkie lol. He is a pure yorkie. Anyway I hope you & your Yorkie have a great time with new sweater! And I have lots of sweater video, check them out :) Enjoy knitting!
I'm making my second dog sweater using your wonderful video. Last time I used the Jeweltone from Red Heart. What is the name of the yarn brand and color you used for your small Yorkie, the mixed pink, green, rose? Thx.
Wow this is such a cool video and so detailed! I've watched all three of them already! Really enjoyed it although I'm a total beginner. I have just ordered my first set of needles and yarn. I will start with scarves and simple things first but my goal is to knit my dog a jumper :) trouble is she is a greyhound and very big compared to a yorkie. She is also deep chested unlike the average dog shape. Would this still work for her? I know all of her measurements.
Hi Welcome to the Knitting World! Thank you for your comment :) I'm very happy you're interested in my dog sweater. Here is the swatch video! ruclips.net/video/baVuwr-U86U/видео.html And for your dog, I believe you should use thick yarn and needle, because much bigger dog than Yorkie. @@BeginnersLUCKraft thanks so much for replying, your videos are a pleasure to watch! When I've done some practising I will rewatch all of them. By thick yarn do you mean chunky? Sorry I'm still very new to this!
@@Zinas_world Yes Chunky is better to start with. Once you make it, you can try thinner yarn like #4 worsted. Any help, let me know, sometimes people feel silly to ask, but don't be shy! Knitting is sometimes very complicated. And it's good for me to know where the people are struggling, so I can improve my video. Win-win! Talk to you soon :)
@@BeginnersLUCKraft I'm sure I'll be right back to your videos and asking questions as soon as I start knitting. Your kind help is really appreciated, thank you 🧡 happy New year to you!
I was just wondering if you prefer to use bamboo circulars instead of metal ones? Every tutorial I’ve watched of yours (cuz I’m a subscriber) so far you’ve used Clover circulars. I want to invest in lasting quality interchangeable needles someday soon so that I too can become creative - lol! Btw - I absolutely love your designs and techniques!!!
Thank you for your comment, and that is a good question! I want to know too! I've been using only this bamboo circular needle. I have some regular metal needle. When i bought a set of circular needle, I picked Clover one, because I am Japanese and this company is very big in Japan, Almost EVERYBODY uses! so I didn't really think about anything, haha. Lately when i see some metal ones, i really want to try them too! Anyway in my opinion about this bamboo, excellent! very smooth especially a cord, very flexible as well, a bit pricey though...
Hi Grancie, thank you for your comment. The written pattern is in the description box for part 3 video. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/I_LZE66Wvz8/видео.html Enjoy knitting!
Hi thank you for your comment. I started knitting a dog sweater because it's too expensive and won't fit it well! This way a lot cheaper and will fit perfectly! Win Win!! Enjoy knitting!
I am using circular needles but not magic loop so I am a bit confused starting leg holes when you say to skip the first one and start on second one. Is it different just going round and round then using magic loop? Thank you so much if you answer this question for me. I appreciate your videos so much.
Ok, the reason why I said "skip the first one", because the begin marker was in the middle of the first leg which is dog's right leg hole. So just knit until the second leg (left leg) marker, and bind off, then come around the first one (because we are knitting in round), then you can bind off the right leg. do you know what i mean? But this is not important. You can start with right leg hole if you want! I hope you understand what I'm saying. Good luck!
Oh I finally got it and started the leg holes then when I cast on stitches and went to the just knitting my cast on stitches were way too loose and I knew I messed up so I tried to go back and really messed up so I am going to start over. Thank you so much for your hrlpful advise and videos. You are amazing.
@@Me-ez3bx I don't know how loose it was, but usually very loose at first, but when you start knitting more rows, it should be fine. One thing you can do is, when you add new casts, make sure it's not too loose, but again, it will be loose in next 2 rows. Also next time, use the security line before you start doing leg hole. Then you don't have to start all over again. The security line is just adding the scrap yarn in 1 row with your tapestry needle. Even you make a mistake, you can always come back to the place where you add the security line without losing any stitches. I don't have a video for that, so here is the link ruclips.net/video/iRcRFNlxhhY/видео.html Good luck! Oh if you don't like loose leg hole, there is one more way to solve the problem, which is 1 row button hole technique 18:46 ruclips.net/video/WbM0EZcTPHo/видео.html I used this technique sometimes.
@@BeginnersLUCKraft Thank you I cant believe how helpful you are to so many people. It is so kind of you. I will definitely use the life line for future projects. I did start over I will let you know how it turnw out. Thank you again.
I have one more question and I promise I won't bother you again. When you do the first decrease it looks like your doing it with some on one side of the start marker and the other on the other side like it was really another row. I am not wording this quite right but hope it makes sense. From the start marker to the stitch marker there is only 5 stitches so should I decrease there and then on the other side of the stitch marker again. I wish I could explain myself better. Thank you so much
Crocheter here learning to knit. I love the video ! One question: I’m making a sweater for my 14lb dog. How many stitches for that pattern? Thanks in advance 😊
Hi thank you for your comment :) My Yorkie is 10 lb, I usually start with 60 to 70 casts depends on the yarn and needle. So I would say around 80 for your dog. However you should watch this video, I'm talking about swatch and gauge. ruclips.net/video/baVuwr-U86U/видео.html Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
Just found your channel! Thank you so much for such a clear & patient tutorial. It's perfect for me to follow. Can I ask what brand yarn you used for this green/watermelon colored stripe pattern? Thank you again!

This was the just sample one, so I'm not quite sure, but I'll try to help you ruclips.net/video/mJ1DUng50NA/видео.html This tutorial is the best to understand for changing the sizes. Watch this, and knit your swatch. Then let me know your gauge and measurement!
I tried with 16 inch circular and couldn’t get the technique of pulling out the cable, doesn’t seem to be enough cable. I cast on 46. Is yours the magic loop method? Could I just do it in the round?
Thank you for your comment :) To answer your question, the technique I used, was the magic loop technique. The length of cable is people's preference. First of all, if you have many variety of circular cable, and right length, you don't need to use this magic loop technique, just knit in round. People don't usually have many choices, including me, so I must use the magic loop technique. I usually prefer to use the longer cable, but sometimes people say "tangle easily", so I used 16". If you have a right length of cable and are able to knit in round, just do it! If not, use the longer cable. Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
And 1 more thing, use this tutorial, ruclips.net/video/mJ1DUng50NA/видео.html This is a better video with written pattern in the description box. If you want to download the written pattern for free, go to my website www.beginners-luckraft.com/free-pattern It's absolutely free!
Just a quick fyi you can also use 2 circs. I do socks this way all the time for my granddaughter and find it easier to maneuver than an extra long cable. Whatever works right? I love this tutorial!
@@Sunflower139 Hello, You should watch this → ruclips.net/video/mJ1DUng50NA/видео.htmlsi=VMKoxoks_jk9zPYa Knitting a swatch is very important, you have to know your gauge before you start!
Thank you for your comment :) Do you have a DPN? If so, you can knit this. To answer your question, of course you can crochet. There are many patterns out there, unfortunately I don't have any at this moment. I will make one in the future... Enjoy knitting!
Hi Cara, thank you for your comment. And I love challenging! OK, Greyhound! They have a huge chest compare to their neck and tummy, it's understandable, because they are racing dog, I believe they need the bigger lungs than others. Anyway, if I were you, I would like to use #5 yarn which is thicker yarn, so you can knit a lot faster, and once you make the leg openings, I probably keep increasing stitches until you hit the dog's biggest chest. Then I would decrease some stitches but not too many because the dog has such a big chest, you need a big opening to pull through that part as well. However if you keep knitting, it's going to be too huge around the tummy, so I probably split 2, then I try to wrap the bottom around the tummy like KIMONO (JAPANESE TRADITIONAL CLOTH). If you're beginner, you probably get confused, so I will try to make one for a sample :)
Thank you for your comment :) My dog is 11 pound and I usually make 70 casts on, so I would say 75 to 80 casts should be enough, here is my dog sweater playlists ruclips.net/video/EjVhkM7pmL8/видео.html There is a simple one for 11 lb, check it out!
How do you know how to adjust? I’m making a sweater for my best friend but her dog isn’t the normal size. She’s between medium and large. I don’t know how much she weighs but I measured her in inches.
Hi Maggie, thank you for your question. You need to know the dog size such as measurement of around dog's neck (you don't want to choke a dog lol), measurement from bottom of neck to the top of legs, from leg to tummy (because you don't want to cover everything for pee), and the measurement from back of the bottom neck to dog's back. And also you need to know the dog's waist line to make sure the sweater is big enough for dog. So If you don't have any clue about that dog, it's very hard to knit, but once you know all these measurements, you should be able to knit. If you want me to help, let me know. If so, let's start telling me what kind of dog is this sweater for. Good luck and enjoy knitting!
@@BeginnersLUCKraft I have the measurements but you still don't explain how to know how many stitches per inch. I made the neck but I think it's too big. Dog is a Boston Terrier 14" neck and chest is 25". From neck to top of leg is 4"
Can I ask the yarn & needle you're using? If you're using same as mine, and 14" Neck, probably i would start with Cast on 90. I don't take any gauge, and I have a dog with me, so I usually put the sweater on him to make sure it fits him. And Chest 25 is quite big compare to 14" neck, I will ask around :)
Beginner's LUCKraft yarn size 3 needle size 7. I cared in 152 but that made it way too large. I just unraveled it because it was enough for my head to fit. 😂
Hi thank you for your question, I don't think 70 casts are enough for 17 lb, my Yorkie is 10 - 11 lb, and usually 60 to 70 casts depend on the yarn and needle. Please check my swatch video, and let me know your knitting tension, if you want a perfect cast! ruclips.net/video/baVuwr-U86U/видео.html Enjoy knitting!
Hi, I’m so confused. The video says 16” cable needles, and I bought one, but it is NOWHERE close to the length of your cable needles. What is the actual length of your needles (from tip of first needle to tip of other needle)? My guess is 48 inches but please let me know!
Thank you for your question, and I'm sorry if I got you confused. The needle itself is 4". which means 8" for both. And 16" circular cable. Total of 22" Did this help you? Let me know!
Do I need to adjust the size of the cable to fit my dog or will a 16 in be fine? I measured my dog right behind her front legs and she measures 18 inches
Thank you for your question. To answer your question, the length of cable is your preference. You can use an exactly same length of cable as your dog size, but I prefer to use much longer cable and using a magic loop technique. It's easier to knit a small project like this for me. If your dog is bigger than cable length, it's fine, but you can't really make sure whether the project fits your dog or not. If you really want to make sure in the middle of knitting, you must transfer all the stitches to a scrap yarn. Do you know what I mean? Well if you only have 16" cable or shorter, you can knit it, this is my answer! Enjoy Knitting!
My Yorkie is about 11" around his neck, 10 lb. I usually make 70 casts to start it with DK #4 yarn and 3.5 ~ 3.73 mm needle. so, I would say 76 to 80 casts should be OK. Watch this video :) Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
@@jmoo7208 Hi! Can you understand a written pattern without watching a video, if so, I might be able to help. I'm just extremely busy at this moment, so I can't make a video for you, but I can try to write a pattern.

Metal, wood, and so on it doesn't matter, as long as needle with circular cable or double point needle, because my sweater is seamless, another word, you have to knit round, not connect! Enjoy knitting!
Hi thanks so much for the video I’m going to try it for my friends small to medium size dog :) the dog I’m knitting for is bigger than your 10 pound Yorkie based on neck size alone. If I am making this for a larger dog do I need to change the needle size or perhaps just the length of the circular join between needles?
Hello, thank you for your comment. To answer your question, my dog sweater is completely customize, so you can use any type of yarn and needle. If you will knit one for bigger than 10 lb, I would recommend you to use at least #4 DK yarn and 4.5 mm needle, because that way faster to finish it. The cable length is up to you, I don't have many shorter cable, so I usually use a longer one, this is just my preference. If you need more question, please let me know :) Enjoy knitting!
Beginner's LUCKraft no that’s perfect thanks so much, just wanted to make sure I have enough room on the cable for when I’m knitting the torso part of the sweater :)
I am in a remote town but managed to find 5mm circular needles with matching yarn but the needles are tip to tip 43cm and the plastic cord only 22cm. My max round I have to knit will be 60cm. I started my cast on and tried to knit first row but I feel the cord needs to be longer. My apologies but do you have a recommendation if I need a longer cable? Knitting supplies are hard to find here! Many thanks!!!
@@joannahardie2564 Hi Joanna, I have an exactly same needle and cable, the max casts I made with these needle and cable are about 140 casts, which probably over 70 cm when you start knitting. Example my dog's sweater is about 35 cm with 70 casts, so about around 120 casts to 130 casts would be about 60 cm neck I believe. So I think you can knit this with your current cable and needle. How many cast do you think to start with? Let me know :)
Beginner's LUCKraft thanks! My neck needs to be around 36 cm so I was thinking 72 cast ons. This I have started but perhaps I am just a beginner knitter and struggling?! I find it difficult to continue the first row of knit so I am concerned when I get to my max round size of the chest of the dog at 60cm. My dog is 10 lb Yorkie, and 26 cm neck, I usually use #4 DK yarn and 4 mm needle, then I make 70 Cast on. So if yours are 33 cm, I would start with 76 to 80 casts. Once you knit 5 cm, check it, if you need to adjust, you might have to do it before too late!! Enjoy knitting!

The strangest thing i keep unraveling and re do. For some reason I castes on 46 but after my first knit round i always end up with 45 but I use everything on the needle strange.
That's the strangest thing I've ever heard!!! After you noticed that there is only 45 instead of 46, did you knit 1 more around? The reason why I asked, because if you don't find the reason, you will keep making same mistake. The possibilities are "you drop stitch somewhere, most likely the first one?!", "you slip over other stitch" and so on. If you can't find anything......, wow scary.... lol Good luck, and let me know :)

If you're a beginner, and you just made your first one, you should knit same basic sweater few more times. Because my other dog sweaters are pretty much same basic, just different design. And I am editing super easy dog sweater video right now, so stay tuned! Enjoy knitting!
Hi Honey Cake (What a cute handle name), My Yorkie is 10 lb and I make 70 cast with #4 yarn and 3.5mm needle, so I assume you should start with 56 to 60 cast. OR you can make a swatch to make sure. Enjoy Knitting!
Beginner's LUCKraft Thank you so much. The sweater turned out beautifully. I just got another request from my friend who has a 4-5 pound yorkie. I hope this one turns out just as beautiful. It only turned out so beautiful thanks to your amazing tutorial. Amazing job!!
Thank you for your comment :) Are you able to use a DPN? You can knit this with DPN. That's one optional. And in the future, if you can use this Magic Loop Technique, your knitting skill will be improved the most significantly. So my suggestion is "Don't give up" Here is my other (maybe better video), Real step by step for a dog sweater. You should watch it ruclips.net/video/mJ1DUng50NA/видео.html And here is the magic loop technique video as well ruclips.net/video/rKVWi9l6ROA/видео.html It was very hard for me to do at first, everybody has that moment. I want to tell you that this is sooo much hard for me and i think that it is not for begginers at all. I felt really really very much stupid because itrued so much hard to do this and i just could not metch it. I am sorry this video make me only angry and feeling stupid
Hi thank you for your comment :) I'm very sorry to hear that this was too hard for you. Actually I believe a lot of people feel same way if you're beginner. I felt same way long time ago. Don't be angry and don't feel stupid, because you are not. You just need to practice, that's it. If I was you, I probably go to watch many other tutorial videos, and practice. And if you still don't get it, you can ask somebody in person. People have a preference how to learn things. If you want, I can try to help you, but I don't know how, because I don't know which part you're having trouble. I assume a magic loop technique. Anyway Good Luck!
Thank you for writing to me and I apologize for my desperate outburst of anger. Maybe if what you show in the video is written, it will be easier for me to translate it and follow it step by step. I had a problem with the needles first. It was extremely difficult for me to put the stitches and then it was even harder for me to return them. The hoop was constantly hemming and bothering me. I make the dents with my left hand and I couldn't understand how you do them with your right hand, I don't know how to catch the yarn with my right hand. I gave up the part with knit-purl.
Thank you so much for replying me. I’m glad to hear what you’re struggled. I’m working on other dog Sweater right now. Maybe after that, I’ll try to make more easier video. Sounds like once you understand how to knit with magic loop technique, you’re able to knit one. And I’ll write it down as well! Please don’t give up! I actually made this video for someone like you. She had tough time for so long, and she found my channel, asked me for help. After I made this video, she didn’t still quite get it either, and I taught her by email and every way I can. Now she is a great knitter! She has been knitting so many dog Sweater for rescue dogs. But it took for a long time. Anyway keep in touch :)

Hi Amber, thank you so much for your kind comment! I'm glad you like it. I had exactly same experience especially this cable knitting. If you have any question, please let me know :) Enjoy!
I agree with you!

You might want to watch this video.
I need 2 numbers from you.
1. dog's neck measurement.
2. your stitch count within 4" swatch
Make a swatch with the yarn and needles you're going to use, then count stitches across.
My suggestion is to use a bit thicker yarn and needles such as #5 chunky yarn, and 6 mm needles , something like that.
That way, faster to finish it.

I made one of these this week and am now starting a second for my other dog. Is there any way you could show the pattern at the end of the videos.
Hi Grancie, thank you for your comment. The written pattern is in the description box for part 3 video. Here is the link ruclips.net/video/I_LZE66Wvz8/видео.html Enjoy knitting!
I couldnt justify myself spending $30 pn a dog sweater until I watched this....
Hi thank you for your comment. I started knitting a dog sweater because it's too expensive and won't fit it well! This way a lot cheaper and will fit perfectly! Win Win!! Enjoy knitting!
Totally 💯😂
I don't have a video for that, so here is the link ruclips.net/video/iRcRFNlxhhY/видео.html
Good luck!
Oh if you don't like loose leg hole, there is one more way to solve the problem, which is 1 row button hole technique 18:46 ruclips.net/video/WbM0EZcTPHo/видео.html
I used this technique sometimes.
Thanks in advance 😊

i don't have the circle needles so would i still be able to make a sweater for my dog?
Thank you for your question! Do you have any DPN? If you do, you can do it!

Can this be knitted on circular needles with out the magic loop
Of course! As long as you have a right cable, short enough and long enough! Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
Just a quick fyi you can also use 2 circs. I do socks this way all the time for my granddaughter and find it easier to maneuver than an extra long cable. Whatever works right? I love this tutorial!

Any tips for a beginner making a 27inch shoulder to tail greyhound jumper? The chest shape is VERY different... ✌️♥️🏴🙏🙏🙏
Love your video, really helpful! If I have a 13 pound cat, how many stitches would I need?
Thank you for your comment :) My dog is 11 pound and I usually make 70 casts on, so I would say 75 to 80 casts should be enough, here is my dog sweater playlists ruclips.net/video/EjVhkM7pmL8/видео.html There is a simple one for 11 lb, check it out!

Would the 70 count cast on work for a 17 pound jack Russell
Total of 22"
Did this help you?
My dog is 12 inches on her neck. Could you explain how many cast on should I make?
My Yorkie is about 11" around his neck, 10 lb. I usually make 70 casts to start it with DK #4 yarn and 3.5 ~ 3.73 mm needle. so, I would say 76 to 80 casts should be OK.
Watch this video :) Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
I have straight needles, is it still possible to do it ? I’m a bit stuck 🥲
Thank you for your comment :) Well it's not impossible, but for sure much harder, where are you at now?
@@BeginnersLUCKraft I have just started doing a rectangular shape and then I thought I might do each piece separately

Can someone answer me how many do I do for my dog that is 7 pounds
Thank you for your comment:) This is just my guess, but I assume 56 to 60 casts should be enough. My dog Yorkie is 11 lb, and I usually make 70 casts to start with 4.5 mm needle and #4 yarn. However if you want to know the exact #, you need to make a swatch and take a gauge. Here is the video for that :) ruclips.net/video/baVuwr-U86U/видео.html If you still don't get it, let me know! Good luck and Enjoy knitting!
Mine is around 7 and I used 56
@@natashascott2925 Thank you for confirming! Good to know :) Are you happy with your dog sweater? Enjoy knitting!
Hi my dog is 4 pounds how many stitches would I need?
Thank you for your comment :) If you use same type of yarn and needle as mine, you can knit same pattern as this tutorial, however this is just my guess. Check this out ruclips.net/video/baVuwr-U86U/видео.html If you want me to find the perfect casts on #, I need some #, Please watch this video, and let me know :) Enjoy knitting!
do you need the rod needles? i just have regular metal ones. i have a small kitten though. would it still work? ly! ❤️❤️❤️
Metal, wood, and so on it doesn't matter, as long as needle with circular cable or double point needle, because my sweater is seamless, another word, you have to knit round, not connect! Enjoy knitting!
Can I knit this with dpns?
Of course! No problem, but don't ask me, I'm not good at it lol
But should I just continue and be very careful with my stitches?
Is their apart 2 and 3
Yes, in the description box :) Good luck and Enjoy knitting!

@@BeginnersLUCKraft She's an overweight pit bull....🤣 I'm 100 pounds too,and glad she's well trained :)))

@@vivienneclarke2421 you can measure around her neck, chest, neck to tail to see how many cm/inches she is then adjust the pattern accordingly 🙂. As long as you have the basic idea, you can make this for any dog.
Would does work for a chihuahua?
Sure! Good luck and Enjoy Knitting :)
Thank you for such an informative video, if my boyfriend's dog (who is overseas:() has a neck of 33cm, how many stitches should I cast on?
My dog is 10 lb Yorkie, and 26 cm neck, I usually use #4 DK yarn and 4 mm needle, then I make 70 Cast on. So if yours are 33 cm, I would start with 76 to 80 casts. Once you knit 5 cm, check it, if you need to adjust, you might have to do it before too late!! Enjoy knitting!
How do I check whether how many stitches I need to make so that it fit my dog.
Thank you for your comment! The best way to check is knit few rows as sample, then put it onto your dog. That's what I did. At first, you feel like wasting your time to do, but once you know, you will be able to knit a perfect size for your dog!

If I were you, I would knit slowly for 1 more round, and taking a good look every stitch to find out what was the cause. If you can't find anything......, wow scary.... lol Good luck, and let me know :)
Hi, thank your much, I am a beginner, after 3 times unravelling, i figured out probably because I was twisting them around while knitting, so I might have dropped a stitch. I rewatched your video over n over n I finished my first sweater. Thank you so much! I really love your step by step. how much should I cast on for a 8 pound cavapoo?
Hi Honey Cake (What a cute handle name), My Yorkie is 10 lb and I make 70 cast with #4 yarn and 3.5mm needle, so I assume you should start with 56 to 60 cast. OR you can make a swatch to make sure. Enjoy Knitting!
