Thank You for this video. I have a 96 civic that allowed the RR window to go up but not down. I followed your troubleshooting steps at the rear door first, then went directly to the drivers door connector where I found 2 wires pulled out. Didn't want to spend $250 on a new harness and chances are a used one at that age was probably deteriorating, so I cut away both connectors and butt spliced all 23 wires together. Wrapped it with black tape and applied silicone to the opening in the door. It also helped to have the Haynes diagram for reference. In order to have working space, I removed the door from the hinges and propped it up diagonally at a 90 degree angle to the car. May good things come your way!
oh this routine works perfectly.. is like i took a 1 hour class with you.. then go work on my car..work perfectly...you are the boss dude..you are the master. my car has had a problem with all the windows except the from passenger side ...the problem was no power and there was a bad connection right by the door..once again thanks boss...

Nice work here. I followed your video and found front passenger side door had 2 power sources, It turns out the driver side switch was melted and stuck open which caused the fuse to keep blowing. Will buy the part and replace thank you so much!
One day I'll get around to making one of those, with a needle point. I see you use it for front probing as well, which is probably OK since it's not large enough to expand or stretch the female contact. Good job, Will!
Thanks a lot for the detail explanation which I'm sure will help me troubleshoot my window problem. Just have a video on its own showing common switches and differences between NC and NO and may be go a bit fancy and explain SPDT, DPDT and so on. You can then refer viewers to that video for a bit of foundation before watching a troubleshooting video. One point on terminology, saying "in the down position" can be misunderstood as the window is in the closed position rather the switch being actively pushed to the down position to close the window.
Quick story: Car had an accident 2 years ago. They replaced door drivers side. The adapter that the door loom snaps into the main body to weather seal is missing. its the plastic piece that fits into the rubber loom that snaps into the hole into the body and holds the rubber loom to the piece that fits tight around the connector. Any ideas to get this piece. I ordered the loom form Hyundai hoping the loom can with the piece and got it without the piece so this is a special piece. I'm at my wits end. I have the exact same issue as in your video but the wires are ok . preventive maintenance as I see this becoming an issue in the near future. Also I have 2 side tabs on the connector and am having a hell of a time getting it unplugged. Very frustrating.

Well done. Seems the diagram was inaccurate by omitting a connection point. What were Honda engineers thinking to put the connection there instead of inside the car at the kick panel.
Thank you, i was a little disappointed with that too, however without it i would of been much longer tracing wires, so im grateful for the most part, its something i don't see often most times the harness is complete after the kick panel all the way to the controls never thought, i believe the newer Honda's are one piece at least i was seeing that at the junk yard, while brainstorming how to repair

I know the motor is good when I connect it to a battery direct it works. Damn passenger window is a pain in the butt. Any suggestions?
These are momentary grounds. They are switched hot as all the motors have are Two travelers to them. There not really grounds.That way what ever side you energize. The motor has a single Ground and one Hot. At rest they serve as grounds to isolate the motor from short circuit. This is what trips most people up. I seen them try and fix the grounding issue. When it's a Switched power issue.
Sir my car i20 has 6 wires in the driver window motor connector. How to find the wire for up and down windows functions??? I thought windows motor usually has only 2 wires on its connector.......but in my case..... contradict...
