I hope you have a fun time with your co-op! It’s always so nice when you can find a good one to join. We loved My Fathers Dragon! It’s actually a three book series. You all might like The Mouse and the Motorcycle too.

My father’s dragon book is great! I also loved hearthwood Hotel. Not a lot of illustrations, but great for k-1st grade.

We are in our fall break at the moment!!! We love yr round homeschool as we break wen we want!!! We change our flow often!!! We love our co op and we host it!!! We meet weekly till end of January!!! We are a Christian co op and everyone works for the company we work for so we travel together as well!!! We use books for history and don’t do it with my younger kids!!! We love MWC!!! We are doing our Bible curriculum slowly!!! I see Bible as planting seeds at this age!!! We prefer get ready for the code than explode the code!!! I get attitude with explode the code!!! We find music happens when it happens!!!

@@themodernhomemaker Aw, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoy them. I really hope LOE works as well for you as it has for us! :) Feel free to reach out with questions...not that I'm a Pro at it...

Good for you for scrapping the curriculum that was not working.

Thanks! It's always a bit disappointing to let go of something that I wanted to use and though would work, but there's no point in dragging through something that's not benefiting us.

@@journeyinthehome 💯 it’s hard. But better to realize it and stop than to keep bearing through it.

Look at heart of Dakotas visual history under their kindergarten program and or their first grade. The kindergarten is what we’re doing and it’s Bible history and early American. I think first grade is just American history. But we LOVE them.

agree with HOD 🎉 we love it, use Little Hearts for His glory for kindergarten and planning to repeat the same thing for first grade, no rush before moving to beyond little hearts for His glory 🙏❤️
So special and so many precious memories we are making ❤
P.S. we use our own math and LA which they recommend that each family chooses what works for their family 😊

Thanks for sharing your update! It's always interesting to see what needs tweaked after the first few weeks in😅 The longer I homeschool, the more drawn I am to literature based history, but it also really needs to be interesting literature!😃

Yeah, I think if my kids had been a year or two older it might've been great. I didn't dislike the literature, it was just above them.

I really wanted to continue using First Language Lessons however it just wasn't the best fit for us. I enjoyed hearing your update. Till next time! 🌻

It's always interesting to me how some people love certain curriculum while it really didn't work for other people. Good thing there are options out there. :)
