as a new pipe smoker I absolutely adore Quiet nights. It has set the bar extremely high for all other tobaccos in my opinion.

Greetings from Southwest Louisiana!! I’m Also a cigar smoker turned pipe smoker and I’m trying everything I can get my hands on. So far my favorite is Chelsea Morning from G-L-Pease. Thanks for the video, I’ll have to try some of these blends. Go Tigers!!!

I’d like to add Boswell’s Countryside to this excellent list. Wonderful “marshmallows roasting on a campfire” tin note, super easy to pack/light/smoke, superior flavor, and not quite as dark as Northwoods. It is my #1 “beginner non-aromatic easy to smoke” recommendation right now.

Loved the snowing backdrop! Outstanding presentation 👍
Took me a couple years of nonstop aromatics before I got into English blends.
And then ... I came to absolutely love 'em. ;-)

Wow! That's some snow down there!!! My wife keeps saying she wants to go to Mississippi or Louisiana in a couple years when I retire. Now I'll have to show her this! Of course I like snow so I'd be happy to see it once in a while.
    Great recommendations Earl!

Well it only happens once every three years or so...but when it does we are all totally unprepared for it. And have no clue how to drive in it. But it sure is fun.

Another great "Light English" blend which i smoke almost every morning with my coffee is GL Pease Chelsea Morning. Not overly heavy on the lat but a really tasty blend. Great choices. 👍

Amazing direction to the new pipe smoker, this should be the norm, not aromatics, believe it or not, I almost quit smoking pipes because I thought all pipe tobacco is just flavored, and coming from a RYO background I dont care for flavorings/additives at all, amazing selection, although quiet nights is complex in profile for a new ''nose'' to appreciate?
Love the video, happy new year !

A 315 is nice to smoke from, but I read Mr Pease on Instagram that he prefers a narrow bowl. Adds more depth for him. Or something like that

@@Earlofpipes I actually have two unfiltered Dunhill pipes I was thinking about that were gifted to me. Because tongue bit is an issue. So Virginia and Latikia will be what I try. I am not an Oriental fan my mouth just doesn’t handle it well. Thanks bro!🍭🐓👶

I even use 2 filters of 9 mm they use in hand rolling tobacco they fit great in the pipe mouthpiece and also the Dr Pearl junior 9 mm is very good for me

    Is Virginia tobacco pipe tobacco
    Similar to Connecticut cigar tobacco?

    • @Earlofpipes
      @Earlofpipes  3 года назад +1

No. Even if they were similar are in he they were grown since they are processed different afterwards they taste very different.

Nope. Chopped cigar leaf by C & D will be a cigar flavor. Also, life hack= take new cigar; chop it up and mix with your english blends or smoke straight chopped in pipe. Ive smoked cigars for decade or so. Few years ago i got into pipe tobacco/pipe collecting. I have even cut up my cigar ends and smoked a pipe with it.

Boooooooo 😂 not the English blends.
    For beginners:
    1. Peterson flake or orlik (virginias)
2 Peter/S or escudo or peterson rolls. (Vaper)
    3 solani silver flake. (Kentucky)
4 (english) can't comment because I've gone off them.
    5. Solani ,aged burley flake (burley)
My list for new smokers for a wide spread of 4 different types of tobacco. As for the English, I'm sure they can choose something from your list 😈.

Lol! I definitely have a few other blend that I thought might be good as well, but was focusing on blends that can hold up to bad mechanics for newbies.
