Well, actually there is no need for blood. What an eldian needs to obtain a shifter's power is his/her spinal fluid. And you'll say "yeah, but what if Porco got the spinal fluid?" Easy. Eren was going to eat Porco immediatly after this scene anyway, so no risk involved here. And I will explain you another thing too. In the anime it's quite obvious that Eren obtained the power because of that eye/heartbeat shot. In the manga it wasn't so obvious, maybe not even for Eren himself. This is why he smashes Porco's head to the ground repeatedly, to render him uncoscious before he could somewhat pull out some warhammer moves. It's pretty out of place, since the anime leaves no room to the "Porco got the power vs Eren got the power" debate. Sorry for the poor english, I'm not a native speaker
