Thank you very much, this video came just in time. I play the 1st time this weekend and had to choose between 3 races from which 1 was Yssaril tribes. I just wanted to take them becase of there look, without knowing much more. But now I know how to play them properly :)
ssruu is definitely the best agent. After trading ceasefires with the hacan player, they decided to land in a system on the far side of my slice where my fleet was moving towards, just to get the 4 hazard planet secret objective and effectively cutting me off from Mecatol. Luckily there was a xxcha player, so stalling until the hacan player passed, I used ssruu to use the xxcha kingdom agent ability to remove the 1 infantry the hacan had in another hazard planet. then immediately taking the next action to take the whole system and denying his secret objective. and also keeping the ceasefires since I moved into a system without units. needless to say the hacan player wasted 3 rounds trying to get the planets back (and not trading) while I kept scoring victory points and won.
That is awesome! Great use of Ssruu. You definitely need to be constantly aware of all the other agent abilities when playing the Yssaril tribes and choose the best option for each round, it's so key. The sneakier the better! ;)
One of the most effective ways I ever saw the yssaril used was when a player used them to stall everyone else out and then move with impunity at the end of the round.
Another phenomenal video, Kaptain! Ssuruu is the most versatile agent in the game, allowing the player to refine their strategy on the fly as the board-state develops. But the Commander is also excellent, as the inside information into another player's AC, PN or SOs is not only beneficial for your planning- but that information CAN BE SOLD to other players. Player 1 plans to invade a critical system belonging to Player 2? Bet they would like to know Player 2 has Parley. Only a few trade goods for the privilege. Hey, Player 1, would you like to purchase my Sabotage card? Only a few more trade goods... 🖖
Very sneaky, I love it! Playing the other players against each other is very in character for this faction. Thanks for watching and commenting as always. 🖖😁
Thanks for the shoutout and the video. I would like to see Mentak at the table if I was playing these guys. Mentak uses their faction ability Pillage and you can draw 2 AC's. Another way to get those AC's piled up.
It’s generally a good idea to have a look through the comments on the videos in this series to see if people pointed out any mistakes as well as other strategies. I generally respond to such comments so you can see my take on them as well. Thanks for watching and commenting. 😊
That agent is broken. Yssaril player: I convert a cruiser to a dreadnought...... I convert an action card into trade goods..... I teleport ground forces to a system I activated..... I ready one of my planets...... Everyone else: STAHP EDIT: In answer to your question about which enemy faction is best with the agent, probably Nomad, just because that's 3 powers in itself.
I have my first game coming up this weekend and I have been binge watching your videos for about a week straight. Love the content, information, and strategies. Just curious about the Bio Stems technology, would it be a good pick to allow me to stall longer and steal action cards by being able to un-exhaust Mageon Implants? Thanks again for the videos and keep up the great content.
That would be an absolutely great combo! You would get to steal an extra action card every round and either use it or stall for longer. Let me know how you do in your game. Thanks so much for commenting! :)
@@TheBoardGameKaptain thank you for your reply, I will definitely let you know how the game goes. If I win it will be because of these strategy videos.
@@CaptVrab So the card causes the other players to place their command tokens in one of your systems so that they can't activate that system to attack it later. It effectively allows you to make one system off limits to anyone without the warfare strategy card or similar trick to remove their command token. It also lets you ready a couple of your planet cards so that you can spend them again, which is a fantastic second effect.
I'm Canadian, so my ability to gauge this is limited, buuut...are you from Baltimore perchance? 😅 Also thank you so much for this thoroughly informational video! My bud's planning a game this weekend and we're picking factions ahead of time to streamline the process, and this was immensely helpful. ❤

Great presentation , my Kaptain.

There are some very sneaky and fun ways to use that ability.

Great video that is much appreciated! Anything you'd change or point out since posting it?

Yssaril and Mentak because of the pillage ability.
Would this be a weak faction if you play without mechs, leaders and agents?
The expansion definitely improves them greatly. They weren’t as competitive before.
Got it. Appreciate it.
Yssaril agent works so well with the Mahact agent... watching the two of them work together is just disgusting
Indeed, those factions teamed up can steal the use of much of the other players’ best abilities.
That agent is broken.

Playing Yssaril vs The Nomad would definitely give you more options each round on which ability to steal the use of. It would be really cool.
Wednesday, 11/02/22 I will play Issaril Tribes. Let's see how it be.
Good luck! Let me know how you do. 🙂
@@TheBoardGameKaptain I lost that day! I just forgot to talk! lol Today I played again and I won! Take me 8:30h hours of game, six people and 5 rounds

@@TheBoardGameKaptain One more question, does diplomacy activate your commander? I don’t really understand how diplomacy strategy card works!
