Your place is amazing! I feel like I go to a tropical paradise every time I see a video of your space, lol. I just love it! I hope to have a collection as half as great as yours one day. 😍
I recently inherited my great grandmothers Hoya. I believe it's a Hoya carnosa, not 100% sure because as far as anyone knows its never flowered. She passed in 1965 and not sure how long she had it before then. This video was VERY helpful! Thank you so much
One time I was going into hospital and had nobody to care for my plants so I put them all in the bath tub and put just a little water in the bottom. I lined the bottom with towels so that they would absorb some of the water and the plants could suck up that moisture when they needed to. They all did really well while I was away.
Wow Nice hoya's you have there!..The unknown hoya you have there (with prominent veins) is hoya merrillii or Quinquinervia which is endemic here in the Philippines..only when it blooms can we tell exactly which of the two as their foilage looks same. The hoya madulidii cutting needs more humidity, warmth and light to root, that grows wild here in trees in humid forests... And yup that one is really not easy to root.
It must be wonderful to see them bloom in nature... I wish one day I could see them flowering in the wild in your country... it must be breathtaking 💞💞
All I have to say is Wow! I love hoya, and every chance I get I grab one, I currently only have two, my hoya carnosa is at least 20 years old, it was a cutting my mother gave me, and looked like two bunny ears, it never bloomed until my mother passed away over 18 years ago, now it has several perdunkles and blooms every year, the other is a hoya obovata, it's small also but doing great. Thanks for the hoya tour, I always enjoy your videos they are so packed with much helpful information.
how do you take care of your hoya? and what is your lighting for you? Your hoya is super old! you must make a video for your care tips!! i have two hoyas, and i just want them to thrive
Thanks for this very informative Hoya tour! Afterwards, I went out on my patio and found a formed bloom on my tri-color and am beside myself happy! I learned what to look for from this video. My first ever Hoya bloom so super excited!
When my hoyas will give me a bloom, I will have a happy danse 💞 I just moved, not that long ago so plants and I are still acclimating to this new environment but I love this place and my plants (and hoyas) seems to love it too...
This clip inspired me... I’m getting a new place(1 bedroom apartment) next year and I’m going to turn it into a mini ‘greenhouse’! Very much like yours... and I can’t wait 😁 After seeing this clip, I got myself 3 pots of Hoyas in one go... oh by the way, I’m from Singapore
I finally got my hands on hoya carnosa crimson variegata, hoya pubicalix and another hoya which i dont know. I suspect it might be hoya australis. It has yellow bloom. Been looking all over the nurseries and finally i got em! Im so happy right now 🥰
I've been looking too and have a growing collection. The great news is that one local nursery follows Summer and so he's getting in these harder to find plants.
Hi Summer, love your channel. Can you do a video on grow lights. Where did you get that amazing grow light. I really hate the grow lights that cast a pink light because I don’t want my place to looking like a nightclub.
Thank you summer! It’s so cool that we live so close by( kind of lol). I live uptown NY , Washington Heights. Totally can relate to apartment living in the city. You have motivated me to get more plants 😂 And it has been a challenge to squeeze a few plants( some of them not so small lol) into my average sized apartment But I love them so much ❤️
Correct me if I'm wrong? I noticed quite a few of your hoya in large pots. Actually too large, with just a cutting or two. Through trial and error I find hoya like to be pot bound. At times it seems that the pots are two small. Sometimes I will put two different potted plants of the same variety that are in pots and put them together in just one of the same size pots and thy seem to thrive better then alone. I did it to my variegated kerrii and it's quite happy.
Wow! Your Hoya collection is beautiful... and it is amazing you know all their names by hart, I would have been lost if I had so many Hoyas lol... I had to name tag them definitely! lol Thanks for sharing!
I definitely have started to name tag all my plants...sort of like a botanical garden. Not always easy to keep them straight, particularly when not in bloom!
Thanks for responding! I like name tagging them... I am one of those people who forgets names right after they tell me their names. lol love your channel! @@summerrayneoakes
Summer it was a terrific tour if your hoya tour in ur home.....I wish u have come UAE...please bring some cuttings of hoya for me...I am that much in love with hoya. .but have none yet
I admire your ability to roll those latin names off your tongue so eloquently. I try saying the orchid names and...well...sometimes I definitely miss the mark. PS - saw your paphiopedilum up on the shelf, very nice. Tnx for sharing
Hey! Would you ever consider sharing where you bought each plant (or just some)? I am always trying to find where to go to buy quality plants that aren’t in the standard nursery rotation! Steve’s leaves, etc!
I Love love love the inside video I am in Melbourne Australia and most of my hoya are outside under laserlite all yr round some i have taken inside for 3 months of our winter .. i have many carnosa and they seem to not care where they are .. Your videos are so helpful thanks so much cheers from oz
Awesome awesome video... could watch continually... infact I did! Such sound mental therapy.. would you consider a video of which plants you have in your bathroom? Curious to know what you recommend for high humidity... and also how best to propagate hoyas... thanks Summer, you are so inspiring! God Bless x
Thank you so much for this. I love my Hoya. My Hindu Rope plant has been struggling for the past few months. I had to repot it because it came in one of those self watering pots. Crossing my fingers for it. Been looking for the variegated version. Your Hoyas are gorgeous! #plantenvy
,.You have a great collection of hoyas. That is my favorite plant I have one that I have had for 20 years. Are you going to do a book signing in AZ? Thank you for the videos they are so informative.
You are getting me hooked on Hoyas!😉🙏If I buy anymore plants my wife will lay an egg😱😁so I better be surreptitious about it!😋Your collection is amazing!💛💜💚
Thank you for your hoya tour I just started collecting hoya plants and heard conflicting stories about ceramic versus terra cotta pots. I see yours a doing great in terra cotta
Wow I love your hoya collection. Thank you for also replying to my Hoya kerrii question regarding the black spots on the leaves. It hasnt flowered so think it is black spot fungus, a fungicide and wiping down the leaves with some neem oil have helped drastically. Thank you once again for a great video with some lovely close up shots 🙂
Wow, I had no idea you had this many Hoya in your collection...just as many as your Peperomia it seems! 😃 Makes me realize I have a LOT more to collect 😉 As always, I really am appreciating these videos and can't wait to see the others in this Hoya series! 🤗
Hey summer...I love ur videos...and ure really cool...I also have a passion for plants( not as much as u but I'm persistent) I have been observing ur videos and noticed I've not talked about the cissus vines that u have grown in the kitchen or in the rooms....would really like to know more about it
I think your huge hoya carnosa need more sunlight to bloom. I have a hoya carnosa tricolour on my south facing windowsill and gets a lot of sun and flowers well and I live in London, UK which has similar weather conditions in terms of light to yours. Good luck!
Love all your hoyas, I recently got a luconosa royal flush I was thrilled to find it! It seems to have thinner leaves so I assume it may need more water than the thicker leaves. My question is I have a few hoyas I bought pretty big in a nice full hanging pot, so do you recommend repotting them too and in clay pots or ceramic?
Hi Summer! Thank you so much for the Hoya tour! WOW! Your place is amazing! I always forward to your videos. You provide so much information that is easy to grasp. Very much appreciated. Where did you get the metal plant tags? They look really nice in your plants. Hope you had/are having a fun and safe trip!
I live in NY... My hoya's do great with southern exposure with bright, mostly indirect, light. In order to bloom, they need to be larger, pot bound, with lots of light (preferably indirect)
Is beautiful to see so many different types of hoyas, I notice that the plants are in small pots. Do they love being planted on small containers? Would love to be collect a few cuttings. Excellent videos been watching a few of your videos.
I just spent most of the night potting up the last parts of my Pleione collection (mostly), thinking I might be a bit crazy. Looks like you beat me. In a good way though. :)
Do you think a concrete pot would be good for those plants that like alkaline soil? Since it contains limestone? Just a thought. Lovely Hoya collection! My favorite is the Hoya Linearis, it’s such a cool plant! 🌱🌱🌱
Your home is like a wonderful tropical paradise!! I would love to have my place look like that someday. How long does it take you to water everything??

Even though I have loads of plants in my garden, I am very new to Hoyas.Loving looking after them each day .... Hi from the Philippines! I reall love your chanel and collections of plant. You inspire me so much. I’ve started collecting hoyas and i just got a Hoya cumingiana in bloomed for just about under $7 :). It has a lot of babies too. How i wish i can send you some as it ha a lot of babies. Should i repot it? I hope you can give me some tips on this particula hoya. Thanks and take care
Your videos have been the Hoya hug I needed after the worst week of my life, thank you for the mental sanctuary.
More mental sanctuaries are coming right up. I hope you're feeling better Pam.
I would hate/love being a plantsitter for you lol. I would feel so guilty if i missed a plant during watering.
You know what I love about this video? All the Pubicalyx that you have. I love love love Pubicalyx. Pubicalyx and Wayetii are my favorite hoya.
Your place is amazing! I feel like I go to a tropical paradise every time I see a video of your space, lol. I just love it! I hope to have a collection as half as great as yours one day. 😍
So glad you liked the tour!
Summer your so real,!!! LOVE how u show ur plants.
i do not see one single plastic pot!!! Marvelous!!!!
I recently inherited my great grandmothers Hoya. I believe it's a Hoya carnosa, not 100% sure because as far as anyone knows its never flowered. She passed in 1965 and not sure how long she had it before then. This video was VERY helpful! Thank you so much
Amazing hoya collection , thanks for sharing . All in beautiful colours ...
I love that pillow!
This is one of my favourite kinds of videos you make! Meditative and highly informative long videos! Great

I could truly watch these for hours hahah love your videos :)

Thank you. I really think it's H. merrillii, but I will await the blooms!
It must be wonderful to see them bloom in nature... I wish one day I could see them flowering in the wild in your country... it must be breathtaking 💞💞
Summer I love your channel, plants, and your squeaky creaking floor 😆 I truly appreciate your time, education, and tips✌🏼🌱
All I have to say is Wow! So glad Holly that you find good information here. Thanks for saying so. And LOVE that you have a 20+ year old Hoya!

You are The Hoya Queen !!! Love this❤️❤️
I suspect the gorgeous glossy light green Hoya towards the middle of the video is one of my favorites, Hoya Merillii.

I think they're easier than trying to remember pet names for all of them! haha.
Hey! Would you ever consider sharing where you bought each plant (or just some)? I am always trying to find where to go to buy quality plants that aren’t in the standard nursery rotation! Steve’s leaves, etc!
I included the shops in the description already, but no one ever reads the description :(
No one
PEOPLE very scared of drop arrow algorithms
Wow,i love it
Thank you! I’ve been wondering what the tendrils should look like if there was ever a flower to come in! This video was very helpful!

yes. I think it really determines how you water them.

If they're happy in their pots, then I wouldn't bother repotting them until 2-3 years. It really depends on how you water (going with clay or ceramic)
hoya house amazing. its not house but wonderland !! AMAZING
Hi Summer! Thank you so much for the Hoya tour! WOW! Your place is amazing! I always forward to your videos. You provide so much information that is easy to grasp. Very much appreciated. Where did you get the metal plant tags? They look really nice in your plants. Hope you had/are having a fun and safe trip!
I loved this ❤️
Loved seeing your hoya collection. Can’t wait to see what cuttings you are getting. Have you seen the silver ghost variety, pretty amazing!
Never have seen that variety!
Omg I'm in hoya heaven
Superb collection!!!! Love the passion ...any chance to see a video when the hoya(s) family are in blooming season? :))
I live in NY... My hoya's do great with southern exposure with bright, mostly indirect, light. In order to bloom, they need to be larger, pot bound, with lots of light (preferably indirect)
Wonderful🌿 have a safe trip:)
Just waiting my purchased hoya carnosa compacta and hoya carnosa krimson queen to arrive - my very first two hoyas ever.
Cool....Your place is looking quite jungle-e-ish.....its a good thing!
Is beautiful to see so many different types of hoyas, I notice that the plants are in small pots. Do they love being planted on small containers? Would love to be collect a few cuttings. Excellent videos been watching a few of your videos.
Awesome
I just spent most of the night potting up the last parts of my Pleione collection (mostly), thinking I might be a bit crazy.
Looks like you beat me. In a good way though. :)
Thanks for beatiful hoya!
Hi, I am a new Hoya mom, with six of them arriving last month. I am as nervous as I was when my first child was born!!! Even though I have loads of plants in my garden, I am very new to Hoyas.Loving looking after them each day .... I however have a doubt,(please don't laugh)..how long do they take to grow, say 5 - 6 feet long?? Mine are just about a foot...
You may look into getting some daylight bulbs. They are super inexpensive and fit into any regular light fixture. I use them for my Hoyas and they love it.
I'm sure you know but underwatering can rot roots just as easily as overwatering can. I'd check the roots on some of the more wrinkly ones.
Thanks for sharing your Hoyas :-)
Where do you get your hoyas,? Plant trades or swaps local? Nice collection!
I cant find the link to your grow lights that look amazing. Thank you for all your videos my husband and i love fwg all of them
I watch your videos and really enjoy learning from them. I do love several Hoya species and would like to collect a couple. My frustration is that I am having frustration finding them at an affordable price. Ebay has a variety but at a very high cost. Do you have any ideas on places I could shop for affordable hoyas? Thanks for what you do, Mary Baumgardner
Love. And can’t help but get distracted by the other plants in the frame! The long leaf maybe philodendron or anthurium at 9:32-37 was killing me! Who is she?? (Will go take a look at your IG and see if I find it there)
I was wondering the same!
Philodendron callosum!
Philodendron callosum!
This has inspired me to go out and get a hoya, but I only have a north facing window, so I'm nervous.
Thanks your sharing...👍👍
I love my madulidii so soooo much.
I love hoyas and peperomias!!
First i have to say i love it to have many-many plants in the house, buttttttt....
In some places in your house it looks that the plants are not growing very well because they have no room to grow!!
They are more surviving than growing. [ i think...sorry]
Do i see it wrong??
[ sorry for my English, i am from Holland ]

Hi Summer! I just wanted to inform you that the term 'eskimo' can be considered to have negative connotations among Inuit people of Canada! I know that's just the plant common name, but I wanted to let you know.
You have beautiful plans but how do you water all the plant I have like 20 on the entire house and sometimes is a little hard to keep on track of the water let me know your method of water please
