Teban is indeed creepy, my grandma used to live in the old blocks there and the flat was unusually dark and dreary. Just the vibes is enough to give you the creeps. Then there is the narrow twisty corridor at the back of the flat, stuff of nightmares. My aunt still lives there...alone! The old railway track nearby was also another keras site... ...
Me too! I stayed there from years 1996 to 2000(Rent from HDB while waiting for Sengkang flat to built up). Block 16, near to the old railway track. But now already demolished. Yes! There are spirits moving around...I pray Thai Buddha. I placed a Four Face Buddha outside, just beside my main door. During my four years stayed there, nothing happened. Only thing, I strike 4-D many times 😅.

to hear someone else talk about their own teban tales is strangely assuring. i lived in a haunted teban gardens flat - it was really a very harrowing period of my family's life. i also lost many belongings, even shoes which weren't even put outside. a friend's aunt who stayed in teban garden also encountered a lady in red walking pass her toilet window...except she stayed on the 10th floor.
I grew up in Teban from 1978-1988. Blk 3. Blk demolished to make way for road. The playground there was superb. There were swings and this metal ball structure with sliding down pole in the middle. We used to play catching on it. The classic slide just beside it with a pissy smelled little tunnel just underneath it. No parents today would have allowed their kids to play on these devices anymore as those do not have the foamy floors that kids playgrounds today have. When we get cuts or bruises, we’d never cry nor complain to our parents for fear we won’t be allowed to enjoy the playgrounds anymore. The railway track passes by closest behind Blk 10, 11, 12, 14, 22. A lot of ppl who liked gardening plant stuffs along the tracks. At that time, the stretch of land along the tracks belonged to Malaysia. It was almost like being in a kampung back then along the tracks. We play masak masak over there. Yes there were occasional ghost stories - the worse one was around 1981 - the “hantu kom kom” ones or maybe some earlier ones where allegedly kids have been beheaded - for rituals to build a bridge? in the end our sg gov had to step in to put these scary rumours to rest. there were no internet in those days and yet these tales were gripping peoples fears from east to west and north to south. i am 55 yrs young and those who have parents around this age or older, can check about this stuff with them. they may or may not have heard any of this. Those were the good old days when it was fun being a kid and exploring on our own. I love Teban. Yes there were ghost stories there, but when i moved to cck and jurong west and bt batok. each of these places also have their fair share of it, no matter where you live. Thank you for sharing your story Shahirah. And thank you to channel owner - no one gets tired of this topic usually.
There is a old railway tunnel underneath the Jurong Town Hall cross-junction next to Teban Gardens that we investigated back in 2012 and it definitely has some weird data that was captured especially on our voice recorder: the sound of a female crying and wailing. The place is still accessible. However, it is so dilapidated and muddy now it's hard to get into it. Anyways great work as usual Eugene and I am halfway through reading your book.
1980s Teban had a lot of foreigners (thai) living in that area. The reservoir also very creepy especially during the night - area near the Sungai Pandan, sightings of pontianak merging in the bushes. A few suicidal case had been in Pandan Reservoir in the 1980s.

I lived in Teban for 10 years from 98 to 08. True that it was kinda dark but I never really had issues despite often coming home late. BUT once I was in my room with the door open. My back was to the door but I felt somebody was looking at me so I turned to look at the doorway but there was nothing there. I stared for a moment cos It really felt like somebody had been there. And then ... The blinds behind me slammed shut. It's the type of blinds where you twist the rod to slowly open or close it. It's not made to slam shut quickly. But somehow it did. Other than this, nothing else happened for me. :)
I would not have believed her if not for the fact that I attended the funeral of someone who commited suicide in Teban Gardens. She was my friend's sister. This was in the late 90s. It was unexpected. She had some problems at work but still it was a shock. All this while I didnt know that Teban Gdns had this " atmosphere" that may have contributed. Now I wonder. Would be interesting to know why Teban Gdns has this creepy factor. What is the history of the land?

Why's Secondary 5 years? You guys Secondary school is only 4 years. Unless, you were studying in Malaysia.......then, it's 5 years.
If you study normal academic it’s 5 years, express is 4 years
