Yep now Huffman is knee deep in trash since the hood moved in with any street drugs you want. Crime , gunshots day and night. 1976 was predominantly white, since white flight its a trash heap.
thank you for sharing this! I continued to follow both Lester and Earl after their break up and finally saw them both but was after they split up. thanks again!
I was fortunate to these these guys with Paul Warren on fiddle in March 1974.The Osborne Bros(NOT Brothers Osborne),were on the same show. I went backstage in a boys locker room and heard them jamming with my sister. Sonny Osborne answered ,looking like a cartoon devil, smoking a Betty Davis cig holder and told us to scat. We didn't. Paul Warren came out, shook our hands and went and got Lester. He was genuine ,answered my questions, shook our hands, and told us to enjoy the show. Marty Stuart got the spotlight, and after the Show they handed out Martha White coupons for Free products. I was 10.
Charlie Nixon on dobro and Curly Seckler on rhythm guitar. No Paul Warren, not sure who’s on bass….maybe Pete Corum. Cool video, thx for putting it up.
Marty is bringing it all! So good.
Yep , im guessing he was around 15 there . Going on he is close to my age . he's had a hell of a career .
The late great Kenny Ingram on the five. Saw this lineup at South Stokes High school in NC that same year.
I saw this same show at Huffman High School in 1976,in Birmingham Al.Hard to believe is almost 48 years ago

The greates bluesgrass singer all time
Sure one of them. Mac Wiseman, Del McCoury, Leigh Gibson, handful of others lucky enough to have that gift from God.
Lester left us way too soon.

I remember that. Horse pen's 40. We were the band that preceded him.
Hey, who else were you playing with right before Lester?
This is Allen Tolbert. Did you play with my dad in the band that preceded Lester?
@@allentolbert8114 Yep. How are you Allen. Long time no see. Heart failure has kept me from being able to get back up there to visit.
I saw Lester and the Grass about a year earlier at Huffman High School,I met Marty Stuart at this show, can't believe it's been 48 years ago
Fantastic.
