  • I finally got my daughter out this year with Max and I for a great fun filled fishing day offshore on Lake Michigan. Launched out of Hammond, Indiana and took a NE heading out 13 miles. Ended up with 2 kings (1 19#'s), 2 Lake Trout (1 big boy released) and the rest Coho Salmon to finish out the box. We fished due East of Chicago 11 miles. Thanks for checking us out!

    Awesome job as always folks!!! I've been studying your videos for a few months now as I also have a smaller boat (19ft trition bass boat) and only venture out on light and variable wind days. I went out on Monday and used pro troll flashers for the 1st time. Got a tangled mess due to not hooking them up right and using smaller dipseys. lol. But was able to hook one of my okuma reels with a 1 dipsey, get down deeper quicker and troll for the rest of the evening. I've mastered the walleye in lake erie (IMO, lol), but find the salmon very elusive as I didn't get a bite on Monday. Launched out of Portage and fished in 50 to 80ft of water. I plan on going until I have some beginners luck. I used a spoon and bigger thin fin on Monday, but just got some flies that I ordered and plan on using those soon. I marked at least 3 bait balls and thought I'd have some success from seeing them, but evidently, I was still doing something wrong. With my dipsey divers, what part of the water column should I target? I realize you can target a multitude of areas in the water column with different gear, but I've read half way down is ideal.

      As usual great job out there.. and maya doing her thing great she got out first time this year. I'm sure she had great time... also side note I fish all walleye tournys and do salmon on the pond for fun.. always great captain with the how's and where's... have you ever discussed the importance of calibrating your line counters for an accurate measure of line out for some who just fill a spool and go without knowing the exact line out..

    • @BigLakeLittleBoat
      @BigLakeLittleBoat  3 месяца назад

      @@stevenjones618that’s actually an interesting thought. We normally trust them for the most part. The coppers and divers i do use a formula in my head as to how far down they are getting.
