This version of Ultimate Spider-Man doesn’t seem like the 2000s version, which was really “what if Spider-Man was launched today” but rather “what would an idealized Spider-Man book look like?”
@@ThePrimordialArchonI personally not so sure, for me Earth-6160 Spidey feels a bit blank and artificial. Like its interesting on paper to see Peter as family man, but even after six issues we didn't see much of his interaction with his kids or what Parker's household actually looks like on average day. Its just one date with MJ and small talk with his daughter about costume design and then straight back to whatever global plot nonsense Harry is up to. It's just... nothing special much if you read it without "hype glasses" Also I really don't like that his whole motivation to ce Spider-Man is just the result of mid-life crisis and "that what he should have been" crap :(
Well of course, his family are just allowed to exist. This is what they should have been doing for a long time, it’s not entirely fair to think it’s not engaging because he’s not being overly punished like he always has been. In regards to being Spider-Man later in his life it’s just relatable thing now, being that age and feeling like you could have been more, destined to do more and in peters case that’s very literal
Idealised because it's a good book? Yeah, there can be conflict and choices without abusjng peter to hell and back like other stories, Spiderman is the hero that gets a good ending after reaching a low and perservering, they're already setting up some *proper* conflict and one that doesn't simply shit on Peters life using convoluted crazy sci-fi stuff, this is good, more grounded moral and emotional conflict
Cautiously optimistic that, they have conflict as one might expect, but, instead of it just being trauma to rip them apart. It is an adult and serious conversation of the people working through their feelings and issues with each other. Like, with MJ being the marketing firm. She tries to have the marketing for Damage Control focused on making damage control look better. Not make spiderman look worse to make them seem better in contrast.
as long as it's written good and worthy of a hero, I dunn mind tragic stuffs. Just not forced. Like in the 2nd ultimate universe ( I forgot how many times it's been rebooted ) Peter died while saving people in the great flood and it was a heroic moment. JJ finally witnessing a true hero's action in the time of crisis hen people are paranoid and afraid from all the crazy shit going on and Spider even after moments before questioning "must I go to save them? there are already enough heroes stronger than me" went and did his very best during that fight. That monologue of JJ while writing the last article about Spider would be one of my fav moments in Marvel comics. I have consumed enough graphic novels like Spawn or Berserk so I don't mind tragic hero or anti heroes. What I hate is when writing feels way to rushed and people forcefully asspulling stuffs like the current Amazing Spiderman run.
If this is true then the 6160 Peter and MJ will come into some problems and drama in their marriage and family but this could be a good; their marriage could be like the 616 marriage of Reed and Sue. They had some problems, they faced some difficulties, even taking some time off from their work on the FF to work on their marriage after the events of Civil War. It would be a good thing to see how Peter and MJ will handle the new dynamics of him being Spider-Man and working on their marriage rather than having it undone.
This video makes it seem like she works for The Maker himself, when in actuality her company *works for a company* who works for the maker Would it be cool if it caused conflict? Yes but i doubt its gonna happen
You doubt Peter is going to have conflict with... I mean... anything? I know this isn't 2000's Ultimate Spiderman, where just reading would make you anxious because every villain has hunting him down specifically, which made him unreasonably miserable, just making him look fortunate when in comparison with that version of Gwen Stacy... but to be honest, Peter's existence in the multiverse is about turning life against him.
It'd be such a gut punch to me if they set Peter up for such a fall again... I grew up seeing those two together. To me, it's just like Peter says during the Scream fight. They're a team to me. They say all things go back to how they were in comics, and while that's true 99/100 times... The MJ and Peter relationship is that one I guess :/
They played the long con with this one. They made people care about Peter too much. I can already see the writers’ hands death gripping the rug ready to pull
Let them have struggles but let rhem be happy together. In Spy x Family, the husband and wife are secretly on opposite sides of a cold war. If the secret actually gets revealed, I am certain that both of them will choose each other. And I hope Spider-Man works similarly.
I'm definitely tempted to get into Ultimate Spider-Man. I love seeing Jonah at his best, and Jonah and Ben paired up seems like a cool combo. I tried reading Spider-Man chronologically and made it about 200 issues in, but maybe I'll skip ahead a bit.
This run is only linked to the original by name. It's set in a different universe, so you can read the Hickman run without needing to read any of Bendis'. Both are great though!
I would love to see full length videos around these shorts but when I go to your videos all I see are My Hero Academia ones and I wish there were more Marvel and DC ones because the shorts are awesome ❤
The Ultimates #1 is not ahead of any other Ultimate Book. It takes place in June just like every other book released this month. They actually said in Ultimates #1 that they fled "6 months into the future" and they left in December of last year. So every book is current

Which honestly is good since it means peter doesnt suffer for no reason other than abusive writers

Oh man I have a feeling this foreboding conflict will certainly come back in the long term to bite MJ and Peter's relationship.
I hope it does not lead to the forbidden marriage word

Well... looks like the writers gave Peter a small break, time for him to not be happy
As long as they don’t mess up mj and Peter like they did to 616 I’m fine
Holy neck wolverine
"Jonah being the voice of reason" is a sentence i did not expect to hear today
A universe where JJJ is the one supporting Spider-Man with good, praising articles… I’d love that.
Jonah, voice or reason?🤣🤣🤣
Shit's wild in the multiverse
One Question for Dan: Should Rogue blamed Wanda for erasing all mutants?
She did at first. Along with everyone else.

I wonder how the children play into it, since even at their most selfish, I dont see them doing anything in front of them.
Spider Man should just date someone who isn't as toxic as Mary Jane
damn marvel, he was having such a great life
Yeah Mj is no longer Peter's cannon gf anymore in my eyes and comics are hit or miss these day's
Gosh dangit. We were so close
Oh theres the bad things coming for peter
WTF was up with Wolverine's neck around 0:10?
Could kingpin be an immortal weapon from k'un lun?
We can never have a good and normal Peter and (Insert girl here) can we?
What is that Wolverine? Why did his neck grow a whole foot?
