This is probably the best cover of this song that exists, IMO. It's so unusual, with his quirky delivery reminiscent of a 1920's-30s sound, but it is oddly perfect. It's funny how he plays up the slightly flat, slightly nasal quality to get that anachronistic sound, but every once in a while he punctuates with a crystal clear spot-on note in just the right place. He really is a crazy talented singer.
I’m so high and I am FEELING this. His voice is weird, but it’s incredibly stylized, he’s slow, confident and damn concise. He hits every point,
BUT MOST OF THE SONG IS THE BAND WORKING IT TO THE GODS backing it up.

I was a huge fan of this song in high school in the '80s, but this far surpasses Soft Cell's original--at least for the adult me. I love the way he says "baby."

Love it! Could almost be from the late 1920's / early 1930's. Conjures up images of flapper dancers doing a routine to this complete with cleopatra-style hair cuts, glitzy dresses with dropped waist-lines, and feather boas abound! :)
