- What if...Winter King was actually way worse?
Here's my little take on Winter King's character! What if he was actually a killer? What if he's actually a really awful person? I mean, more of an asshole than he is in the show lol. Anyways, interpret this how you'd like.
In this little animatic Winter King woos Fionna and Simon to a White Winter Ball. He manages to freeze them to death. Go Figure.
Let's ignore the fact that cake disappears half way through. shhh. i do not see it.
oh also i still couldn't figure out how to get rid of some of the artifacts in the export footage. if ya'll have tips for that lemme know pls. if you're reading this hello

Half the views are gonna be from me on this lol. Im obsessed with how well chilling this is (pun intended lol). It’s filled with so much dread when Simon realizes too late that he and Fionna are going to freeze death. It’s so cool. I love how unnerving it all is like damnnnn.

Okay listen I know this is like my 3rd comment, but this is now coming from an appreciation of animation cuz holy hell. The way you timed everything perfectly it's almost like this song was MADE for this animatic. I'm not sure how else to describe it, but there's specific beats and flows in the music that perfectly match the atmosphere and topic of the animatic. The dancing sequences are especially captivating with this. BUT THE ENDING THOUGH OKAY LISTEN- the ending in animatic and music match perfectly. When showing the dread, it's just SO GOODDDD. The way the music beats go by as we see each of their faces, then WK and Fionna's hands, then his manical smile as he's clearly happy with his murders of Simon and Fionna. I actually get really inspired by this as an artist and aspiring animator! It's so cool!

I have to admit to myself, since I saw the end of the video I thought of two alternative endings at the same time.
The good ending:
Cake saves her owner and Simon with the help of Candy Queen (Crazy, right?) and Winter King DIE like the original, HAPPY ENDING. RIGHT?
Bad ending:
A week has passed, Fionna was frozen to death by the Winter King, Cake is still a mystery but maybe she was also killed by the Winter King, and Simon... is paralyzed for a week, he knows that the Winter King will put the crown on him (it could be twisted). but he keeps his end of his bargain). Which means having the same sanity to become like him... a twisted, apathetic Simon and even the murderer of his friends (Fionna and Cake). What would happen to his life? He had to be crazy for a thousand years, he had to use his crown to protect little Marcy, he lost his Betty twice, because he couldn't let her go... .?
Well... it would have to be the ice king THAT dies inside... RIGHT?
But hey, THE ANIMATION WAS GOOD

I know this is going to disappear in the comments plus I'm commenting late but God this is so cool the way we are shown a dark side of the winter king (which probably could have happened seeing how he is in the series) in which Simon as a good connoisseur knows but nobody listens to him also remembering when he wanted to save the Candy Queen but Fionna didn't listen to him, this is simply art.
I need more, like- a shit tone more of this AU... I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HIS MOTIVATION FOR DOING THIS IS!!!

I like the idea that once Fiona and Simon were frozen The Winter King was able to convert them into ice people. (Like what Bonnie did to those people that look like her, I forgot their names LOL) And made them citizens of his icy palace without remembering their past lives.

I hope it does because I saw it yesterday and wanted to see it today so I searched "winter king" and this masterpiece wasn't there. So I cried panicked and then remembered it's still in my view history. Oh god
But who knows maybe I'll stop rewatching it one day and then the other (like month later) I'll want to rewatch again but I wouldn't be able to find it...... Then I'll panic harder than today
