I agree, but 1 of my most favorite quotes include: Didi: "Stu? what are you doing?" Stu: "Making chocolate pudding." Didi: "It's 4:00 in the morning, why on earth are you making chocolate pudding?" Stu: "Because I've lost control of my life."

I haven't watched a single thing on Nickelodeon since this place shut down. They've changed almost as much as MTV has. A damn shame Blue Man group covered up all that great memphis style kitsch. At least they kept the integrity of the postmodern structure of the building.
Wow this brings back memories. I went to the Nick Studios three or four times during the 90's. I remember they showed us the set of Clarissa explains it all, Welcome Freshman, Pete and Pete and they showed us where they draw the cartoons. When I was a kid I even participated in some kind of game there (only kids) and adults watched. Some Kids even volunteered to get gaked. So sad its gone. Thanks for the Vid and memories!
ugh, this just sickens me.... You know, i wonder how the construction crew felt when they had to paint over all the retro nicktoons... God i miss this...
I remember watching the live coverage of the grand opening of Nickelodeon Studios on Nickelodeon, mainly because they had Christine Taylor from "Hey Dude" sitting in a chair in shorts and I couldn't stop watching.
It's not a bad thing. It had run for 15 years and ran it's course. If it had stayed open, it would have stuff on terrible shows like iCarly or something like that. Kids lost interests in game shows, so the studio was losing revenue. So they closed it when it needed to go. Also, I've seen the Blue Man Group show there and it's awesome, so it's a good replacement.
Hey retrofreak, My brothers and I are taking a roadtrip to Universal the last week in june. Can you give me some info on what to expect at the new harry potter attraction and other rides? What is the best way to roam around the park and get the most out of the experience?
(in the 'Hey Arnold!' episode, 'Baby Oskar', Oskar is playing his saxophone.) Suzie: "Oskar, please!" Oskar: "What? I have to practice." Suzie: "You're not the only person in this house, all you ever think of is yourself." Oskar: "What's wrong with that?"
The real reason that Nickelodeon Studios can’t reopen again is because of 2 reasons. 1.All of the Nickelodeon game shows and old live action Nickelodeon shows including “Kenan And Kel” and “Double Dare 2000” were cancelled. 2.Nickelodeon built a new animation studio in the mid 90s
Here is the theme song from 'Salute Your Shorts' seasons 1 and 2. I hope people don't actually think they'll open that time capsule in 2042.. corporations don't care about nostalgia. Plus anything can happen in 50 years. As we have already seen, the place it was originally buried in got turned into nothing but concrete.
Is the time capsule still there? or did they move it to another location? I took my daughter there back in 1996 on her 6th birthay and we had a blast!!! Man I really want to cry!
They moved it to the Nickelodeon Hotel and resort. But in 2016, that closed so they moved it to the Nickelodeon Animation studios in California. Still to be opened in 2042, 20 years from now
Lets graffiti the nickelodeon logo over everything that says blue man group and they won't be able to remove it so they'll be like oh i guess we'll just have to reopen the studios
Great video! But what happened with the capsule?? Or was a LIE?? If this is a lie, all the 90's kids get angry with Nickelodeon for life!! And i'm a 90's kid >-

They cannot reopen the Nick studios. It is gone. They would if they could but I'm not positive they will reopen it. If they do, that's great but we will see.
spongebobiscool21 I doubt that will happen. Once a company has shutdown, it never comes back. Borders book shops have been liquidated now because they couldn't keep up with what is typical for the present. Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, FL went out of business because of a decline in popularity and interest of game shows from Nickelodeon, so the company no longer found any use for that many broad studios.

Hey retrofreak,
My brothers and I are taking a roadtrip to Universal the last week in june. Can you give me some info on what to expect at the new harry potter attraction and other rides? What is the best way to roam around the park and get the most out of the experience?

@litalover19
It was moved to the Nick Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

I Love Nickelodeon studios but I miss it so much the videos are just so sad 😢😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
@RetroFreak84 where is the note
Where did the time capsule go?
Thanks!
@JEHMSZ
Yes. I am the one who wrote that and left it there in June 2006. Haha.
Lets graffiti the nickelodeon logo over everything that says blue man group and they won't be able to remove it so they'll be like oh i guess we'll just have to reopen the studios
@sonic423
Blue Man Group had nothing to do with the closure of Nickelodeon Studios. Look at RetroFreak84's comment above.
the time capsule is right in the hotel
So sad how they would change it so much.
