@@giuliasunflower Yes, and taking the time to reflect on them as well. Of course, the sound alone from this album sticks with you, but coupled with the lyrics it's even more impactful, being able to relate to experiences and emotions that can be hard to express alone. "Brand New Person" to me is a song about addiction. This is the love he can't explain - the solitary answer he knows is wrong - the mistake he will continue to make even has he becomes a new person.
So hypnotized by hearing this album and experiencing this “ “ with a female Im in love and so many emotions… Most I’ve ever cried ( while being intoxicated) ( ashamed of yes)
great reaction, i love how you just grooved through this too!! just discovered your channel and im definetley subscribing after this!!! much love from California !!
You kinda missed the point with ''Cause I'm a man''. He's saying basically that men are dumb. And there's a greater force I answer to means he's human at the end of the day, and humans fuck up. Lyrics aside, his delicate vocals are amazing in this track, and it's one of the top three of the album for sure.
I was really caught by surprise by this song, I felt like saying a lot but not finding the right words to. I agree how he acknowledges that in the end, we're all human. What I meant was that his words/thoughts are tied to his nature of being a man, to his experience and overall sense, that's why it comes out so honest and not like something else, which is amazing ✨ Since my first listen, this one has been growing on me 😌🌻
@@jiffy6969 The song is an admission of the biological forces that dictate mens behavior. Its an understanding of why hes behaved the way he has in the past. He is not trying to admit himself of guilt or to say that its morally right. It's always come across to me in an apathetic tone. Hes trying to atone for his action not admit himself of wrongdoing.
cause im man is actually a tongue in cheek song about that kind of mentality, its not meant to be taken seriously, though its sad to see people that do
There's B-side tracks? 😲 I had no idea, defitinely checking them out! (Probably in my own time but thanks for bringing attention to them 😊) And thank you! 🥺💖
Since you enjoyed this album I kinda want to recommend glass animals music *its not that similar i feel like its more colourful and like playful* they have 3 albums : zaba, how to be a human being, dreamland I can't even recommend one of them They are all interesting and just.. good so basically zaba feels like running through a zoo the lyrics are written in a way to make you feel more then to make sense, how to be a human being is a collection of stories from conversations they had with real people and every song tells a persons story (except the last song that one is special its from the bands own experience) dreamland is about nostalgia it's devaided into 3 collections (childhood, adolescence, adulthood) its like stories form his own life
I'm sort of familiar with Glass Animals! Haven't listen to their discography yet, aside from 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀 and 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗲𝘆. It's so cool that they build their albums like that, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 sounds really interesting and I'm a sucker for coming-of-age stories so 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 seems right up my alley. Will defitinely check them out (can't assure a reaction but maybe!), thanks for recommending! 💖
@@giuliasunflower maybe listen to one track before you commit to the album? "Grolandic Edit" by Of Montreal from their album "Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer?" The album explores similar themes to Currents (relationships, growth, doubt) but is more direct and rich in language

i'll consider it 😌
@@giuliasunflower yes please! lonerism and the slow rush reaction
I second this
I discovered Tame Impala in 2022 and this album is so precious.
It really is 😌💖
I discovered him 2018, with the less I know the better, then for 4 years I hadn't listened to a different one of his songs (biggest mistake I made)
I discovered Kevin (Tame Impala) in 2010 with his release of "Innerspeaker".
Awesome reaction 😁 Kevin is one of the most talented musicians alive today.
Agree! wish i've had got into his music sooner but i'm here now 😌

its a perfect album, i love it
Omg is rare to see someone love Yes I’m changing
It’s only “they” when they play live but Kevin makes all the music and plays all the instruments.
I acknowledge that at the beginning but It took me some time to get used to it 😅

I saw it as a critique of toxic masculinity and the deeper issues that are rooted within that kinda idealogy
