Always enjoy your videos. Triggers by Scar has a CZ 457 trigger upgrade. I have not tried one yet. I have been very happy with my CZ triggers, after upgrading the springs.
@@Appalachained How do u like the trigger by scar? And is it a true 3 oz? With stoning the stock trigger I have mine at 7.5-8oz and super crisp but on my benchrest 457 3oz would be nice.
I tried to adjust the stock trigger on my CZ 457 At One and got it too low which interfered with the sear, freezing the bolt and the trigger. Brought it back to functioning to around 1lb 14oz.
The solution to this problem is actually quite simple: The trigger is set incorrectly (too light)! If you increase the trigger weight by about half a turn of the adjustment screw, this problem will probably be solved immediately. Just try it out!
replacing the sear spring that Timney sent me seems to have solved my problem. The challenge when I tried last they are impossible to get a hold of and they don't return emails. I hope you have better luck,
After replace the sear. I have not had any issues. Of course not having to deal with replacing anything is ideal. I think you'll be very happy with the trigger.
I installed the Timney trigger and at first it seemed to work fine. Then I put the safety on and the gun fired. WTH. So we tried it again and when we had it safe and loaded a bullet as soon as it was chamberd it shot. We didn't oull the trigger. I'll call Timney tomorrow
It's one of two reasons. The light sear spring would make sense or the trigger pre travel or over travel is a touch to short and it's not allowing the sear to reset and the trigger and sear are just hitting together instead of sliding on each other.
At this point I believe replacing the sear spring solved the problem. I have had several hundred round through the rifle after replacing the sear spring all has been good. Replacing the sear spring ruclips.net/video/c6NtaH7gEXA/видео.html
The title of the video says problem resolved, but I don't understand what was done to resolve the problem. I saw another video dated Mar 6, 2022, that shows you replacing the sear spring, but in the closing seconds you have another trigger failure. In this video, you replaced the trigger with a new one. Is that what resolved the issue? Were you still able to get 8 oz out of it? I know minimum advertised pull by Timney is 10 oz for this trigger, but many get it much lighter. Do you think setting it under 10 oz might have something to do with the failures? Thanks
Replacing the sear spring that Timnet sent me did solve the problem. I think the trigger is between 6 to 8oz. I did have an additional problem just after this video and had something to do with the safety and the problem seem to work itself out. Frustrating but overall I like shooting with the Timney trigger over the stock trigger. I am not sure if the trigger being under 10oz was causing the problem. I will say I now take a back rifle when I compete.
I have this exact same problem. I got one of these triggers the first day they released. When I called them the first time they sent me some springs too. They arrived after I disassembled the rifle and the problem fixed itself. Decided to wait on spring installation. It has frozen up two more times since then. Guess I'll put the springs in now. There is definitely a problem with the first batch of these.
Not sure what's up at Timney, I have used their products for years with no issues, and when I did call for advice on a problem.............. I always got help ....... don't give up on them !!
I agree their customer service prior to the purchase and once the problem was discovered was great. Not sure what is going on for the last month or so.
My Timney in the CZ457 MTR started having issues also. I got in touch with Timney and the were aware of the issues in earlier made triggers. They sent me a new sear spring, after installing it the issues went away. I was having failures to fire.
Timney sent me a new sear spring but they told be I would only have to remove one pin, that did not seem to the case. Do you mind letting me know what you had to do to replace the spring? I may try it. Thanks, Bret
There is a very small pin I believe it was the smallest one in the trigger assembly that keeps the sear in place near the top of the trigger Assembly. I took a small drill bit that was just a bit smaller than the pin and cut it to only have the solid part of the bit to use as a punch, if you have a punch that small obviously it will work. I used the Yo Dave nylon block that was sent with a Yo Dave spring that I had to place the trigger on while driving the pin out. The pin is a lot harder to drive out than I expected. Once the pin is out just swap out with the new spring from Timney. They offered the have me send the trigger back to them and they would replace it for free or send me the spring. It was a little intimidating at first because the pin was so hard to get moving, had to really hit it pretty hard to get it started. John
John, Thanks a lot and turns out to be perfect timing. I was at the range today and guess what the other Timney trigger failed. I was able to follow your direction and replace the sear spring. I hope this solves my problem. Video coming out later today showing the replacement of the spring. I hope you don't mind a gave you a THANKS during the video. Bret
Jees I have a brand new one in opened still setting on the bench bought it in January hope it has none of these issues, it doesn’t say to much for a company dealing in firearm parts to dump a customer as they did you unless they are knowingly trying to avoid an issue with a known problem in their parts, please keep us posted
If you bought it from Timney I bet you are good. If you bought is from MDT or other vendor, it is hard to say. I bet you are okay, I bought my trigger about 4 months ago. I am guessing by January you don't have the early release trigger.
@@AimSmallMissSmall_TV I buy from a few different places. It would have been either “area419” anarchy outdoors” or midway. But with the weather as it is here I’m in no hurry to install it just yet lol.
Hey Man That’s bad if they are not taking your calls , I would try calling from a different phone to see if they are vetting my calls if so that is very poor customer relations , I would then demand to speak with manager , you have nothing to loose .
Watching this and thinking maybe you went too light and your seer wasn't able to function properly. Glad you got it fixed.
Timney sending me a different sear spring seemed to do the trick. I believe it was a thicker spring of memory server me correctly.
I just ordered one 2 days ago! Thanks for sharing. Blessings
Thanks, I hope it does well for you.

Are you sure you didn’t try to adjust the pull weight of the trigger too low?
Not too low but as low as it will safely fire maybe. I think anything 8 ounces or lower is nice for Benchrest shooting.

I'm using a Jewel in my custom Benchrest rifle. Set at a little less than one ounce. Love it
Thanks for the info. I bought 1 from Timney in Nov. It is installed but I have not used it yet.
Hope you enjoy it!
Did this get resolved? I have a 2 CZ 457's and it works fine in one rifle but the new rifle has the issues you are describing. Thanks
