I found Beans a week ago, and love watching your channel. I have been considering living in a van for the last year. I purchased a van in May, and plan to give notice in August to both my leasing agency where I rent and my part-time job. I just turned 63 last week and I'm anxious to begin my journey. Wish me luck 🤞!

I traveled to Rome, Italy, for my first-time solo trip. I was terrified! With each new day, I met the most wonderful people and had amazing adventures! I decided that I liked waking up each morning and decided to do whatever would bring me joy! It wasn’t a group decision! I grew so much from that solo trip! Since then, I have visited Iceland, Italy (Train from Rome to Venice!), and Ireland! I never really feel alone, because of the people that I meet along the way. Someone once asked me how I have such great adventures, and I told them that it’s a matter of being open to new possibilities and saying yes to your fears! Thanks for sharing your first solo trip! You’re already an over comer! 👍

Arrgh, pitch stealers! I thought you were very restrained, especially when you found they'd broken your table. That's probably the point I would have confronted them. Entitled, horrible people like that will eventually get bitten by karma. Love you both and always look forward to watching new content. x

@@davidf2118 Wow, so you think it's abandoned stuff, but you'd pick it up and dump it somewhere else?? Leaving a table and chair out to keep your spot is standard practice and who are you to say it's old and tatty?? There's no excuse for it ... it's simply selfish, despicable behaviour.

    • @bambu9431

Yes, you'd think that in the English countryside you'd be safe from selfish morons ruining your happy day, but obviously not. Confrontation?...best avoided like the plague , it can lead to physical harm, even death in some cases. In this instance the chance or their moving and paying for the damaged table would've been very remote, best to just park somewhere else and move on.

Absolutely not. You kill them with kindness. You treat them in a manner so sickeningly sweet that you kill them with sugar poisoning. Trust me, it works! You go away from the experience feeling fabulous, and they end up deservedly frustrated that they weren't able to hurt you like they wanted to." And of course she was right. I loved watching this. :) You had so much fun by yourself which was great. :) I would have been totally p'd off if someone broke my stuff and stole my spot, but I guess I would have said something, only when you're alone, ugh. That's hard. I probably would have done the same, just found my happy place despite all. So, tomorrow I embark on my own solo journey and this video has helped immensely because I am freaked out. I'm a single mom. I have two teenage daughters and I am adopting a toddler daughter soon, so...one of my kiddos has severe special needs and she is going to music camp for two weeks, (this is a big deal) my oldest daughter is already at theater camp for a month. I'll be traveling from Los Angeles to Albuquerque New Mexico to be near my youngest daughter in case something goes wrong, I can be there, BUT this is my first time being alone in 15 years. I am so scared, I'll be in a new city without my kids. I'm excited because after the baby comes I'll probably not be alone again, but nervous as it's been so long. Thank you for inspiring me and this journey. I feel better prepared to step foot on my own adventure. :) We love to camp and do it all the time so a #JackerySolarWay would be lovely, but more this was inpsiring and helpful as I am just about to venture into the unknown...alone

@@imokaart I agree except what purpose would it have served? Either they’d have been embarrassed and would have felt horrible (Benefit of the doubt here. Also, I’m certain Emma would have felt bad for making them feel bad.) Or, they knew what they were doing but didn’t care because now they were set and wouldn’t be moving. Now what???

@@rlmartinusa so you just let people do what they want with no one saying one word about their behaviour? Like I said above, it doesn't have to be a full on fight but expressing yourself is best so that at the very least they may think twice one day. What happens one day this couple blithely moves someone stuff and then some burly brute comes back and gives them a punch in the face for their rudeness? They need to know it's not on.

Got into following you guys as I'm converting my own van so I can have many adventures and make a ton of great memories with my little boy. Progress has been slow as I work full time and I'm a co-parent but I'm getting there now. I really like the honesty with which you guys tell your travel journeys and experiences. #JackerySolarWay #travelbeans #solobean

I loved this video! I want to also tell you that I admire you for taking time out to be on your own - it’s really essential for couples to spend time together as well as by themselves enjoying their own hobbies/friends/company. Also, absence makes the heart grow fonder ;) I hope you do it more :)

Ooooo, that trip looked so relaxing! I could almost feel the breeze. I would have been really annoyed as well by the site-stealers, but the more I think about it, the more I realize how miserable it must be for such selfish and inconsiderate people to have to live with themselves and each other. I hope it didn't mar your getaway too badly.

Hi Emma. Love watching your adventures with Alex but also good to see your solo trip. Looked good fun (apart from the pitch stealers - agree get a wee sign made up so it’s clear you are coming back) and very relaxing. Would definitely enjoy watching more solos if that’s what you want to do. I like my own company too sometimes! 😁🥰🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I just watched this while I’m on a trip without my husband. It was weird, because we love watching your videos together. It is good to get away by yourself, because it makes you feel stronger, but also makes you appreciate your partner in crime. I keep thinking, Oh HB would love this, it wish he could see this. Makes for great catch up time and storytelling. Thanks for always bringing a smile to our faces 😊

Love, love, love this video! I’ve taken our teardrop out for solo adventures with our two dogs. My feelings are very similar-I love spending time alone, love the confidence I build from tackling the trip alone (from the drive into the forest to the set up, etc. We live in Colorado, and the access roads can be pretty tough!), but also miss enjoying that time with my husband. It’s also a good reminder of how many tasks he takes on when we camp and makes me very appreciative🥰 Thanks for another great video!

How nice to try a solo trip. I would be afraid to go solo as a female unless I knew the area well. But I have enjoyed watching your adventures with Alex. I also enjoy watching your solo trip. This motivates me as soon as I finish renovating my 1984 Chevy Fleetwood Tioga motorhome to be solar-powered for off-grid travel. Thanks for sharing. #JackerySolarWay

I am so impressed you did all that Van fit out yourself. We are going to be fitting out our summer house (the ‘sitooterie’ as we call it) like we would have done a van, so the Jackery would be an amazing addition. I’d love to have my sewing machine hooked up in there. Just need to build the thing first 😂 #JackerySolarWay is a great incentive to get on with it, since it’s currently a pile of panels under a tarp!

I love my set up...hope you manage to win as it does so much for independence. Also a solo camper (with dogs) and I love it...mostly wild camping in the camper vs campsites. I've always offered to have other solo women join me to help them build confidence in being out wild camping alone as not all of them have the confidence to do so....love to bring women of all kinds into this kind of strength and empowerment

Great episode.

So glad you were brave enough to do this. I understand completely about the fear and the loneliness of not having your best mate along. Yes many things are always more fun when shared by two, but it is also good to chill in your own space and time for a while. The photography was really good too. No worries there. I will close with this about your mean neighbors....karma is a bitch only when you act the batch. You rock. Hugs from us in Arizona...

Loved your single adventure and would love to see more but sure do miss your husband. You two are the best. I have never ever seen such positive people that have gone through what you both went through loosing Frank and came out of it still feeling so positive. Love you both. Thank you and can't wait for your nest adventure. P.S. I know you two so miss each other.
