@@Florp3434 I've used a bunch of different pen mods and my current carry mods write and they spin just fine. It's entirely preference the way blade or handle bias is
I've also been experimenting with skill based hobbies other then balis, I recently am trying to pick up penspinning and i use to be into kendama a lot(it was popular in my high school and a couple other high schools in the area) kendama was like crazy for me and balisong while not similar its part of the reason i got into balis.
recently got in to begleri myself, it's so addictive i can hardly put them down. I also play a shaker instrument called asalato and some of the movements have translated very nicely to begleri.
Begleris are cool, i bought one from Jacob (Reovzz) i cant "flip" them worth a crap but they're still fun to mess around with when a Balisong isnt the best option at the time. also Ethan ur not a bad flipper, id say were about the same skill level, and like you said, there is always room for improvement.
BROOO i am the same i always play around with random stuff and ill throw anything, i love it, I am a kendama player and everything you said in this video is soo so true. You are so good! keep the grind.
If you ever want a skill toy that is very small, quiet, and subtle; I highly suggest grabbing a knucklebone from aroundsquare. It was my intro to skill toy to begleri to balisong
"especially as bad as I am" while doing crazy tricks. Me watching while never having touched either a bali or beglari 🤯 🤯. I ordered the Canyon yesterday and will be watching videos for the next 12-20 days while I wait to fidget. Lol
Nowadays you can have a quality one for as low as $40-$50 USD from Nabalis, or you can go higher if you want with something from LDY or Squid Industries
As someone who does yoyos, astrojax, and slinkies, even though they all are skill toys, you are right about more space taking skill toys being a different beast.
Should I get a squid mako as my first balisong or should I put down more money. I can pay more but I don’t want to necessarily unless there’s valid reason. Also what’s something to look for when buying 2nd hand? Thanks maybe if you answer this. I am interested in balisong after getting into begleri slinging. Long time dama slayer.
A mako is definitely a good choice but it depends on what you want, you could spend a bit more and get a balisong with bushings, or one that's made out of a stronger material. (Or in the case of the Vulp you could spend less) Secondhand just look for people who have references, always ask for more pictures and information about the balisong, and stay away from people who refuse to provide these things
You should try a practice pair of nunchaku. They are something that you need a bit of room for and much safer outside but they are super fun and excellent for hand eye coordination.
other than live bladed balis i also love pen spinning and pen mods myself. pretty fun and i can write with them. I love skill toys that cosplay as something useful lol.
You should also try pen spinning because it's similar AND it's practical you can fidget and when you need it it's also a pen
I'm getting into pen spinning and I've heard pen mods that can still write aren't very good. But yeah, it's a great hobby.
My "daily driver" pen is too slippery to learn penspinning on :/

I personally play with yoyos and I also cube, I like skill toys cause it entertains me but just cause I have a skill doesn’t mean i’m good in school
What is the best brand if I wanted to purchase the butterfly training knife skill toy? How much should I expect to spend for a good quality one?

I just bought a canyon and can't wait to hear the sound of it in person. It doesn't come with lube shipped to the US tho :/
@@BladeBias thank you! I am wanting to get it for my 16 year old nephew for his birthday.

I stay away from things that need a lot of space, because I don't have much. Mostly why I never got into yoyos. I own one, just never can use it
I just picked up begleri too! Different from balis, but just as fun
Definitely!

You'll get there!
do you know any good tutorials for locktiting a balisong
I don't, probably because it's as simple as putting a drop on the screw, tightening it and waiting 24 hours
other than live bladed balis i also love pen spinning and pen mods myself. pretty fun and i can write with them. I love skill toys that cosplay as something useful lol.

I absolutely love skill toys

It's actually one that I DIY'ed!
where could you get a begleri from? after seeing this video now i kind of want one
They're available a ton of places like amazon, you can even make them yourself!

You should try the Rubik's Cube it sounds nerdy but it's really fun

Have you tried worry bricks?
I have a set of tacticals, but I don't use them that often
@@BladeBias would you sell them to me? (I know that’s cringe, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.)
I still want to have them around, sorry, but there was just a restock on worry bricks website!

You can also try Bwab V2 and serenity sticks by bali3d
Blade-less balisongs are weird
I’ve also tried getting into yo-yos I agree they weren’t the same
Too much space required, and not as satisfying. It's tough worrying about breaking everything in sight
