They walked to a different part of the castle. The scene where Elsa took the diary happened in one of the towers near the roottops, and the room where Indy and his dad get tied up is down near the castle entrance. It was a long walk, more than enough time for her to fix her hair.
Why doesn't anybody recognize that Elsa is a beautiful woman who uses sex to manipulate men. Instead, everyone seems to believe the Jones boys have "game".
Probably because she is a Nazi, whereas Indy is a hero who has saved the world on numerous occasions. He is not like Elsa, who is the sort of person who would do anything to get what she wants, even seducing a man old enough to be her grandfather.
