Personally I don't think this is necessarily a sad trend. Change is inevitable and while yes most of us dread it it is something we have to constantly live with. I think it's interesting to look back and see how much I've changed since I was a child, not just appearance wise but also how much I've learnt and how my experiences shaped me.

Bruh the cat one legit made me sad I’m thinking about all my animals when they were babies and one of my dogs just turned 7 and my other dog is about to be 7 and my cat just turned 3 😭 I miss when they were babies and I don’t want them to keep growing and eventually get old and die
So many of us including myself didn't get to have great childhoods so I guess I feel sad from this trend in a different way, but it's not good to ponder too much on the past
