By definition I would consider 1600-1700 elo in aoe3 de as high elo. Anyone with 1600 elo or above is in the top 300 players in the community. Considering there are ~6000 players for aoe3, and at minimum 3000 concurrent players, that would place anyone with 1600 elo or above in the top 5 or 10 percent of players.
I could see why red went with Barbary pirates: his revolutionaries are rodeleros that counter cav (Magyar Hussars), however, there is no way for Barbary pirates to recover once they lose the initial tempo against Hungary. Hungary is like top 5 revolt

Also didn't know that Dehli survived after 3 hits... think they should be saved & sent over to kill off the T.P.s when they get low... at least get some use out of them for a bit longer. The number of Villagers that died this game... Otto players just do not care/don't have the A.P.M.!
watching the mid game was painful. blue fucked up his age4 up by going log flume and then choping for wood instead of aging. Also then he went for factory just as he was overpopping, and neither of them used the 1k gold from age up for mercantilism. Very confusing. Reds logic made sense even if i dont like not going for mosque construction. The arguement i guess is that 5 vills in the long run balance out the discount. Also lion the bombard church tech used to be food but its now gold. Used to be hella broken when it was food lol. I am keen to try the slightly more eco FI with palace intrigue cause it seems less glass cannon. Blue really fucked up cause he didnt get a quicker age up and didnt get a better eco. The whole point in the FI is sacrificing eco for the most ridiculous overpop. when you have like 30vils and then 5 bombards, the spahi and the nizams with 2 factories on the way at 14 mins lmao

It requires an extremely heavy investment however. I’m a regular player of that revolt and it just simply gets beat by age 3 pushes or strong early age 4. Mortars and culverins just delete this strategy
For all those numbers and stats I put out at the end of the day I'm a fairly simple creature. I see a revolt flag I click. I see TWO revolt flags my eyes glow and I click. Also Otto has been complained about since release because it's near impossible to balance a civ that has auto training vills that don't have costs that also train while aging up. Spahi and Abus guns are problematic units though but the civ is near impossible to balance. It's a very low bar that could easily be confused for limbo rather then High jump but I think Otto is as best balanced as it's ever been. As it stands it has really good match ups and really dog poo match ups. It's also by far the easiest civ to play and playing it at low ranks inflates your rating. So disappointing not to see the silk road>sublime porte for someone planning on Hungary Revolting. If I didn't feel queasy for playing Ottoman I'd climb the ladder with it. Maybe I can do it with Romania instead and feel less bad. Edit: 22:56 Otto doesn't get heavy fortifications
He explained it a bit later, it’s because you can retrain nizams out of the Fort. I think his info is slightly outdated though as they recently made it possible to train nizams out of barracks as well after sending the card
