Hey, y'all! Thank you again for showing up. I hope you enjoyed this here, video on safety and security. Did you know virtual security is just as important too? As a full-time van lifer who works and lives on the road - I need to ensure that my online security is ... secure as well. And Surfshark does just that. Not only does it protect me, but I'm never restricted when I use Netflix, Hulu, Prime, and other streaming services. Mexico tried it! But, I said - not today! Don't forget to use my code AYvonne at surfshark.deals/AYvonne to get 83% off and 3 extra months for free! when signing up. #lifesaver #gamechanger #youalreadyknow
I back in every parking space. My dad taught me that when I started driving. He said, "Always back in so you can get a jump if needed and to escape easily. " I taught my daughter the same and to date. We BACK DAT THANG UP...😁🤣
For those driving a van/longer vehicule who feel unsure of reversing into spots because you never know when to stop since its sometimes hard to get used to the length: Each new car/van I get I reverse into a hedge. Go slowly until you see the branches moving. That's your cue to stop ;) The branches and leaves are not going to damage the car as much as figuring it out the hard way reversing into a wall or a pole ;)
So some thing I wanted to share with all the ladies, a safety trick. If it’s at night time and you have to stop to get gas or something like that when you get back in your van get in the passenger side. That way they may think that you have a driver and you’re not alone. Be safe my fellow sisters🙏
I'm sorry that skin color still matters these days. You are a beautiful, smart, fun, strong, well traveled woman raised by a strong mother with the same qualities. I think you're brave to be out there as a single woman! I'm glad to hear you've got things to protect you in the van, that's one thing I've prayed about for you in your travels.
As a Black former Professional Truck Driver, it’s wonderful to see so many nomadic black women rolling free. If I wasn’t moving out of the country I would get me a van and join all of you. I enjoyed all of your safety tips. I almost teared up to see all of you guys meeting up to bond together. Yasssss, to black women living free!! 🙏🏽🤍
🥳You are getting real fancy with those cuts and edits💅. They are super cute🤩. Your comfort level for being in front and behind 🤳🏾 the camera 📸 has grown. And the growth is beautiful. Keep up the great job. 🥳

I’ve been researching all things Vanlife and have been following your adventures for the the past few months. I literally just found out about Black Nomads Meet and watched their virtual workshop Q&A about an hour ago. Just after I finished watching that I got a notification about your new video of the meetup. I’m taking this as a sign that this is definitely what I want to do. I swear I already have the entire van layout in my mind! I just got to get these coins together. Thanks so much for sharing your journey and for letting us know that black girls are out there on the road too! 🖤
I have an RV and I've researched weapons and believe it or not there can be dire consequences of taking weapons across state lines. Be careful sis! Each State has its on laws!
I truly enjoy watching your videos! Im 68 next month and I’m working out a few things so I can purchase my luxury van too! But until then I’m living my future adventures thru you, so keep posting! Love seeing you interact with your mom. You remind me of my daughters, we are very close. Hope someday someone will host a Black nomad van event in the Northwest. I love being outdoors anyways! Hubby had a stroke a few years ago but I’ve been telling him, it’s very important to live in the moment, we did our 9 to 5 retired and need to enjoy our hard earned money! Enjoy and do you!
The meet up was beautiful to see!! Very inspirational. And I feel like your perspective on traveling as black women was very well put! 💜 All it needed! I’ll be with y’all in spirit. Can’t wait for the next video.
I don't know why seeing this meetup come together brought me to tears. Van life is something I really want to get into, so I seek accurate representation just to get an idea of how the lifestyle is for black nomads. Feeling like I don't see enough black van lifers on RUclips, to seeing this made me feel great... Very inspiring. Can't wait to see the vlog..
Even though I'm not black, I can't tell you how tired I am of the barbie and manbun van couple channels. I can't watch them without severe cringe cramps. You're are also super funny.
Oh, I love it!!! BNM...i will join next time. I have got so much more to look forward to with this traveling the US. Safe travels my friend. Keep up the great videos. They're informative and intentional. Thanks for amazingly good content. Much love. Namaste.
Tip for Antoinette, get a road atlas from Walmart they are nationwide for all roads and highways for when you have no signal on that iPad. One day you’ll need it.
Hey now hey, I love your hair. I am here for the black Nomad meet up. And the safety tips are a must. I agree beware of your surroundings and always have a escape plan, know exactly where your keys are rather you live on the road or not. I am the same way you enter without my permission you right you may not get out the way you came in. I live in Alabama and yes it’s real here, but no man will scare me to leave my house because God has not given me the power of fear. I stay prayed up even when traveling or family members are traveling. But I love to watch solo black women taking a stand in life and doing what men has being doing for years. Tfs y’all be safe and blessed
What would you all think of a white nomadic meetup? I think that would be awful, just like i think it's awful to exclude ANYONE based on immutable characteristics. Didn't Antoinette just return from a couple of months in Mexico, a trip on which she was INCLUDED? Turn around and all her white female travelers are EXCLUDED from the event she attended? Wow. I could never do that to a friend. Wherever i go, my friends are welcome and if they are not welcome, i would not go.
@@levt7651 so because this was a black thing she should have not gone because it was for blacks. 🤦🏾♀️ that’s the problem you can be friends with any color race but you don’t have to do everything with every color race. At the end of the day I am sure her friends from Mexico trip has trips planned without her. But anyway I really don’t care what anyone else thinks about what she is doing. I enjoyed the video and will always support anyone. I don’t see color I see people. But you have to put yourself in someone else shoes before you try to walk in them.

@@levt7651 in solidarity I do get what you are saying and am in agreement, its just not that deep for most of us of color, because of our shared history with racism/exclusion. This is great! I am building out a 1988 chevy van home to travel and work in film and tv and I have been worried bc I am a solo female traveler so I really want to make sure I take extra safety precautions. Thank you for making a video for fellow women. It can be a battle to be a woman in this world but we are so much safer if we have each other's backs
I really really did love this one and feel better knowing y’all have necessary precautions. Now one thing I’d ask as well, is make sure IF anyone travels with a firearm, to make sure you are aware of the local laws pertaining to them, to ensure all protection all the way around.❤️ Bless!
Ladies please be safe and don't talk so loud while you are on your cellphones. Also don't let every smile think you can let your guard down. Also never ever tell anyone you are traveling alone. I always keep an updated travel atlas from the gas stations. Just in case there is an accident you can plot out a route with it if the gps is not working it out.

As usual great video Antoinette and it’s the level of skill of these vids for me😁! Love your hair too! One cool tip that I saw on another van lifer video (the name escapes me) but she places several protective devices in strategic spots in her van- if you all don’t already, this would be good to consider. Stay safe out there and have fun🚐🚙😁
Thanks so much for addressing safety. Looks like the festival will be great fun. I so wish I knew the time it was taking place. Well done Sis on this video as only you can.
ANTOINETTE YVONNE, you are the most entertaining, delightful, grade A #1, person on RUclips. Your sense of humor, energy, intelligence, openness and outgoing personality bound to attract tons of fans, friends and family. I've watched dozens of your videos and loved every one. Thank you for covering safety issues, and for continuing to be you. Stay safe, well, and keep on traveling and posting your uniquely delightful videos. QUESTION: ARE YOU GOING TO ADOPT A DOG?
This is a very good look right here!!! As blk folks, we need to continue to put ourselves in all the spaces and force yt people to be uncomfortable too. They’ve been comfortable for far too long while we walk around living in turmoil. Maybe then they will be forced to confront their unnatural fear of blk people. I think they’ll see its really their own personal insecurities, ignorance and very limited perspective on all things not exactly like themselves. We shouldn’t knowingly put ourselves in imminent danger but should not put so many limitation on ourselves because of yt folks who walk around free and enjoying this country while we’re still mental slaves in our own country! I wish the f*** I would! I’m won’t be the 1st to start no sh** but I stay strapped in case shit was to go down to defend myself and my beautiful little family. Y’all be cool in this hot ass heat my people 😘

I'm a black woman vanlifer on my own in Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 ..racism is here also but nothing like in the US 🇺🇸 ..I'm always on my guard and if it doesn't feel right I move.
When I saw Elizabethtown, KY I thought I knew what this video would be about. I’ve worked in this area and it was the first time I was called “girl” as a grown as woman. Waiting to watch the entire video.
Really enjoying your videos and stories. Gathering all the information about van life. My husband and I are thinking about this for when our last child leaves the nest.
When I lived in the country, a car started to follow me down a winding country paved road leading to the little dirt road where our house was. Our house was the only one on that dirt road. I knew the paved road well, so I turned off my headlights as I got around a bend where his view of me was blocked for a few seconds, so he couldn't see me. While his vision of me was blocked, I quickly turned onto my own little dirt road, pulled behind my house, and went in the back door, keeping the lights off. I peeked out the front window and saw him turn down my dirt road looking for me, but all he saw was a dark house and no car. So he left. Cutting off my headlights for those few seconds allowed me to disappear from his view without him knowing exactly where I had turned off.
You have to make sure you are protected at all times!! I’ve always wondered I’m not a can lifer but at these black events if you are biracial are you welcome?! They always look so fun but that’s always been something I’ve struggled with not knowing where I truly fit in?! Great video, can’t wait for the next one!!!
Good afternoon! I am glad you and Jasmine enjoyed your time in Gwinnett County. Have you considered having a meet and greet when you visit different cities? Not mad at you for having the added protection👍🏾...Dogs are hard work, BUT make great companions and watch dogs too. Enjoying your videos.. I hope to convince my hubby to purchase a home on wheels so that we can travel after we retire in 3 years. Oh, BTW, I live in A.🤗
Oh hell yeah girl!! You keep those instincts alive!! If only you had a jet pack on the van rt??? to get that birds eye perspective. You always have me in stitches the way you tell your story. 🚙❤🔆
Such good info! Thanks so much for sharing! I'm Liking, subscribing and will definitely be watching more of your videos as I prepare to hopefully someday soon do solo female van life! Thanks girl! Be safe out there! :)
I also read about another scam where somebody might approach you as you are walking back to your car from being inside the gas station or store, extend their hand holding a $5 or $10 bill and ask you if you dropped it. That is to get close enough to you to snatch your purse.

Cool black owned RV park. Good to know
I'm was born and raised in Atlanta and I never heard of Wortham GA
I live in Georgia also. Lots of small towns. I heard of Warthen RV Park and I'm so excited to go.
Omg!! What's going on? This looks fabulous. One day ill be there!! From Oakland CA. STAY BLESSED LADIES🙏🌟💐💪👋👋👋👋
I always keep an updated travel atlas from the gas stations. Just in case there is an accident you can plot out a route with it if the gps is not working it out.
Lady... I'm so inspired by your life.... I envy you in a good way.... traveling the globe is something I hope to do in the near future....your van is clean and fresh... exquisite taste... Be safe and enjoy your adventures... I subscribed too... thanks for the video...💞💕💜🖤
OMG! You’re in my state!! Welcome! Great video!!
Yaaay! Chocolate City VanLife. As always, Be Safe. 🙏🏾🖤🚐👑💐
This was such a great comment. Thank you for showing up. I appreciate this.
About that dog: I've decided to hold off for now.
Y’all be cool in this hot ass heat my people 😘
My exact sentiment Mrs Simpson!!! I strive to live a life that is limitless. The adventures and life in this world is for intended for us too!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
@@AsTheSunRises Yup for eerbody!!! I’m so glad we’re getting out there and exploring in our own land! Big ups to you!

You are beautiful, smart, funny and would be a fun person to know. I'm watching your safety video and then you mentioned being black on the US. It makes me so sad that there are still some who feel differently about a person based on their skin tone. God bless you, beautiful lady and safe travels. 🙏

One of the best videos I've seen for women considering solo van life.
You had me when you started van life and brung them crab legs 😂 Thank you for the weekly content, I’m forever a subscriber
You are such an awesome person and people gravitates to you, continue to be safe🦋
Bless you.
Thank you for allowing you tube audience's in. Passing this on!
Wow thats scary. Glad you're ok.
Your hair is looking super cute! I love it!🥰

Oh, BTW, I live in A.🤗
If there are any of your friends who would feel better caravanning with a token white girl, I’m happy to travel with them. Seriously.
Good vlogs!..been Shazamming your music …lol
OMG…I live in Lawrenceville… glad u made it to GA!
I love that there is a black van lifer event. I want to see it expand and get bigger and better next year!

The stalker in the red truck would have seen my 'fire power'! THE NERVE~~~~LOL
Enjoy the back roads from the drama.
Hi Jasmine!
Night!
Oh hell yeah girl!! You keep those instincts alive!! If only you had a jet pack on the van rt??? to get that birds eye perspective. You always have me in stitches the way you tell your story. 🚙❤🔆
Just found your channel and enjoyed your video. I live in Chattanooga TN :) be safe!❤
Welcome 🤗
It would be advantageous for the black owned rv park, if you left details on how to access them ie; link or address w/contact info 😉.

Thank you for stopping by.
Such good info! Thanks so much for sharing! I'm Liking, subscribing and will definitely be watching more of your videos as I prepare to hopefully someday soon do solo female van life! Thanks girl! Be safe out there! :)
Hi you can clip your seat belts to your van door and back to the seat so it's harder to open
Very glad to see so many women having fun and learning from each other. Good video thank you.
You and Jasmine are just out there doing your thing! That’s what’s up! Love you both💕
Thank you.
I also read about another scam where somebody might approach you as you are walking back to your car from being inside the gas station or store, extend their hand holding a $5 or $10 bill and ask you if you dropped it. That is to get close enough to you to snatch your purse.
