The line of sight is very important to the Vedic conception of Astrology, and aspects between planets are no exception.
The Sun, Moon, Venus, and Mercury basically abide by the familiar Trine and opposition aspects given in Western astrology (no squares in Vedic!).
Jupiter strictly gives trine aspects.
Mars gives its own special 4th and 8th aspects.
Saturn gives its own special 3rd, 7th, and 10th aspects.
