My favourite film of all time is The End of Evangelion. Before finding out about Letterboxd I was honestly worried that I loved it way more than anyone else did and that it was a weird movie for me to fall in love with. So to see it that high up on the top 250 ranking was one of the most validating feelings I’ve ever experienced. Not like I needed it, but it felt nice to see other people who connected with it as much as me.

yes!! I'm kinda addicted to watching videos of ppl going through the list and seeing their reactions to such an odd (yet 100% deserved) placement. EoE is a profound film, the only to ever make me shed a tear

Ooof! Come and See. I like war movies but that one is so good of a WAR movie i never want to see it again and i had even supressed my memory of it untill this list. I rather watch Grave of the Fireflyes again, and i dont wanna watch that again either.

What exactly did they change in the algorithm? I am excited to see Kurosawa ruling supreme in the Top 15 :D

They didn't specify exactly what they changed, but the main idea was to curb voting manipulation and imbalance from a specific country "overrating" a specific film. The results were a bunch o Brazilian, Indian, and fandom films falling many positions in the rankings.
