I used to buy expensive leather specific products but last week I mixed a tablespoons worth of dish soap with half a liter of tap water and poured that on a magic sponge and it did an amazing job, for the first time ever in 7 years I owned that car the steering wheel is truly fully clean, I love it
I bought this kit a little more than a year ago for the leather in my X6. I’m not a fan of the foam block it comes with. I also suggest starting with the leather dash, steering wheel and doors first so you can sit on the seats before you clean them or apply the leather shield. Lastly, I would recommend cutting the fabric cloth the kit comes with in quarters. You won’t use much of the leather shield on the first go round but the cloth will become rather stiff and unusable if you don’t wash it after using it. Overall, the shield is better than the cleaner but I would just use Gyeon leather cleaning products altogether. I keep a towel on my leather center console especially when I get out of the gym. 😅
I have never had a bad experience with Colourlock. Their mild cleaner is actually pretty strong and in my experience the seats always have a premium feel compared to the tons of other products I have used. Thank you for the video and your Jag looks better than new.
This product has been out for some years now and I have used it often on new cars and even on some ones that are a few years old. Seems to work quite well. I have used it on the steering wheel with the sealant and try to leave it overnight and have not had any issues.👍✌️☮️
Still looking for a great leather cleaner and protector! As for the armrest I put a soft folded microfiber over it so I can rest my arm on it and it comes in handy if I spill something!
Another informative video. Something you might consider trying... I've been using the autofiber saver "finger mitts " for application of higher end interior protection. I use less product, get more even coverage and (when held like a pad) get into the crevices more easily.
I have a leather-padded armrest on the center console and I use it to rest my arm on. I'm too uncomfortable trying to keep my arm on my lap, so I use the armrest. I do keep it treated with Gyeon Leather Coat to minimize any wear.
I’ve been ordering all my cars with light interiors for decades now, so I’ve used everything from Lexol to zaino to leatherique to now colour lock. There is nothing better, it’s so good the mild cleaner literally one swipe removed blue jeans staining on my ivory Jaguar f-pace svr leather (after having applied their shield)
Colourlock is great stuff. I attribute my 3 yr. old semi aniline seats still looking new from using it starting week one. I use the center arm rest but have a black microfiber towel on it.
Does the factory sealant applied to new leather seats effectively isolate the leather from traditional leather cleaning processes and bring us to the point of cleaning the sealant? Kinda like polyurethane on my hardwood floors.
Brian, I recently purchased a paint thickness gauge from Amazon. It had good reviews. I measured the paint on my 370z and got an average of 3.5mils. I have only done a 2 step correction with Meguairs ultimate compound and polish. Is this paint too thin to try a 1 step with sonax perfect finish and a Rupes yellow foam pad?
Hello Brian what’s your opinion on Clyde’s Recoloring Balm? I’d like to bring back the blackness on my 2005 Acura RL steering wheel. Thank you in advance 🤜🏽
Do you have any idea the material that is used on top of the dashboard and for the armrests in a Mercedes EQS 580 and if this product is safe to use on that?
Only leather protection product I’ve used is Gyeon Leather Coat. When I drive I put my arms on both arm rests, but if I had a more expensive vehicle I’d definitely keep it more clean be more careful
Driving without putting your arm on the armrest, if it's comfortable and you want to do it, is a step too far for the sake of some marginal amount of cleanliness or wear. Driving should be enjoyable.
YOUR favorite Leather Care Products?
For now Lithium products, CarPro's and Colourlock
Beasley. Will be kool to have a leather products comparison.

This has caught my eye... clean protected and nourished leather and vinyl is a very good thing 🤓✌️
That interior is so badass looking. Great choices on the colors
As a fellow F-Type owner I found this very helpful 👍
Another one for the look back video.Excellent as always Brian 👍🏻
Awesome video and product review/tutorial good friend
Great stuff. Colourlock is my go-to for leather care. Gotta trust the experts. 🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻

Another great video I am sure I have cleaned the coating. off my seats now some else i need to buy Thanks again
Another great video Brian haven’t tried the colour lock yet. I use the Gyeon cleaner and protectants on leather and have enjoyed.

This is awesome!! Thanks Brian! 👍
That Jag has one sweet interior. Very, very nice. Does your puppy like her passenger seat?

have you heard anything about coulour lock top life? would you recommend it?
I no longer have vehicles with leather…however all of our couches and sectionals are leather in our home is there enough there to do the job.
Looks awesome Brian. Quick question. Can you remove a leather sealant or coating? If so, how?

10:00/12:06 Go ahead and put your arm where ya wanna put it, a new cover is cheap.
Fantastic looking car!! 10 out of 10!
I like Fireball Nappa Coat
Nice
Only Neatsfoot or Mink oil for my leather seats!!!! I’m kidding, of course.
Colourlock and TW Hybrid Solutions Interior Mist
😁👍🏻
Angelwax “Heaven for Leather” and “Hyde-Rate”
Me too but try-out the new Enigma Trinity . It holds longer than hyde rate

Damn those are some ugly seat colors. Why not go Katzkin black and green color match?
