I remember when I heard Tame Impala for the first time in 2010. Their music was such a fusion of Pink Floyd and Beatles and all good things from Prog rock and the mid 60's psychadelia with a modern twist using modern recording and production techniques. This would be the music that John Lennon or Syd Barrett would have made.

    • @GappyHigashikata9

Funny that you mentioned Pink Floyd and The Bealtes. The lyrics are so poignant, but the music just speaks on a whole other level. It is the musical personification of personal change and all the highs and lows that come with that. Incredibly powerful. You should definitely check out "I'm wide awake, its morning" by bright eyes, it's also emo folk like phoebe bridgers!

You should listen to lonersim which is his transition from innerspeaker (psy rock with a lot of pedals and no synths) and currents (psy synth pop music with a lot of synthetic sound with almost no guitars).

You’ve probably heard Rihannas cover of Same Person, Same Old Mistake that’s why it sounds familiar

Would suggest to you an album for you to react :
The Balcony - Catfish & the Bottlemen
Maybe you can try listen to their single first : Kathleen and then if it can attract you more, then try go to the whole album.
